    Feedback...

The autograph queues weren't a big deal for me. Every time I've gone before, by the time I've got through the first queue, all the queues were open anyway, so having them all open from the beginning didn't change anything. The only time this hasn't been the case before is one guest whose queue got majorly delayed, and my number didn't get called until after the signings were meant to have finished. So this year's in comparison worked perfectly. The only way I can think of that would improve the signings, is having all the guests on one long table and you are called in groups of 30 or whatever, and you just go down the table. That way you would only need to queue once. I had a decent view for most of the talks, but for one of them (I think it was one of Robert's) I was sat behind a pair who didn't stop talking the whole way through. I didn't want to make a fuss in the middle of a talk so I kept quiet, and luckily I had a guest encounter during the next talk so didn't have to deal with it again. I also saw some ladies who had had their seats taken, and the chair-thief wouldn't move, and the crew member they talked to wouldn't do anything about it because they hadn't left anything on their chairs. The parties were great this year, made new friends, great atmosphere, I appreciated the discount at the bar!!! One thing, there was a photographer at the parties taking loads of pics of attendees, does anyone know if they'll be available to view/buy online anywhere?? The photo sessions went really smoothly too, I was surprised by how quick they went, and they were so well-organised.
  2. Right, I'm packed... I think!! C'mon guys, what have I forgotten? There's bound to be something!
  3. this would be cool, I'd definitely get one
  4. I was so worried I was going to be too ill to come! But luckily with 2 days to go, I'm starting to feel better! Better get packing!!
  5. Comfy shoes on Saturday then!
  6. Great news everyone. I will very likely be the completely mute girl in the pretty dress. I've got laryngitis - don't worry it isn't contagious, but I've been instructed to keep talking to a minimum to keep from effing up my vocal cords. So um, anyone want to walk around with me and make up funny dialogue to go with my overdramatic hand gestures?
  7. so tempting.... I've got so many dresses I'm trying to choose between, some of the short ones definitely make me looks like I've just stepped out of 'Toddlers and Tiaras'!! Hm, I really might wear a ball gown... might not fit through the doorway, but perhaps worth it!!
  8. So tempted to wear a full-size ball gown on the Friday night. Miles of taffeta and tulle, maybe a tiara....
  9. I went gold in the end (I promised myself I wouldn't, whoops), think I got one of the last ones!
  10. Finally got paid, so I've just bought my ticket and booked my hotel room. That was a very quick £420 *pained whimper* better go buy a train ticket now!
  11. Please, please can we get some authors? And by authors I mean specifically BRANDON SANDERSON!!
  12. I guess I'll probably recycle one, unless I can get it together to make one of the high-cost ones I'm always planning and never get round to. Definitely will come in cosplay though, it's far easier to throw on a costume than to pick an outfit!
  13. I sent an email about a week ago, but didn't get a reply. Guess I'll just have to wait and see, obviously don't want to book a hotel room until I know I can get a ticket.
  14. What do you reckon are the chances of showmasters ever expanding this con to include theatre guests as well? What I wouldn't give for a proper photo op with Killian Donnelly, Fra Fee, Hadley Fraser... (although all of my examples have technically been in at least one film!)
  15. Hi, I'm Ingrid (some call me Grid, a few call me Inga. If you call me 'Ing' I might have to hurt you) I'm almost certain I'm coming this year, although I haven't bought my ticket yet! I've been to two chevrons before and had a riot both times. Really looking forward to seeing some friends and also meeting some new people. I haven't had a day at chevron where I haven't fallen off my heels at least once, so if you see a girl on the floor, it's probably me! Can't wait to meet you all in person!
  16. Thank you, I'll do that!
  17. Any ideas on the last date to order tickets? I don't get paid until 25th March, will that be too late to order?
  18. Already got our Cosplay group sorted, so what would really make our weekend special would be some guests from the 2012 Les Mis movie!!! Obviously Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe are never gonna happen, but some of the smaller characters would be fantastic. Any of the barricade boys especially would be incredible. Failing that, the usual requests: Neil Jackson, Toby Regbo, Morena Baccarin, Jason Isaacs, any chance of Tom Hiddleston?
  19. Pretty sure I'll be doing a potter cos. Bringing two newbies and an almost-newbie with me, so very much looking forward to this!
  20. We're currently considering either the doubletree, or one of the premier inns, depending on which works out cheaper for us overall.
  21. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo! I'm on holiday!!! I'll have to send someone along with my books.
  22. GUYS I NEED HELP! So I'm planning a cosplay (actually not for this con because I'll be in Florida!) but I need a bit of advice. I'm making a crown, but metalwork isn't really within my abilities, so I'm looking for a liquid that I can pour into a plaster mould that will set super hard like metal. If anyone has any experience with this sort of thing please give me advice on what you've used in the past, or any other methods you think might work. Thanks guys!!!
