  1. Im pushing the boat out this year as Im not only attending this but also Collectormania at Milton Keynes:) Anyway, here are my costs: Return flights from Belfast - £130 Hotel near even Fri-Mon - £300 Train Fair - £40 Food/Drink for four says - £230 Admission - The early bird weekend pass:) Autos/Photos - £300-£400 approx. Money well spent IMO:)
  2. Andrew Lloyd Webber! I mean , how many musical shows has that guy made That said, I'm going for Dan Aykroyd
  3. Thats a real shame that Peter has pulled out, he was first on my list for auto and photo. Please can you go for another main headline star wars guest, would really really really really really like Carrie Fisher please:)
  4. Just booked my flights and hotel tickets for this event, really looking forward to going to my first Collectormania event, thanks SM:)
  5. I have a query: If you pay for a talk, are you allowed to use photography and personal recording equipment? Also, will noisy people be asked to leave? I ask these questions becasue if we pay to attend the talk we should be able to take pictures of said guest/guests. Also, if young children are present and start crying they can spoil the talk for everyone and paying customers would have a right to complain and seek compensation as they had paid for something which they were unable to enjoy,
  6. "Laura Vandervoort and the Avellan twins have already been announced." I have been checking the website constantly and there has been no mention of any guests whatsoever:( http://www.collectormanialondon.com/index.php?option=com_flexicontent&view=category&cid=76&Itemid=21
  7. I have a quick question; will Gillian Anderson be available to purchase and also can it be personalised. Thanks:)
  8. Thanks for you input as always folks, you have been a great help. The lineup for both looks amazing, but have to say that personally for me, there are guests that i would like to meet at MK more than LFCC, but thats no slight on either of these cons. Have to see if work will let me book these dates off, i can never understand their unwillingness to embrace their inner fan lol
  9. well here are my suggestions: Carrie fisher Mark Hamill Billy Dee Williams Dan Akroyd Terence Stamp Kevin Conroy (Voice of Batman in TAS) Lou Ferrigino (The HULK) Anyone from TNG, DS9, red dwarf, BSG, firefly, alien and aliens, go Showmasters and work your magic:)
  10. Free bus serevice to and from the venue from MK, wow, thats a great incentive to bring fans to the venue, well done SM!! Im having a look at flights and hotels for this, i think you guys have made my mind up for me, looks like i'll be going to MK, flights and hotels pending :)
  11. Thanks David, The guest list at the moment is pretty amazing which is why i am seriously considering it. Its just weighing up travel times and fares. As it will be more or less just a signing event, i wouldnt have to rush as much from photo to photo session as the LFCC so it seems to be a more relaxed con which would be a big plus, would you agree? Also, any suggestions on hotels that would be close to this venue? Thanks again, Phil Following The Nerd
  12. Hi folks, Last year i attended the LFCC and it was the best weekend of my life; so many guests and so many autographs and photo's. This year i have looked at the line-up and i am torn between Collectormania MK and the LFCC. I am a HUGE trek fan and the Duras sisters are really tempting me to come over. Question is; is the MK con going to have more guests added. I understand its smaller than the LFCC but are Showmasters planning on having more guests? Also, will there be the displays, talks and auction at this event? Thanks for your help with this as I live in Belfast and will have to organise flights, hotels, travel etc and can only afford one or the other (ps i am planning a trip to Autograpioca later in the year too:) and want to go with the best value. Thanks for your help with this folks, Phil Following The nerd
  13. I had several photo's too at "C" and have to say a really big THANKS to Giles. I was getting my picture taken with Sophie Aldred, had my arm around her and she was so friendly, "Giles" then said "Can you move in a litle closer". Well, i mean, WOW, she rests her her head on my neck, im beaming ear to ear, he takes the pictures, looks at it and then says, "Umm, i need to take another one." By now im just living the dream!! I replied "Take as long as you want mate, i can stand like this all day", Sophie then ljets out the cutuest laugh and im still holding her, best picture ever, thanks Giles:)
  14. Hi "Rhianydd", yeo, it was yourself that i got to speak to as i left on Sunday. Tried to say thanks on Saturday but some lady wa sreally giving you grief (for no real reason, wasnt eary-wigging but i think she liked the sound of her own voice lol), gave you my "Following the Nerd" card, and shook your hand, was well chuffed over all at the event. Out of the auctions on both Saturday and Sunday I "won": Avery Brooks - Picture of Cpt. Ben Sisko Kate Mulgrew - Picture of Cpt. Janeway Patrick Stewart - Picture of Picard from First Contact Michelle Forbes - Picture from Battlstar Gallactica Dirk Benedict - Picture from Battlestar Gallactica John Rhys Davies - Picture from Indiana Jones and the last Crusade Roy Schieder - Continuity Polaroid from Seaquest DSV Lance Henrikson - Picture from Aliens vs Predator William B Davis - Picture from X Files Sonny Landham - Picture from Predator Ricco Ross - Picture from Aliens Maclom McDowell - Picture from Doomsday (I think) Oh and some bloke from Twilight which i got for my friend as she loves the films:) I couldnt believe my luck with what i won, sadly, i was outbid on Scott Bakula but hey, three out of five aint bad. I had no idea there was going to be so many autographs available else i would have saved more pocket money lol (I hope the other folks weren;t too upset at me winning) Thanks for a really great weekend, the auctions were great. Sorry to hear that the Back to the Future lots didn't enter as planned, but hey, there is always next time:)
  15. Hi folks, I was there all weekend, from the Friday Night preview, all day Saturday and most of Sunday. In case you saw me, I was the guy wearing the navy polo shirt with "Emerald Garrison" and i was lucky enough to have got a crew pass as i was representing "Following The Nerd." I had never attended an event like the LFCC before and was totally unsure what to expect. The layout was brilliant along with the maps you had placed at various points round the center were a real help. Ok, there were a number of really big queues on Saturday due to Karen Gilliam but this was to be expected. I know the crew were under a lot of pressure esoecially with the photogrpahs towards the end of the day, but lets face it, with the high volume of crowds I am well impressed that you were able to have the all of the photo's processed before closing, well done:) I especially want to thank the crew and pit bosses (especially "Kev") for aloowoing me to interview a few of the guests on Friday and Sunday. I am extremely grateful for these interviews and so are our listeners. All of the picture andinterviews will be posted on the "Following The Nerd" facebook and website: www,followingthenerd.com. Oh, the iggest surprise was the auction. I couldn't believe my luck that i was able to pick up so many star trek autographs at the auction, thank you. All in all, this was the best weekend of my; i did pass my thanks on the pit boss on Sunday Afternoon at the main booth, gave her my card and asked her to thank everyone. Thank you to all of the crew, pit bosses, show organisers and everyone involved for making this event happen. Phil Wilce
  16. I don't know about the rest of you, but i would love to turn up in a kilt, iron jumper and walking stick and say to Christopher Lambert, "This is only one Highlander" lol
  17. Hi folks, I just want to say a rally big thank you to ALL of the SM staff and mods who have answered my queries and posted some very helpful information for my first ever film con. I am really looking forward to attending this all weekend and I hope to get to meet a few of you, especially Too Tall, David B, and 1of2, you folks are brilliant, thanks again, Phil
  18. Wow, that is a very impressive list, well done SM:) So my planned Friday "gentle stroll around the stalls and auction items" has now been replaced with "meet the guests" followed by a brisk walk and a glance lol Oh and i get to meet a cast member from "Aliens", how much better a start could yuo get for this weekend, and in 24hrs i'll already be on my way to it WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!
  19. I would love a double photo of Buck Rogers too!! A Dr Who and Ace double would also be nice:)
  20. Totally agree with the above post, if a special guest arrives and you didn't bring that item you wanted signed, it really isnt the end of the world. There seems to be a number of places in the LFCC where you will be able to pick up a photo or maybe even some merchandise with their image on it. Personally, the only guest that could be announced to make me want to travel back to belfast to pick up a poster of her would be Carrie Fisher, then again, if she did attend the LFCC i would get a picyure with her:)
  21. That really is a flying visit, hope you get everything you're after:)
  22. Same Here, I'm flying out of George Best on BMI at 12:50 to Heathrow (Thats Belfast City Airportfor those that are not sure lol)
  23. Hi folks, this will be my first film and comic convention and I really can't wait. An entire weekend of guests, photo's, auctions and loads of other stuff to buy. I am really looking forward to it, for a fan boy like me it's going to be the best weekend EVER!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Hi SM/Mods, quick question. I know from a previous thread it said there are still tickets available for most of the photo oop's, do you know if there are any still available for the special Christopher Lloyd/Delorean photo shoot on the Sunday?? Thanks:)
