  1. The one thing I'd add to this is that you get a bit more time to chat in the autographs, so you can always meet them first and let them know your doing a photo-shoot and what pose your thinking off. It's a long day for a guest so just a gentle reminder once you see them again before the photo is taken.
  2. Both days have a cosplay competition, they tend to happen near the end of the event so if you want to enter be prepared to stick around the whole day.
  3. Sunday is always quieter, so shouldn't have too long to wait if at all.
  4. Yeah, I've see that happen every time I've been to bump up how much something is going for. Personally I see that as a bit pointless even putting a bid down, it's not a true auction in my eyes just a free for all for whoever has the most money.
  5. Yep, all the talks are completely free. You just need to turn up, so it's a good idea to know what times they are on so you can get a good seat. The guests also typically have a Q&A during the talk too, so always great to have any burning questions prepared you might want answered.
  6. To be honest you should be fine with just getting door tickets, unless your turning up well after 12 it's highly unlikely it'll sell out before that time.
  7. Unless they are a zombie, in which case they always kinda look like they are on deaths door, but just cause they want to eat your brains doesn't mean they don't have feelings!
  8. Just to add to my previous comment, it is obviously still nice to ask anyone if your taking photos / videos of them in particular (cosplayers, guests, that hot girl you just spotted, etc)
  9. No you don't need to be part of any company or official and you don't actually need permission. Anyone that attends the event gives automatic consent to any and all photography and or video footage they may feature in during the course of the event. Everyone is encouraged to take pictures / video, it's always great to see the conversation through other peoples eyes.
  10. Definitely have a limit and a budget to how much you want to get/spend, I recommend taking cash and try not to use a card. Have an idea which guests you most want to see, this will help keep you focused on the day. Know what times the photo-shoots are, and get to know the layout of the arena so you don't panic last minute. Go to the guest talks they are all completely free and get announced just as each one starts. Hang around to the end and you can watch the cosplay competition/ masquerade Most importantly, have fun!
  11. Not 100% I will even have a cosplay to be honest, like last year I have pretty tight cash flow so anything I do will be very last minute. (I sense my go to zombie possibly making yet another appearance)
  12. If your going early doors you will be fine, this is more for the after 11 crowd, the later you arrive the bigger the line to get in will be.
  13. @Ashen, Cosplay is whatever you make I and what you feel comfortable in. Your idea sounds fine to me, only one question why a blue sock and not a back one?
  14. I love the style of those prints, what's the name of the seller Mathewman?
  15. That's great news, I'm thinking anyone who is hoping to have a Michael Biehn Alien Hive photo is probably best paying for a photo shoot as normal and let the man himself know what your after and hopefully he will be able to oblige, without any official confirmation one way or the other though we'll just need to hope for the best. That said if a good handful of folk are all asking then it'll obviously be worth his time to make a visit to the UKCM table, and he'll know himself this will encourage a good number of autos too with passers-by
  16. It's a shame as for as long as the show has been running we have yet to get any movie/tv vehicle, it would be nice to get something more than a few photo-shoots since it doesn't look likely we'll get any BTTF guests.
  17. I think a cool extra like this definitely would make a huge difference in the turnout for the Alien fans.
  18. I think some of the crew will be there as usual, though i'm not sure if they have a table or not, perhaps ShowMasters could confirm this? The Alien Hive would be a fantastic addition especially if Michael Biehn could be included in a photo shoot. I think that's not something the UKCM themselves can arrange so we would need to show it's a viable option to ShowMasters.
  19. He did actually forget his glove last time he was here, though luckily for him a fan was on hand to lend his. Last we heard said fan had adorned the glove as an unholy icon!
  20. This years list is actually very strong for Glasgow. It's a good mix which is something that always goes down well here.
  21. We have this discussion every year without fail. Glasgow is a smaller event and will never be anything like the huge shows while it remains in the Braehead Arena. And part of me likes it that way, our show offers a far more friendly and intimate experience, with plenty of time to chat to guests and listen to them talk about their time in the roles that they are best known for. What I would say is (and I've said it before) this is ShowMasters only Scottish event and it's been a good long time since they have given a proper big show a chance, I think that time is now, especially since Glasgow now has the Hydro.
  22. @Ashen, there's not an actual changing area no, unfortunately you'll need to make do with the toilets or just turn up in character which personally is much more fun. Any weapons need to be lightweight, non-lethal and aren't too realistic. You should also check in at the cosplay desk, which you'll typically find near the main stage so any props you have can be checked.
  23. UPDATE: Turns out this is actually a fake Instagram account, which has now been deleted
