  1. im actually looking forward to this.. i just hope they release a new season before people start to forget about it/lose interest. and for once my mums going with me lol just looked at the VIP price : holymotheroffudgingearth how can ANYONE afford to spend £1000 on a ticket like that... just off the cuff?! i mean... wooooaaaaahhhhhh unless u got the price wrong.. thats a loooooooot to pay
  2. I'm not sure why you feel that way. As far as I can tell, only ONE person replied to your original post. Is that correct? You make it sound like everyone ganged up on you and told you to shut up. No one is 'getting away with it' - everyone's entitled to reply to whatever posts they want. Perhaps it won't be to every single post, but it doesn't mean you're being victimised. You really shouldn't see it that way. No one's picking on you *cries dramatically* but you all hate meeeeeee mwaaaaaahhhh *joke* i dont feel like you're ganging up on me. but you can deny it all you like... but there are some people that do have doublestandards. - okay.. me included. dont hate..... appreciate
  3. see when you say stuff like that, you get away with it. if i was to say it id get people telling me to be grateful and to shut up. i totally agree with you. although i got standard, i feel that the effort getting to northampton and the hotel cost is more than its worth tbh. i'm sure i'll have fun. but... i might not.
  4. People can express opinions, but I'm fairly sure if you're posting them on this forum, you're expecting someone to reply right? I don't like people being called "followers" of Showmasters just because they don't criticise them, and they're actually happy. That's a little unfair. As for everything else, that's fine. It's your opinion, and you are allowed to express it. But yeah, if you're wanting to express yours, I think you need to let others do the same without calling them 'followers' i dont mind people replying. but i get the feeling sometimes that others can get away with saying things and i cant. might be paranoia, might be true. who knows. i certainly dont. the truth is out there.
  5. Well if you actually read the threads pinned at the top of the forum before having a rant, then you may see that it's quite evident they're making a humongous effort to bring us a range of activities to fill up the weekend that most other people seem to be 1) excited about and 2) appreciative of. Maybe that doesn't make up for "meeting famous people" for some, but surprisingly enough other fans come because they actually like the fandom as well. Meeting people who are just as enthusiastic about it and all that. Perhaps even having fun? A PPP workshop for example seems pretty fun (and damn inventive too - obviously not a result of poor effort) to me. Not "kinda pointless" (in which case why bother going?). I'm not sure if that's supposed to be a complaint about Showmasters. But they run events for fans. It's their job. We can't complain if there are lots of events we want to go to. Though I guess that's a problem in itself. The Twilight mentality, and the fact that there are so many more people around who are part of it. It seems to be more of a "we all like these books and movies with - oooohh - pretty actors we just /have/ to meet" thing than the HP fandom that seems in my opinion to be more community-centered. Notice that most previous huge HP conventions (mainly USA I suppose) are more about meeting up and being rabid geeks /together/ whilst not being laughed at for running around in cloaks...than hero worship, like you see at Twicon etc. (Not that I will ever complain about meeting Kellan Lutz xD) So the fact that we have the possibility of guests at all could even be seen as a huge bonus! well.... i wasnt having a rant. i was just expressing my opinion. seems to me that people cant 'express opinions' on here much anymore because some people take it out of context. everything i said i stand by. just because some people are 'followers' of showmasters... lol. all i say is, SM shouldnt say they aim to get ... whatever amount of guests they hope to get, and then dont. cos there are a lot of fans that assume that will automatically happen, and then you get this problem where it doesnt. if say they just announced as time goes on... that i could understand. i know people dont care what i say so its all good, im just saying. other than money wise.. i dont have a problem against showmasters. i just wish some people wouldnt get so damned preachy about them as if they are all gods. they work to organise, they do their best, and i am grateful, but like i said, they aint gods lol. nuff said but i am now soooo pleased natalia tena's band is going... although i'm guessing nat is going too? or if she isnt, the rest of her band is taking over haha... and along with everyone else.... i like lost lol but yeh david... we'll keep it to harry potter.... i always think that these conventions should have a 30 day guarantee or something lol but i know that aint ever gonna happen. grrr lol so yeah.. i see another guest has been announced... bout time too 1 thing tho... i am NOT looking forward to traffic on way to northampton! haha if i knew more people going... it wouldnt be so bad, cos i aint so good at just going up to someone.
  6. okay so i dont often post on here, well, i do, but on the twilight ones haha. for less than a week to go before the con, i am gonna give it a 50-1 chance of another (or main ) guest being announced. im not the biggest fan of showmasters.. sorry.... but i go because its not like any other organisation is holding fan events is it?! *tumbleweed blows* lol i feel sorry for the gold ticket holders. also i find it fascinating how over what is in fact 2 days, SM are gonna fill the days up with autographs and talks - with only 3 minor guests... hmmmmm interesting eh?! i mean, im taking a big stab in the dark here, but im guessing there isnt many people going to this event since - based on the fact that there are still tickets left (dunno how many tho). usually SM go the "once we get enough money in we can get more guests" route. but this time its for charity... you would think there would be a rush for celebs so they cld get more people to buy tickets. (also, at least 75% of the people going or wanting to go are fans of twilight aswell, so i would say most of these people are poor now because of 3 eternal twilights and the proms.... ) so yeah... i mean, i am not that optomistic about MM and tbh am not looking that much forward to it.... i dont really know anyone going.. other than my roommate of course... and apart from having time away from home.... its kinda pointless.... the only other upside is that standard ticket isnt £80 like usual. thankgod for that! no way would i even think of goin if it was lol and I have never even met Matt Lewis before, so YES PLEASE to meeting him! lol altho its not like u actually get to "meet" them per-se.. its more a "hi" and "bye" with no proper conversation inbetween..... i always feel like stabling myself to the table so they cant escape me... that being if they had a brick wall either side of the table and couldnt get out..... damned imagination.... lol what a long talk... im so used to talking to myself.. this feels slightly normal... ahhhh the horror! lol ps.. i was signed up to going to the abrams con.... *sobs* may they rest in piece.. i mean peace heeheehee
  7. i really wish i was going to this as i have recently become a true blood fan... (8 episodes in 3 days... not quite as much as 12, but getting there lol) but unfortunately i can't go cos im on a twilight cruise during these dates. grrr lol i love love love twilight... but i have fallen for bill compton - stephen moyer lol i find it ironic that the two vamps in my life are both british hahaha
  8. some of you all diss kristen, but face it, if it was anyone else playing bella, you still wouldnt be happy. just cos kristen acts shy and not public friendly, dont make her a bad person. i hope she turns up for at least one convention other than comic con in the future
  9. i am G15! so i think thats group 1 /maybe 2, not too sure
  10. looks like on the poll that no one is attending either days hhaa i chose sunday tho there also my mate aswell
  11. hey, im 23, look about 13, but hey, i really am 23 lol ive been to a few hp cons. one in the uk and 2 in usa.
  12. i dont think i'll be going cos i got eternal twilight 2 and if the other two are having the same guests, in my view, its kinda pointless. even if london is nearer for me. i may go to the mugglemayhem thats been announced though.
  13. Nop, I actually think they beleive that people in general are going to buy tickets before several guests are announced. From what they have said in the past, in particular when Jason said that he expected the Gold tickets to sell like hot cakes when the next guest is announced (which turned out to be Michael) and of course they didnt. I am convinced without any doubt here that Showmasters have got the wrong end of the stick when it comes to why this event failed. They expected tickets to sell sell sell when they announced that Ben from Lost was coming, and I knew all along they wouldnt. It all comes back to this catch 22 situation. If showmasters see past this redundant excuse and organised a Lost Con with at least 10 months notice including at least 4 MAIN characters announced at that time, then I would put my money where my mouth is - I would cover any losses they made from the event providing none of the guests cancel before the event, or if they do cancel - a suitable replacement is provided. Why would I say this...As I know this would work...I know the fan base is there and I know that it can happen. Lets say you sell 100 Gold Tickets at £195 Thats £19,500 And 100 Silver at £125 Thats £15,625 And 100 Std tixs at £95 Thats £9,500 That would be £44,625 revenue. Now I know the fees involved for bringing the stars to cos and out of respect I am not going to post that information on here, but if Showmasters are reading this - You know that its well within that figure for at least 4 main characters and to still have plenty left over to cover the other costs. I do beleive that more than 100 tickets of each type would sell if good guests were announced which would then give you more income...you know how it goes from there. yeah i totally agree with you on this one. as much as i like showmasters cos the events they hold do have celebrities. i stick with what my mate said : showmasters rob you. which ok, is a bit extreme, but compared to other cons, the cost of things arent exactly cheap. but hey, i like celebs, so i cant really complain. but i do think £15 for an autograph is a bit much. i hardly doubt a guest costs 20\30, 000 each. so really, better planning for cons is what is needed. more idea of who is going to go is needed also. woo hoo look at me sounding all swish lol im so gutted this con was canceled. i just hope the housebroken one next year isnt canceled. or more importantly..... eternal twilight 2.. haha doubt it somehow.
  14. EDITED by QS: Sorry, I have to step in here. We've made an exception and bent the rules when other events came up in another thread here in the last couple of days, but this was due to people being concerned about guests possibly cancelling etc. But the forum rules say you can not talk about other events. Making up a topic about meeting at another show is definitely a no.
