TheAngelicOne
Since i'm nearly googled out. Does anyone know of a shop that will make my John jacket? Would do it myself but i'm too busy and well i'm hopeless lol. Any help would be much appreciated and give me less stress.
debsmadcat111
If you can get to Kidderminster theres a shop on Comberton Hill that sells identical ones. I think they have a website too?
TheAngelicOne
Cool. Do you know the price range for them? and possibly the link to the website? Really want to get the jacket out of the way and worry about the smaller parts later. Edited October 23, 2008 by TheAngelicOne
debsmadcat111
It was £35 last time I looked I think? I tried one on in the shop and they were the proper genuine ones!!! I cant actually find the website right now? But I know Hayz (darknesshayz) ordered one off the website, may be worth asking her?
DarknessHayz
It cost around £39.99, as Debs said, I did order one and thats how much it cost, and that included delevery, you'd have to give me time to find out what shop it was, as I can not remember. Ob you'll have to add the extra bits to it, like I got my mum to do :), but all in all it is a good coat. :)
TheAngelicOne
Thanks, its much appreciated. I have tried asking a local fancy dress shop to make it but they won't because its copyrighted.
TheAngelicOne
And just rang the BBC to ask for permission lol. So fingers crossed.
DarknessHayz
I found a link:- http://www.surplusandoutdoors.com/ishop/877/shopscr2688.html. I am not sure if that is the same place I got mine, but it looks similer to the one I have :). Or just go on http://www.surplusandoutdoors.com, to have a look at the other stuff. TheAngelicOne
Well i've emailed them but they don't stock any ones like Johns. Back to begging the BBC for permission lol. I'm so not making it myself. It will come out wrong.
TurkFox
My friend had his Cpt Jack coat made by someone in the US. If you want a costume made, you'd be best off searching for people who do cosplay commissions rather than just dressmakers/tailors.
TheAngelicOne
Thanks. I've spoken to someone at a fancy dress shop who deals with the BBC a lot and they've told me to ask them for permission. So i've got to wait up to ten days for a telephone call from the BBC to say yes or no, i've explained what I need the jacket for so hopefully they'll take pity on me. Then its the whole BBC writing the shop a letter and then I can finally have it quoted and made. Thank god, i've decided to get the costume sorted now instead of a month before. One good thing, I have my toy Samurai sword so something lol.

I'm so not making it myself. It will come out wrong. Im confused? They used to promote it as 'the coat like Captain Jacks' on their website! So unless they've been told not to do that anymore? And when I went in the shop they knew exactly which one I was looking for! (its round the corner from me)
TurkFox
debsmadcat111 - she's on about Captain John, I think. If I'd had mine made I'd put you in contact, but I made it myself.
