jamesthehorse
What’s this tie-up with 10th Planet's Terry Nation Convention all about? As far as I’m aware, doesn’t Autographica sold itself for being fairly unique. Are these new partners?, is this a new sister convention?. How does the supply of these guests differ from the other agency used? Wouldn’t this tie-up be more suited to Collectormania? * I don’t think this question brakes any rules, because I’m just trying to understand wording in the announcement. SciFiMAD
"For several years now 10th Planet have run some of the most successful specialist conventions in the UK; Derek and Paul from 10th Planet are great guys, and we get on well with them. Showmasters has now finalised negotiations with 10th Planet to unite with their existing portfolio of events and in the next coming months we will be launching some new and exciting projects outside of the Dr. Who conventions that 10th Planet are so well known for. Showmasters has always felt there is a lack of conventions for some of the most popular tv shows and films, and in joining with 10th Planet we hope to cater for the fans’ needs." Showmaster posted this months ago so would explain the link to Autographica

SciFiMAD
Hopefully this link on the Tenth Planet Website is acceptable for posting here. It has all the info you need .... Looks like it is two events in one, Autographica + Terry Nation as 10th Planet are selling different tickets for it on there site compared with the normal Autographica tickets. Could Showmasters/Dave Phillips make a statement or something about what is happening, do we need two tickets to one for autographica + one for Terry Nation or if we buy one we have access to both. My brain is dead just thinking of the costs.
dufresne
Posted on another forum by Tenth Planet : Basiclly the Terry Nation Convention is being held in the same hotel, if you wanted to see our guests just for autographs without paying for a convention ticket you can do so, it will cost you the £15 entrance charge for Autographica and each of our guests will be charging per autograph this way. If you buy a Terry Nation Tribute Full Weekend Ticket at £70, you do not have to pay the £15 entrance charge for Autographica. All Showmasters/Autographica guests will be charging for autographs. It makes sense to buy a Convention Ticket as that way you get to see the whole Terry Nation Tribute Convention as well as getting FREE autographs included in your ticket price from the guests at the Terry Nation Tribute! It is not stated explicitly, but I assume TNC attendees can access "other" Autographica guests and purchase autos as normal .....
SciFiMAD
I normally get a Autographica - Gold Pass, what I want to know is do I have to pay any extra is I wanted to see any of the Terry Nation Convention Guests?
dufresne
The way I understand it, you can access all guests by buying a ticket for either. Obviously an Autographica Gold gets you early admission and into the drinks reception etc, whereas the TNC ticket gets you free autos from their guests. Depends which you would rather have I suppose ....
jamesthehorse
So forgive me for wanting more clarification. Does this mean we get the usual number of ‘Autographica’ standard guests, AND these ‘Terry Nation’ folk are additional? Or are these guests now part of our usual allocation?. To me this whole ‘Terry Nation’ idea, is kinda cheapening the event up a little bit.
Vanna
Confused much?! I know I am. But hopefully all will become clear nearer the actual event. I have to say, to me it's looking very interesting... a couple more Survivors and the two remaining Champions (or at least one??) would make it absolutely unmissable! Good going SMs! Moderators Dave Phillips Posted January 16, 2008 Moderators Share Posted January 16, 2008 Hello Guys If you are all getting confused. Don't. !!!! Fairly simple this one, Buy your tickets in exactly the same way that you always do. All the guests will be available for purchasing signatures in the usual way. You will have access to all the guests exactly the same as every other Autographica. Hope that clears it up. Dave
jamesthehorse
Dave may I just ask for one answer? Is this additional to what we usually have?, or are these monkeys muscling in on our usually high quality guest list?.

jamesthehorse
Indeed, the Internet Protocol address system is quite simply a magical thing. But forgive me for wanting to get the thread back on track. Are these guys 'additional' to the usual guest list size?
