jedicouncil
the book must have came out before the prequel films. As far Lucas is concearned only the films are his true vision of SW so they take precendence over all of the books
Skylover
it was stated in the old SW novelizations, but its not true.
Keeper
depends how you look at it... i mean, the novels were based on the universe as known at the time. if the prequels have altered the universe, are they still part of it or are they a splinter from it? sometimes the universe is what the fans see it to be, rather than the creator... if the creator's vision has changed, or is too self centered, for example... Lady of The Realm
I don't like the EU anyway, so I take little notice. What's in the films, is what is, to me.
lord_azael
so would it be fair to say it IS true, if i consider the prequel films to be pointless and the cause of a million loopholes?
Keeper
essentially, yep - it depends on what you consider to be part of the universe of star wars
A007
Depends on your "point of view"! EG "From my point of view the jedi are evil!"
Keeper
of course, but if you're actually sticking with the mythos they're good its accurate to say that if its written, its part of the universe, and the films that override the info contained in the books are either one or both sets of trilogies
lord_azael
From my point of view the jedi are evil lol...they are also rather stupid
