I saw Oliver and James this weekend (unfortunately, the rules won't allow me to say where!), and got a bunch of pictures of them with BROWN HAIR!!

Don't they look great with their natural hair color?

I'm in the midst of revamping my website, where I'll have a ton of the shots from this series. Watch out for my web site icon to reappear :P

Hi there!

Well, I've got lots of pics, but the lighting there was AWFUL!!! I'm in the process of looking at each image and seeing what needs to be done about adjusting the light, color, and whatever. That image of Oliver, for instance, was SO dark his face was absolutely maroon! Happily they're high-res originals, but frankly, the large shots, even corrected, are so grainy they look best at this 1/4 size. When I get my web site back up, I'll post them in small image, the 1/4 size, and in the full size. There's 40-50 pics in the set, and I think I can rescue most of them. Thank goodness I'm the Photo Auror!

Thanks, Jeanette... high praise coming from you! I really respect your own graphics work .

The problem was that the lighting was pretty low, and they were too far away for a flash to reach. The pics were taken at a 10x zoom. I've got a few in better lighting, but I haven't gotten to them yet :).

I'll let you know when I've got the web site back up.

If you're gonna do the house elf thing, ya gotta do it the RIGHT way! LOL!

EDIT: The web site is back up. I have those four pics in the original hi-res size and a nice approximate screen size :)

I'll continue working on the pics and get them loaded as fast as I can

Actually... no. I was pretty sure no one would be interested in seeing the twins standing next to a woman pushing 60 ;).

LOL! Actually, I AM making my pics for everyone else ;). The explanation is on my web site in the "WHY is the Photo Auror?" section.

I gave Oliver a t-shirt and baseball cap from Florida State University (Tallahassee), and James got a t-shirt and baseball cap from University of Florida (Gainsville). I said to Oliver, "Don't wear that in Central Florida," to James, "...don't wear that in North Florida,"... and to both, "...and don't wear EITHER of them in Atlanta!" (where we were). That drew some guffaws from the people in line around me, since those are three rival teams--along with the University of Georgia-- one of which wins the national championship almost every year (in US-type football). The rivalry is hot and furious, and I figured that since the boys are into rival teams...

And I got some fascinating feedback from my Stealth Sources in the event organization's security. Their security team was made up of off-duty police officers, correctional officers (prison guards and parole officers), and military... and a LOT of them were women. They took up positions around the event dressed in either Darth Vader or Stormtrooper armour, and their helmets were concealing radio headsets that they used to communicate with each other. If they talked softly into the radio mikes, no one without a radio tuned in to the right frequency could hear what was being said under the helmets. And when a celebrity was escorted through from one place to another, they would track the progress over the radio.

Anyhow, one of my Stealth Sources who was listening in on her own headset snitched on the Phelps report when they were escorted from the signing area to their first talk:

"Position XX, eye-candy heading your way, on the up-escalator."

"I see them. Whoo, darlin's! Come to mama!"

"I had no idea that were THAT cute!"

"Yup... those are some mighty FINE-looking boys!"

"Hooo... darlin'! Bend over like that AGAIN!"

"Yow!"

"Whoaaaa!"

"Nice bottoms!"

(Harrassed-sounding male voice:)"Do we REALLY need this on the security frequency?"

"Roger!"

"Ten-four!"

;)B):P

I couldn't believe what was going on under those helmets! But then, on the other hand, these boys DO tend to bring out the "construction worker" in otherwise perfectly civilized women!

Tallahassee, that is where my friend was for uni, although she currently moved back with her parents to save a bit more before uni.

Good for her :). Tallahassee is where I live . FSU is a great school. I didn't go there myself (I attended Rollins College, a liberal arts school, in Winter Park, which is now one of Orlando's "bedroom" cities, since that's the area I was living at the time), but my Dad graduated from FSU back in 1961. He was the first man to graduate there with a degree in Home Economics (he was a nutritionist) :P. The Omicron Nu sorority made him an honorary "sister" and everything  .

A couple of months ago, there was a hoo-raw from the NCAA (National College Athletics Association) for unis with "Indian" mascots to change their mascots to something "less offensive and abusive", and the FSU Seminoles were at the top of their list! I can understand some of the school mascots that were listed are considered offensive, but FSU has been respectful of the Seminoles. Happily, the Seminole Tribe of Florida stepped forward and pretty much told the NCAA to get lost. They've got a unique relationship with FSU, and were outraged that the NCAA seemed to find something "offensive" about the name "Seminoles".

No one messes with the Seminoles. They're the only tribe the US has fought that remains undefeated... the reason FSU chose them as their mascot. Their undefeated status gives them a completely different attitude from the other tribes in the nation. They're literally an autonomous nation within the borders of Florida, have never signed a peace treaty with the US Government, and many an agent from the Bureau of Indian Affairs has been drop-kicked off their land. They have six settlement areas ("We stole them from Spain fair and square," a prior Seminole official once commented!) that the white settlers just sort of tip-toed around when the Florida Frontier opened up in the 1800's... everyone knew that there was no treaty with the Seminoles, so they didn't bother them at all. Anyway, they came forward and wrote a polite letter to the NCAA explaining that FSU operates with their name with the tribe's blessings and support, and have a unique relationship with the school, but overheard private comments from Tribal Council President Max Osceola have been... uh... interesting, like the comment where President Osceola wondered what the NCAA found "offensive" about their tribal name. It was all pretty worrysome for a while (it's extremely expensive for a major uni to change mascots), but the real Seminoles were sensational. The NCAA dropped their threatened lawsuit against FSU because of the tribal support :D.

Some people are just weird!

Good for the Seminoles *nod*

Reese, that is cool about your dad

For you or anyone who is interested, there's a couple of videos of the Seminole Resolution that affirms the relationship between the tribe and the school on this FSU web page here:

Seminole Resolution

The vid titled "FSU thanks Seminoles..." is a good, generic news report, the other an official reading of the Resolution.

This Resolution was an historic action the tribe took demonstrating support, and was done in addition to the letter sent to the NCAA. This article and the vids were done just before the NCAA gave up :).

As for my Dad, he had a great sense of humor and used to get teased about being in a "woman's" profession. His stock answer was, "Well... I see you're in a man's field. But I'm the one surrounded by women all day every day!" That used to set them back a few paces! LOL! :D
