Butterscotch
I'd disappeared to the bottom of the page, so before I disappear completely, I've brought myself back up to the top. Had a love time visiting Valencia and Alicante and places in between. Thoroughly enjoyed myself at C8 - probably the most enjoyable time I've had to date. Thank you Showmasters. If anyone wants to play, just look back to the previous entry. Look forward to hearing from you.
crusty
Hi Butterscotch Glad you had a good time in Spain and at C8 Only managed to visit C8 on the Friday and got everything done really quickly Answers to your clues that I have so far:- 1) Peregrin Took 4) Mordor 5) John Leigh struggling on 2) and 3) at the moment Take care Crusty
Butterscotch
Hi Crusty - lovely to hear from you. I was there the Friday as well - I got William Shatner and Wayne Pigram that day and Paul Norell came up to my friend and I, and told us off for not saying hello to him (we last met him a month previously at the another show and sat at his table at the official dinner and had lots of opportunity to talk with him) and he invited us to join him as his guests for dinner - so you can see why I think C8 was the best! I am so lucky n'est pas? All over now - back to reality and I thought you might like some clues to No.2 and No. 3 No2. Is a character found in the book but not in the film (Hence, Reading it) Think of something that destroys big-time and a herb that goes with fish, say in Gravalax. Put the two together and the answer should be there. No3. Supporting Cast member, "Hobbit, resident of Hobbiton" in the Fellowship of the Ring - the clue can be broken down to give the answer. Clue to the first name (friend of St.Paul) He has two books in the new testiment and it starts with T. His name, followed by tuppance is an expression I recall from my childhood, although I don't know where it has come from, possibly a book. The surname is the same as Martin Sheen's president in "The West Wing". I hope that helps you get the last two clues.
crusty
Hi Butterscotch I saw Wayne Pygram (looked more like Picard than Tarkin in the flesh) as well but didn't bother with Shatner as I felt my money could be better spent elsewhere - and it was! What day were you at TFF? - I only made the Saturday but managed to get all of the autos I needed save Daniel Falconer who was always somewhere else - never mind Anyway answers :- 2) Bombadil - just guessing as I think this only has 8 letters - but perhaps it is double L which would fit the clue better 3) Timothy Bartlett - got the Timothy before but have never watched West Wing so struggled with the surname Take care Crusty
Butterscotch
Hi Crusty - So, you're the one! Wayne had said that someone had said that to him! I think he was a bit perturbed with the comparison. (But I can see where you're coming from). When we had dinner with Paul, my friend sat to his right and Wayne was on the other side of her. She said he seemed very shy. We chatted away to him though and he was interesting company. At TFF my friend and I had gold passes for all three days and had specifically asked for the Saturday night dinner as they had said that Billy would make an appearance. An appearance was all that it was, but it didn't matter because the whole occasion was excellent, especially when all the young guys took off their shirts and did the Haka! - and even Paul joined in the entertainment, singing an amusing song and then in a jamming session on the piano, with Joel and I think Jed on guitar. Did you go to the Dinner, the Party or neither? We followed the guests after the dinner to the party, but only stayed for about a half hour while the guests played again. You have the last two answers right, so I would give you 5 more questions but I only have the work computer and am only here because I was on a training course today, so I don't have the paperwork with me. I'm on a night shift tomorrow, so I'll put the next five questions in then. See you

Butterscotch
Hello again crusty. I'm so glad you are still playing. We are getting to the end, but I do have a few more questions that will at least keep us going until the end of the year. I think we can ignore the bit you didn't get in question 1 (it was "Master" Erestor). It always amazes me that you get them. Butterscotch
From a quick inspection! wow! well, as you can guess, they are all correct. I have to admit to having only four more questions left and then we shall have to say goodbye to the game. Maybe something will grab my attention enough to try something like this again, but I'm afraid I'm hooked on sudoku at the moment. I will check for your answers in a weeks time. Until then..... 1] The Thrill of one Leaf found here is golden. (L.10) 2] He lies in it, not south east of the Anduin. Butterscotch
Hello Crusty. I wish you a very happy New Year also. I hope you enjoyed your Christmas. I did, even though I had a heavy cold and had to work Christmas morning! A very late Christmas "lunch" was in my ex brother-in-law's pub with open fires - very cosy. As always, you have all the answers correct. I am sorry to say goodbye to the game, but interest waned to such a degree that it had become just a game between the two of us and as much as I enjoy these comuniques, it really has died a death. I and my friend shall be at G-Mex. Flying up with Jet2 from LGW and of course shall be attending C9 at MK. If you see two middle-aged large women with long hair and specs. - you may have found my friend and me - it would be great to say hi. For me, there are definate visits to Avery Brooks, Michael Shanks and Andy Serkis at G-Mex and Diana Muldaur and Mira Furlan at C9 with possibly others also. I'll look into this thread from time to time in case you chose to reply to this. Bye for now.
