  1. So, SFX, as someone who settles my annual subscription in one go, and I only started another year a couple of months ago, it means I don't get those advantages, as I am already snared!....or are you going to annual members the chance of a signature as well?
  2. Really want to see Paul Norell again but voted for Marton Csorkas in 3rd choice list as have never met before. However, if Paul could come as well, none would be happier than me. Have always admired Hugo Weaving so voted for him in first choice list but really want to meet the whole "A" list. As someone else mentioned earlier, Missed C4 due to stupidly booking a holiday over the event days and Dom is the only one of the Hobbit foursome that I have still to meet, so if that could be achieved one day soon, that would be fantastic. I've met everyone on the second choice list, so I voted for Andy who is always so generous with his time and has such a kind nature, although it was touch and go between him and JRD who I imagine would be terrific company at such an event seeing as he is so nice at regular conventions. I agree about the backroom guys and the many Orcs, Urak-hai, Ringwraiths and stuntmen and doubles. Also, whatabout Ngila Dickson talking about costume design or Liz Millane taking about casting in New Zealand or Tony Woolf about creating and teaching the cultural fighting skills or George Marshal Ruge the Stunt-Co-ordinator talking about his job orHoward Shore to talk about scoring the music. There are just so many people that could be invited and they would all be so very interesting.
  3. If you could get Patrick Stewart that would be really awesome. It would be nice to meet any Star Trek actors from any series however small their parts and especially if they haven't come before or who came to your first shows, before I knew about them, like the man who played Morn in DS9 who came to Collectormania 1
  4. I met Jeffrey Combs and found him to be really interesting to talk to. I only got one character picture signed, so I would love to meet him agan and get a signature on the photo of another character (Star Trek)
  5. Yes please, Nana Visitor. You nearly had her come once but she had to cancel, please try again. Plus the names that Lizzy mentioned, especially those actors that haven't been before. In fact any ST actors from any ST series that haven't been before, however small their parts.
  6. As a Star Trek fan I would love Jeri Ryan to come to a convention. Even if she was really standoffish, as long as I could get her signature I would be very pleased in order to get a complete set. She was also in Dark Skies which was a favourite Sci-Fi TV series of mine. As was Eric Close who is presently in Without a Trace but has done several Sci-Fi TV things before that and I'd like to meet him, just because I've enjoyed everything that he's been in.
  7. I just wish you had cancelled it in the first place. Having just amended my hotel reservations and my annual leave at work and re-booked by flights which again, were non transferable and non refundable, I am now out of pocket by over £100, as is my friend and convention companion - a lot of expense and no benefit. I know we have reasonably well paid jobs but we don't have money to burn. Much as I want a Ring Con, when exactly at the end of the year would you have it? Its in Germany in October and with G-Mex in 17-18 Nov and Fed Con the week after ...you will be coming so close to Christmas and I work weekends which means I would have to save all my holiday leave for that time of year and would have no money left for presents ....or are you thinking of squeezing it in between Germany and G-Mex? Personnally, I would prefer a month between each of your conventions as I do enjoy the opportunity of attending them all. Wouldn't it be best to leave it until January or February 2008?
  8. How about Brighton Its good enough for political party conferences, should have plenty of venues. Beach nearby. Plenty of hotels, B&B etc. although the Youth Hotel's a bit far out. 9. I nearly wet myself with excitement when I saw his face on the website - first day back from my hols. Showmasters, you have outdone yourself with a terrific lineup. I am going to be in so much debt as I have every intention of getting autographs of quite a number of your guests. Any chance that David would do a photo opportunity as I suspect his queue will be too busy to be allowed photos at his signature point??????? I'll let my european contacts know if they havn't spotted him on the website by now.
  10. Did anyone go to the Star Trek Experience that was in London a couple of years ago. I went twice I enjoyed it so much. They had computers with Star trek questions and depending on how many questions you got right, you were assigned a status - I think Ensign was the lowest and you became Captain if you got them all right. I am the wrong side of middle age but was jumping up and down like a kid when I made Captain by getting all my questions correct. Also at the Experience was a couple of those machines that rock around on a platform and you are shut inside and the screen makes you think you're inside a spaceship and such. The first time I went, the machine really threw people around and I was holding on with all my force. It was really shook up but so exilherating I just had to go again! The next time I visited they had tamed it down - shame. But that would be popular and could be for an extra charge if need be. There was also the displays of costumes, scenery bits and bobs etc. and the piece de resistance, being taken through a mock up of the Enterprise and into a turbo lift. At that point, you heard one of the crew telling the captain that something had gone wrong in the turbo lifts and smoke started coming in. You are rescued and end up on the flight deck. Great fun. Plus there were little things like a machine that could make all the different Star Trek noises and the cafe was decked out like part of the ship with port holes and stars behind them and a gift shop stocked with all sorts of, including event based Star Trek items. Now I do appreciate that Fed Con cannot and should not duplicate that, however, I just thought I'd mention the things I really liked about it, in case they can be adapted in some way, for example having quizes on Star Trek knowledge to win prizes. Being able to purchase specially created another show Star Trek mugs (maybe even with sound effect bases). Make the tickets worth keeping as a souvenir and have a souvenir brochure for sale too. May I also say that I have never seen any of the movies about Trekkies themselves so they would be of interest for me and as someone else said, it would be nice to see some of the actors that have not been to SM events before, especially nice would be to see some of the better known one off characters - maybe even Joan Collins! Lots of behind the scenes talks from script writers, make-up artists, costume and scenery creators and the like would be extremely interesting. Of the people that have been to SM events before, I would like to see Denise Crosby, Roxanne Dawson, George Takei and Rene Auberjonois. (three of whom I missed by double booking myself the time they came to Collectormania) Also the man who played Morn who came to your very first Collectormania as I only started attending at your third Collectormania. I would also like to have Diana Muldaur in my collection of signed photos in addition to any of the main crew members from any of the series, that have yet to attend an SM event. For entertainment value, J.G Hertler who plays Martok is a very amusing gentleman who has always been very good about entering into the spirit of things and would be an excellent guest. PS Dinner with the stars option as well if possible.
  11. Hello Crusty. I wish you a very happy New Year also. I hope you enjoyed your Christmas. I did, even though I had a heavy cold and had to work Christmas morning! A very late Christmas "lunch" was in my ex brother-in-law's pub with open fires - very cosy. As always, you have all the answers correct. I am sorry to say goodbye to the game, but interest waned to such a degree that it had become just a game between the two of us and as much as I enjoy these comuniques, it really has died a death. I and my friend shall be at G-Mex. Flying up with Jet2 from LGW and of course shall be attending C9 at MK. If you see two middle-aged large women with long hair and specs. - you may have found my friend and me - it would be great to say hi. For me, there are definate visits to Avery Brooks, Michael Shanks and Andy Serkis at G-Mex and Diana Muldaur and Mira Furlan at C9 with possibly others also. I'll look into this thread from time to time in case you chose to reply to this. Bye for now.
  12. Just bringing myself back to the top slot. Please look at previous entry for clues.
