nicky
Sometimes we see dealers jump into the front of a guests queue with s***-load of posters that the guests then signs. How does this work? 1).Does the dealer pay for them to be signed like we do or is it a discount rate? 2).Does the dealer have an arrangment that says he will be coming to the guest at some point during the day rather than first thing in the morning before they open to avoid disrupting the queue? Moderators DavidB Posted November 29, 2004 Moderators Share Posted November 29, 2004 Dealers pay like the rest of us, and turn up whenever they can and go in the queue, whether that be first thing or sometime during the day.

Well that's cos they have to make a profit otherwise there's no point in getting sigs at all.

Moderators DavidB Posted November 29, 2004 Moderators Share Posted November 29, 2004 Plus it's a business and they'd make no money if they had to pay more
feralmoggy
I saw an auction item on a well known auction site where the person would go to an event and get a picture signed for you with a photo of the item and person sent to you as authentication all for the small trifle of £60. Turns out the event was Collectormania6 and I found out about it through that item thinking that surely it couldn't cost that much. Even after bills and everything thats still a nice profit if you just go and get 10 items signed on people's behalves.
Moderators DavidB Posted November 29, 2004 Moderators Share Posted November 29, 2004 I guess it's kinda similar to businesses going to a wholesale place or whatever .. but those kinda businesses get all the items a LOT cheaper than they sell them! So, the dealers buy em cheaper n sell em on too ...
