glad i read all this for next time. i stayed at the sheraton this time too and had a great stay. but i prepaid the room on the web cos it was way cheaper. they asked if i wanted to put a card on the account and i just said no... thank god!! but i guess i wll always pre-pay from now on!!

yeah i like that idea - i also actually thought they might like to be in their whilst the ME staff and techies got their thank you and applause. things ive seen before on this front like in theatre - you thank people from the bottom up - so get all the helpers up, then point out the camera crew etc, get someone to thank you guys - the organizers, thank the fans and then have the biggest cheers for the guest before they go. that way they get to show their appreciation for the guys that have been working for them too?

I'm curious - in what way? I usually go Silver and have never had that issue. Whilst you do have to go to a photo session before it ends, there is more leeway with the autographs. Just checking, are you aware that you can go for an auto anytime after your group was called up. For example if the schedule says 9.15-9.30 then it doesn't mean you can only get the autograph between those times 9.30. It can be anytime after that. Well until lunch anyway. Personally I don't have an issue with letting a crew member go in front of me in a queue as I assume that they only have a very limited amount of time to get their own stuff signed. I have noticed they tend to leave it as late as possible (I have never noticed any in a queue on the Saturday) so as not to get in 'our' way. Even when they do I don't think it would ever result in a attendee missing out because of it. As to the quantities, you are probably correct in that some of it is for auctions. Also possibly for people who can't attend the event and use the pre-order service I like that idea a lot! i didnt notice the staff signing thing - though maybe a better idea would be to pile all the staff stuff up (labelled with their names) and ask the guests to sign them at a different time (away from the con). and as commented by alan - this could be combined with the sigining of the auction stuff? i'd also agree with what was said about the quiz - the guests really seemed to have no idea what was going to happen, and seemed a bit "unsure" for a bit. let them know! and i rekon next time (if you do a quiz again) stick the actors in the front and the con guys at the back - and perhaps make one of the guests thte "team leader" so he or she can commendere the microphone back from an over ambitious fan (like the man on steph and alans table..) he was really annoying in the end - totally hogged the mic and kinda shoved alan into a corner.... that annoyed me lots.

my highlights (of guests) alan saying he'd given Nathan fillion and "Alan tudyk moustache" "hooker heels" (The first 3 time) Stephanie replying how she entertained herself in "down time" .. "i think funny thoughts" robins answer to the same question... robin berrating a small child for crying (bad yes but god i laughed hard) Alans male genitalia dance jewels reactions to robin jewel and stephanies luvdupness alans debate with the powers that be about remaining on stage while the stage was "reset" - working in technical theatre i found this just hilarious. but i did need a toilet stop... so many more gems.... please post!!

thanks for letting me know that. if something went wrong at the hotel then i can see its beyond your control. and a horrible pain in the ass for you also. (and im kinda relieved that is wasnt actually "organized" that way. as you say - hopefully the radisson wont pose such problems! but before i buy gold again id probably like some sort of guarantee, that if something like that happens again there might be some other way to deal with it. like doing it in two sessions - or something. either paying//asking the guests to stay a bit longer or giving us half the time (as its be better quality) in each session! anyway i can sympathise that at the time you just had to run with it. the whole rest of the con was fantastic so welldone on that!! thanks for letting me know that. if something went wrong at the hotel then i can see its beyond your control. and a horrible pain in the ass for you also. all taken in to consideration the con was great! - the commentry is a BRILLIANT idea. keep that one if you can! on the negative.. the meet and greet for the gold pass holders was abysmal, (sorry). but i would never have bought a gold ticket if id known and unless it changes wont buy one next year. This was my first massive events event so i was a bit gutted at that. you had 30 people around a guest which is not only uselss for us (as most people cant heae) but probably a bit more uncomfortable for them. and leads that horrible fandom swarm... baaaaad! way to do it is to have round tables with 10 or so people on and the guest move from table to table. yes you get less time but its quality time, less stressful and more personal - thats what i paid for. please please please rectify this. Paying gold was not worth it in this instance imo and i know many people i spoke to felt exactly the same
