To blanket all the guests with no posed photos i feel was unfair. When I met Kerry Dixon there was no one queue for him. I got my Mexico 86 shirt signed by him for which he made nice comments about as I have got 10 other signatures on it. I asked him for a photo for which he was more than happy to have and he even wanted to have the shirt in the photo! What was the problem with that! We then got told off by the crew member and Kerry felt really embarrassed by it and it was very awkward when it didn't need to be. Ray was the same, I was second queuing up to meet him, the guy in front of me asked for a posed photo for which Ray said yes and he took one, the crew member then told him off, to which Ray replied " I don't know what the situation is." I asked just to see what he said and he again embarrassingly said he wasn't allowed. Seems crazy to me. I've met 25 footballers most at SM events all getting signatures on my shirts and I've had photos with them all holding my shirt, just as a nice memory for me, so disappointing not to get a photo at table with my shirts and then have to pay another £30 for 2 photoshoots so the sports organisers can make more money

I really enjoyed meeting Ray Wilkins, Kerry Dixon and of course the legend that is Stuart Pearce. Have to say was disappointed that there was no posed photos for any of the sports guests, i have got table photos with all the sports guests at previous shows, was this for any particular reason? I appreciate they weren't there for long but that's been the same with previous sports guests yet there wasn't a no posed photos policy.

Latest guest announcement - IAN MCDIARMID
ootagotasolo replied to showmasters's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2014
Bit of help from star wars fans, should I get Ian to sign my empire strikes back poster as he appears in the special editions, or stay true to the original and get only cast who appeared in the original release? Opinions please.- 146 replies

Enter the Dragon is one of my fav films ever so would love a cast re-union. Met John Saxon couple of years back and he was awesome and would meet him again. If there was any chance of getting Bolo I think he would be very popular

I think the serious serious autograph collectors would pay the money what ever the cost of an autograph for Ian McDiarmid or Harrison Ford and SM would more than get there moneys worth. It would be amazing for SM to pull Ian McDiarmid out the bag and i for one would pay what ever to meet him.

Standard ticket holder autographs
ootagotasolo replied to ootagotasolo's topic in Elstree Empire Day
Thanks for clarifying that. I was worried it was only 1 free autograph!! Looking forward to this event very much. -
Hi showmasters, I have just picked up my standard tickets and read the covering letter which is giving me the impression that you only get 1 free autograph with the standard ticket as it says you get " one exclusive elstree empire day dog tag, one limited edition print and ONE FREE AUTOGRAPH PER TICKET." In your post announcing the event you said "1 free autograph FROM 6 OF OUR GUESTS picked randomly" which leads you to believe that you get 6 free autographs. Could you please clarify whether you get 1 or 6 free autographs with the standard ticket. Many thanks

Hi showmasters, Some feedback from the weekend: The photo shoot collection fiasco seems to have been dealt with and worked better than at LFCC. Some good guests, but not the best line up SM have had in recent years, but to be fair the cancellations didn't help and im not a doctor who fan so its one of those things. Was great to have a LOTR guest at last and more Game of Thrones guests in the future too. I don't like Earls Court 1 as a venue, it does look tacky, which i can deal with but my biggest problem was the light. All my pictures with guests at the table look really bad cos the light in some parts of the signing areas was really poor. I see quite a few people complained about the heat but to be fair i didn't think it was too bad, i think if it had been more crowded then it could have been a nightmare. The show seemed to be crewed really well again, good job guys. In all as a SM veteran of 8 years this was one of the poorest events for a while, not all SM fault, but i really like the direction SM are going with these events and they are getting better organized with bigger guests, just please don't use EC1 again. Bluewater is a fantastic choice for a con for next year, let's hope there are some big guests for that one. Thanks SM
