Just managed to book in at the Ibis as we left it a bit late.

i think us suckerpunchers would be VERY HAPPY if you were blue or highroller, got any suits ? Agreed. It looks like this is the Amy Pond & Sucker Punch con for cosplayers. lol I've made Gorski a definite for half the day saturday so better get started. I'm gonna do her outfit from the posters but I'm wondering if I should get her dance-mistress cane even if she doesn't usually have it with that outfit, it's just her. She needs a prop, I feel. lol

I haven't played 2 yet (love Origin's though, hoping to cosplay Leiliana someday) but I do LOVE how Isabella looks in the trailers. I think I'm sticking to my days though, so I may be doing Gorski from Sucker Punch & Batwoman on the saturday and then Jessica Rabbit on the sunday. I'll still get pics with you in both your costumes I'm sure, they just won't "match". How are you going to fit all those in?!

I know it's sacrilegious but I'm not much of a Dr Who fan, so this announcement isn't too exciting to me personally but for other fans it's awesome. :-) I'd better go tell one of my good friends as she will be VERY excited. She tends to call me "Pond" as everyone says I look like her.

Was it you who was doing Catwoman I was gonna get pics with on the saturday in my Batwoman costume? If so that may alter my plans. Hmm lol

I already promised someone I'd do Batwoman on saturday so that I can get some photo's and I really want to do Jessica Rabbit on the sunday so if I did do Gorski it would be for half a day, probably the morning (well, late morning as I don't know if we'll be in early or not) as it'd be easier to go from Gorski to Batwoman than the other way around. But if someone set up a shoot I would definitely stay in that costume for photo's before changing. ;-)

Really does tempt me to do Gorski... You guys should set up a place and time to have a little shoot. ;-)

I really need to get my girlfriend to sign up to the forums so she can post on her own username. :-P So yep, we saw Sucker Punch the other night. Lots of people I know were disappointed by it and I can see why as some things could have been done differently but it is a very pretty film with some cool characters. Anyway, this isn't a movie review thread. We both liked Rocket from the promo images but right after film my girl decided that while it's going to be difficult (esp since this'll be her first real cosplay) it's worth it. I'm starting to really look forward to the challenge of helping her with it. With the amount of people cosplaying Sucker Punch already I am very tempted to do so myself but the only person I think I'd suit (plus she's sexah) is Madame Gorski. But as my girlfriend previous mentioned, I'm set on doing Jessica Rabbit and Batwoman (I've already said I'd do that one on the sat) so changing for a little shoot might be too much hassle. I'll probably just take pictures. And I agree, she should use her own hair. It'll take a lot of product but it'll work.

oh wow! rocket has the best outfit in my opinion.. that's gonna be a mission and a half! will look so great though omg:) must get a picture with you Heeeee and you shall! I even practiced a little of her makeup last night for a laugh. Went pretty well. Now just to decide whether to use my own hair (which is auburn and stupidly thick) or get a wig and style... Hmmm.

Hey hey hey! Yes, this be the Vamp's gf. Just to say OMG SuckerPunch! Just seen it, and going to me very local fabric shop tomorrow to sort out my Rocket costume! So I guess plans change again xD I would love VampRouge to cosplay Madame Gorski, but that would be difficult with her Jessica Rabbit or Batwoman, since they require certain makeup/hair. Bit too much of a hassle to change during the day. P.s Could we do a group masquerade together do you think? That would be epic!

Epic. I love it when people Cross-Play. Also when you mentioned Rocket's costume I remembered that my gf wants to cosplay her but is putting it off right now for the same reasons as you, that one's gonna be tricky.

It's on the movie subject again but I have just remembered one redeaming feature for me that I only understood a few years go. When Ivy comes out of the Gorilla suit at the party.. That's based on a very famous momnet in one of Marlene Dietrich's early films when she emerges from a gorilla suit. I adore Dietrich and actually did my uni disertation on her so I'd been watching more and more of her films then Batman & Robin was on tv one day and I realised that Ivy being in that suit was all about. Urban Fantasy writer Kim Harrison. Her books are well-established and amazing but she's never at UK events because she goes where her editor sends her. She's very active in talking to her fans so I've spoken to her for years about coming to uk for signings and she'd love to, if she were to be asked. She actually has a graphic novel coming out in July which is a prequel to her Hollows Series so that would make the timing even more perfect. :-)

Hi, this might already be covered somewhere but I'm sleepy so may have overlooked it on the forums. I know there's a preview night planned on the firday but has anything been announced as to what will be happening for this? I'm trying to decide on how long I'm buying tickets for is all. ;-)

Oh don't worry about the off-topic. I actually just got reminded by someone I went to primary school with that when that film was released I used to want to be Ivy when we'd play it in the playground. lol I mentioned how I want to cosplay Arkham Ivy and she brought up this blast from the past. I also lothe the film in general... and yet I still own it.. Because when I was a kid it was great. lol I watched it again as an adult though and then cringe. It goes to show that I'm right when I say I've loved any version of Poison Ivy, all my life. Campy Ivy in that film is so wrong yet kinda funny. Plus, I actually think if it were directed differently then Uma Thurman would still make a great Poison Ivy. She's a wonderful actress it's just the way that film was directed. Keeping it on-topic though. That is the only version of Poisin Ivy I would NEVER cosplay. Those eyebrow thingys, wtf? Not attractive.

I was actually thinking of this but I'm not sure if I'll be there for that. We'll see. ;-)

Well, now I know what day to wear which costume. Batwoman will be saturday so that we can look out for each other. ;-) Of course! Remind me of this when you see me too so that I'll know who it is? (Then post the pics ;-)) I'm being told by friends to do the Jessica Rabbit so I guess that'll be sunday. I'm still very tempted to do Arkham Ivy but I don't like changing during the day so I'll stick to one costume a day. Maybe work on Ivy for something else.

I think Batwoman's a definite. I love that costume so need to use it more. I actually took my mum's friends' kids out for halloween just to have an excuse to wear it again. lol It's funny you should mention Barbra Gordon. As I read your comment I was wearing my Bat-Symbol t-shirt and my reading glasses, which I chose because they made me feel like Barbra Gordon. lol ;-)

I was supposed to be going to another event soon which zapped my money for LFCC but now we've decided not to go there I think a group of us will be aiming to go to this, much better. Now I'm all excited reading this thread. I have no idea who I want to cosplay though, I have a few finished costumes that I've used before (some ready to wear again some that need re-doing (translation: I was super-skinny when I got my toon Poison Ivy bodice and there's no way I'll get into it now!). Right now I'm thinking.. -I'd like to show off my Batwoman (Kate Kane) as I wore it for an event in America and it went down well, plus I love it and it's ready to wear. -I made a Jessica Rabbit last year that I'm really proud of but didn't get to wear so I'd like to, but as your resident JR is going I don't want to step on any toes. -I have my Codex (The Guild) costume that I wore to Collectormania which was such a pain to make that I'd like to get more use out of it. -And then there's Poison Ivy (I do her kind of how Bruce Timm draws her for the comics and cartoons) but I need a new bodice.. and boot covers come to think of it. -Or I'm extreamly tempted to try Arkham Asylum Ivy but only if I'm feeling brave what with the not wearing much. lol -Oh and I saw someone is going as Sookie Stackhouse. Ever since someone at a con told me I looked like Jessica From True Blood (just as myelf) I've wanted to just buy a sun-dress, wear my fangs and cosplay her, so if someone was doing a group shoot of True Blood cosplay I'd be there. lol Anyway, sorry for rambling when I'm new-ish to the forums but I'm all excited now and may have to go to the fabric shop down the road. lol

Wow, I think I love you for suggesting the Cheers cast. More spesifically Bebe Neuwirth. I was pretty much in love with her when I was 15 (24 now) and was always frustrated by hardly anyone knowing who she is. She's gotten more mainstream since doing Law & Order TbJ but it still makes me do a happy dance when I see others mention her name. I doubt SM would be able to get her though, spesifically because she's currently playing Morticia in the Addams Family Musical on Broadway but also she tends to shy away from things to do with Lilith as she's been a dancer since the age of five and wants to be known more for that. I adore her on Broadway but Lilith is the character that made me adore her so personally, I'm all for the Lilith love. ;-) /randomness. My suggestions: More from Firefly and Farscape (spesifically the lovely Gigi Edgely).
