  1. I thought you liked Common Rotation...both times? I did but not many others seemed to and they did go on a bit at the 2nd party. Then the music afterwards was rubbish too. There were so many complaints because the band seemed to stop the flow of the party and if it's not to your taste, you end up hanging around waiting for it to finish for about an hour. Also all those annoying people camped out on the dancefloor waiting to see CR. I just think live bands are a bit of a no-no if there isn't much other entertainment. Oops i think I might have been camping once Humble apologies - but I was not quite myself that night! Should anyone be interested though Common Rotation ARE back in the UK in November - after the C12isover blues set in Wednesday November 7th @ The Slaughtered Lamb London http://www.electroacousticclub.com/lambdirections.htm Thursday November 8th The Jug and Jester Leamington Spa Tel: 01926 425727 Friday November 9, 7:00pm Brel Glasgow, www.brelbarrestaurant.com http://www.ticketweb.co.uk/user/?region=gb...mp;event=239470 That was a bit of a shameless pimp. But on-topic! Kinda!! And it was Collectormania's fault they introduced me to my favourtie band. So SM - I blame you Am I excused? Aww go on
  2. lol .. .. enjoy yourselves in the pubs peeps ... to be fair (though hope long since crushed) ... I originally booked our room incase Common Rotation did come back.... and now no party at all, I have more beer money for their tour! My party day in MK is now restricted to a certain Mister Williams.... and then purely the Costa Coffee variety C10 Saturday daytime! :)
  3. A party is the only reason my friends and I were planning on STAYING OVER. We will still be attending on Saturday.. but now I wont be partying and drinking into the wee small hours and will be able to drive home. Saves money!
  4. *goes to cancel hotel* disappointing
  5. Definitely forgotten!! *sniff* Definitely required. Yes, I'm a stuck record. BUT IT'S A GOOD TUNE!! I'll be at the UK gigs but Collectormania 10 ..the party or a separate MK show...would be such a fantastic kick-off. I wish pleading made a difference. prettyprettyprettyPLEASE - or just kill the hope and say "no, definitely not!!" ?
  6. Cos there is only enough time for one band in one night. fair dos. fair dos. If not CoRo .. I'd be MORE than (well sort of )happy to see another live band ...any suggestions? (I'm seeing Common Rotation in London on 5th October anyway woohoo!! so I can wait .. a bit ... if I must! ) - but a party WITHOUT the live music .. lacks - for ME. ..(don't want to get into the 50-50 debate of people that agree and people that prefer JUST the DJ, again .. cos it's personal preference .. understood )
  7. well there have been a fair few guests that have visited to sign three times ..why not ones that sing three times too?:) ..to play a third time would be fitting and raise even more cheers than eyebrows I think ..and hear hear spokey!! I guess we'll hear more on the party SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON? Wow - August already.
  8. Common Rotation playing again. *runs and hides* TOO RIGHT I shall not run and hide I shall stand ontop of nearest table and plead loud and clear PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE Common Rotation again!!! I see they are over playing London later in the week and I am praying this is no teasing coincidence?!! I hope they will have their new CD on release then. So yeah. Common Rotation. Thanks. - and I know they are not everyone's cup of tea - but they brew up just fine for loads of us - and only take an hour out of proceedings!
  9. phew .. you scared me for a second - she's there now! :)
  10. I don't think I've ever been to a Collectormania where EVERYONE I met (or saw my friends meet ) were so lovely and friendly and chatty and wonderful! Including Anthony Head, Jonathan Frakes, Levar Burton but special *high-five* to the boyz! The Lost Boys as a whole were too adorable - always emphasising "you give us so much, we like to give it back"! They were brilliant at the talk and at the tables - gotta love em!
  11. hee counting the days with you :) .. I know it WASN'T from last year's party (though not where it WAS from ).. ..but if you want to remind yourself of that previous evening's glorious entertainment:) ... all the audio from the C6 show is here!
  12. hey, I only just noticed your reply! (talk about delayed reaction!) My last post was so rude! apologies, didn't mean to cause offence to anyone... :) certainly none taken by me Nell! .. Common Rotation just got a brilliant, well-deserved write up in the Buffy magazine (aug issue) for their last London date in April. I wish they could get just as good an article in a music magazine too .. hee - but I guess that relies on inviting the journalists to the gigs! I took a photo of the page.. because I'm sad and don't have a scanner! Gig Review
  13. awww thanks but this number is not recognised? Anyone else know? - was it printed on the flyers from LFACC?
  14. and the right phone number was....?
  15. lol I was so asking for that one wasn't I ! different strokes... now watch party tickets go on general offer tonight when I can't be home!! eek!
  16. aha but if you spent the whole time downstairs you don't know what they have to offer live do you? you could be pleasantly surprised But like Fiondra says .. theres other entertainment and guest attendees due :) .. the band will take up .. what? .. 1 1/2 to 2 hours of the night? I spent C6 upstairs, downstairs, in the car park, up and down the stairs like a yoyo (with or without boots on) and finally flaked out on the benches outside before flagging down a necessary taxi .. if I recall correctly. C7 I spent almost entirely downstairs. But I'm glad I went to both :) Come on party ticket sales ... gimme!! lol!
  17. will they go on sale here Sunday night then .. at the very least ...? pretty pretty please *have to work this weekend now*
  18. ooooh yes indeedy (as they did at C6) .. from the Party thread "We are pleased to announce the Collectormania 8 party. Saturday 8.30 p.m. till late Tickets £15. Anyone with a Gold Pass will, of course, automatically have a ticket for free for this if they want it; otherwise tickets will go on sale at London Film and Comic Con 3. Any tickets left after LF&CC will be available for purchase over the phone after that show. Live music from Common Rotation, plus DJs. Celebrity cars and street entertainment, plus many of the show’s celebrity guests will attend, including Adam Busch, Amber Benson, Andy Hallett and more" wooooooooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
  19. I completely didn't ..I missed the live music loads - and didn't enjoy the party at C7 anywhere near as much ... but like you say, there are peeps in both camps understandably. At least with the live show - you get the DJ TOO afterwards - so more people get a chance to be happy and have their specific choice of fun for at least part of the evening :) hee Much better! Again THANK YOU SM!!! (now any chance of improving the sound system so people at the back/propping up the bar can hear!? It was a big complaint last time if I recall? .. lol - although I plan to be at the front of course
  20. Twas only last September I think, when a similarly phrased question also crossed my mind - but I didn't even know who Adam was at that point (I am now considerably educated in both areas where his talents lie!) Curious, I visited the band's website, bought The Big Fear CD and became an instant fan, playing it constantly - but it was the live show at C6's party that completely blew me away... Common Rotation are awesome! So I'd definitely recommend checking out the music to see if it tickles your fancy but nothing beats a live show - I've now been fortunate enough to go to 8 shows so far - and they are touring some more here after C8 YAY!! so I finally get to go into double figures Come to the party and find out! ... they are totally worth the price of the ticket all by themselves in my honest - but completely biased because I love them! - opinion :)
  21. As Jola said ..here is their site .. there are 3 mp3s on the bottom of th front page there are also more than 300 free downloads!!! on the fantastic Union Maid Archive. The Union Maid is how the band shares works in progress with the fans .. so we get brand new songs, evolving songs and some live numbers and some covers - have a listen around .. it's an awesome gift .. almost every week - sometimes every other day, a new song is made available on the website and then archived here (fan run archive). Better yet .. buy a CD! I have to say wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! C6 gave me my Common Rotation Love .. since then I even went to America especially to see them play :) and I adore SM for bringing them back for C8! YOU BEAUTIES!!!!!!!!
  22. and why not? sounds like quite a few folks are going to be affected by wanting to stay to the end of the SG talk without busting a blood vessel trying to run over to the LOTR one in time for a seat and before the doors close! Even if there was a £ or few fee for some transport .. I'm sure it would be preferred to trying to grab an expensive taxi.
  23. ok so it's not likely to happen maybe ... but no harm in begging is there? - Not whilst we still have the tease of new guest announcements for Thursday *begs* After all they were playing Hush and now they are not .. C6 was a fantastic success .. and I for one have been a die-hard fan ever since and will forever be indebted to SM for the introduction - never been a day without listening to them ever since! *begs more*
