I would love to meet Nancy Wake. I think she now lives in a rest home in London, but I do not know if she would either be well enough or up for it...but what a guest she would be!

I am really annoyed about this. Why does there always seem to be delays and cancellations regarding the Manchester show? I know the history but I am still really peeved. I take it I am right in thinking that instead of two shows we will only have one in future during Summer? If that was the case why couldn't we have had one this Summer? I am rapidly losing faith in Showmasters!

I wasn't able to go to the Glasgow event last year, but I am really tempted to go this year to see Nicholas Brendon. Can someone please let me know how the Early Bird Ticket works for Glasgow? I have been to Manchester is it the same as there? I am only asking as I am conscious of the fact it is going to be in a Shopping Centre. Will it be in a hall or similar to Milton Keynes and amongst the shops?

I didn't go and I am curious why he had to fill in during the night? I thought it was just James in the evening! Because of the hotness of the room we were all in James got sick and couldn't perform. So the nabbed Kai from the pub to entertain us. Cheers for that!

Out of curiousity how much was John Barrowman's auto at LFCC? Was that the event where he was supposedly given something erm of a very personal nature to sign and then talked about it on a chat show?

Excellent idea! I always enjoyed the show and a reunion would be brilliant. Unfortunately Michael Praed is appearing in theatre at the moment and would be in Hull when Collectormania is on so I doubt he would be able to appear. However that still leaves Jason Connery, Ray Winstone and Judy Trott. Doh I forgot it was a bank holiday weekend... Michael Praed might be free on Sunday and Monday!

I would love a proper Buffy/Angel con! Could we have Buffy guests that have never been before? Personally I would really like to meet Elizabeth Anne Allen who played Amy Madison! Does anyone know if she has ever done a convention over here?

I just wondered if there was going to be another reunion of guests like there was last May when there was an Allo Allo reunion on the Sunday? The reason I am asking is because I thought it was excellent to have these extra guests and will affect which days I visit.

Last May was brilliant when there was so many Buffy and Angel guests and they seemed to be really popular! More Buffy and Angel guests would be excellent!

I agree. All round I think SM is probably the best!

I am in a similar position. I enjoy the shows and like to go to as many as I can afford. Maybe if they were more evenly spread out it would be easier, and if when they did a specialist con they tried not to have guests from that show elsewhere the same month. I know not everyone would agree but it would mean that I didn't have to choose which event to go to and decide who my favorite star was etc. But I suppose it is down to trial and error at the moment and to expand they have to experiment!

I would love to know which cons stars didn't like to attend and which shows you were talking about! But I know you can't tell me on here. Oh pooh!

I didn't stay long, I had an early bird ticket already and got in very quickly, I only started to queue to get in at 8.40 and the queue was almost all inside waiting to get in rather than snaking down toward the Midland Hotel as usual. I was really surprised at just how quiet it was compared to other times I have been. Personally I think there was not as many stalls and the aisles seemed a lot broader than usual, but this could just be because there was so few people compared to normal. It is great for a one off but long term I hope it doesn't continue as it must affect the profitability and I would hate for the show to stop or get smaller. I got Emma's autograph and a couple of great prints from one stall which was all I really went for and was on the 10.25 train home, the quickest I have ever been!

I grant you that Corrie guests are not ideal, the two I suggested were more for eye candy and people I would like to meet. But at this late stage I think we would all be grateful for just about anyone extra to turn up! Personally I am not that fussy.

I have found a booking agent for Bruno Langley and they seem to have quite few people on their books from the North West! The ones I would pick would be:- Patrick McGuiness (Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy) Luke and Elliot Tittensor (Shameless and Emmerdale) Jody Latham (Shameless) Ciaran Griffiths (Shameless and The Bill) Tupele Dorgu (Corrie) for the legs alone! Katherine Kelly (Corrie) good for a ciggie! Any chance of getting Alice Barry (Lillian from Shameless)? She is excellent!

I know they may not be...it was meant as a bit of fun and if it highlights some actors that Showmasters had not considered before it is all to the good. They could even have a list of resting actors on stand by to fill in in case it ever happens again in the future!

Personally I'd like anyone from Shameless! I know a few people who would like Philip Olivier ...a tenuous link to Dr Who, I think he read one of the tapes and I suppose he is fairly local

I thought I would add this topic for people to suggest anyone they think will be free to fill in for the canceled guests. It's meant as a bit of fun and might help Showmasters come up with a few new guests (if that is possible in the time frame) that otherwise they might never have thought of. Remember they must be local, available and armed with a stack of photos ready to sign!
