  1. Well, we had a blast on both days. Having both a Pred and an Alien seemed to have been popular, but remember, us marines would like some photo-love, too I wonder if we were some of the few people who actually liked the lighting in there. Nothing like a bug appearing from the gloom. We didn't get a chance to interact with the guests as much as we usually do (Glasgow was great for that), but Billy West was a lovely guy to chat to I only got pictures from Saturday. It was so busy Sunday I didn't get a chance to break out my camera once http://pics.livejournal.com/burntkona/gall...0001a9xb?page=1
  2. We may be down on numbers after dealing with the xenomorph incursion in Glasgow, but we are prep'ing the dropship ready to descend on the London Film & Comic Con. Remember, the best thing to do when you encounter the xenomorph is to point your camera at it and take pictures, this seems to keep it under control, and it actually becomes quite friendly. Of course, we are all friendly. See you there!
  3. Yes, a great time. Friendly crowds, great venue and some of the friendliest guests we ever encountered. I'm sure you can count on a load of marines appearing next year, too :)
  4. Hang on, let me check round the back of the sofa *squelch* Hmmm, some sort of secreted resin... Shame about mini-Newt. Next time, eh
  5. Well, I had a blast, and I know the rest of the UKCM members did as well. You know the bugs love all the photo attention Collectormania Glasgow Gallery
  6. Thanks for another great Collectormaia, everyone. We do enjoy these events so :) Nicky - we did have two women marines this weekend. Nice piccies firefly. But there is a problem with one. I can see me in it, but I don't see the alien? What sort of voodoo magic did you pull to manage that?
  7. Excellent stuff. Looks like a the UKCM marines are going to have a field day
  8. Welcome Rev, I've scouted the surroundings, and the natives seem friendly (mostly). Of course, it's always good to have a few more marines around. I was feeling lonely at C10
  9. I was in costume on the Sunday. I would have been on the Saturday, too, but we turned up rather late. Yes, you do feel a bit of a pillock walking to the main area all dressed up, and yes, you do get narrow minded kids who jeer if you don't fit into their tiny definitions of what is done by 'normal people'. But, you know, when you get kids (and some adults) asking to get their picture taken with you, and you see them all smilling and enjoying the moment, it makes it all worth while. So aye, more power to the costume wearing fraterinty
  10. Sandy Collera hangs out on a certain Predator board. Very friendly guy. To be honest, I didn't see the join in the Joker's prosthetics, and I thought the guy playing him did really well. I loved the dialogue between him and Bats "Daddy!"
  11. Would love to see a Goonies reunion, too. More members of the cast from the Alien films would be greatly appreciated. Lost Boys & Near Dark reunions (bit of a vampire theme going there)
  12. Suppose I best jump in here. Jon, 29. Been through the mill a few times. Grew up East Sussex/Kent area, did my university education in Bournemouth, spent a few years in Sheffield, travelled a bit, came back and ended up in Bristol. For a living, I'm the lead artist in a small videogame studio. Means I get to make pretty pictures all day and boss people around. What more could a guy ask for? Always been a Sci-Fi/Fantasy film fan (might explain how I ended up in computer graphics), although it has only been recently that I have been allowing my geekiness full flow, with several costume projects on the go. You may have seen one of them. I was the guy wondering around as a Colonial Marine at C10 on the Sunday. Otherwise, it's gaming (bit of a busmans holiday, but still love it), mountain biking, rock climbing when I get the chance, and I'll like to take up fencing again. Music wise - scary industrial noise and EBM are my sounds to stomp to choices. Front 242, Covenant, Converter, Funker Vogt, Panzer AG... *looks of bewilderment from everyone* Anyway, I guess a picture. When I met Godzilla in Tokyo. I't always the same, they always seem smaller when you meet them in real life.
  13. Thank you, although it isn't finished yet (as Lance Henriksen was keen to point out). It was my first time out in costume (other than Halloween), but found it great fun being asked for photos. Just you wait until I get my pulse rifle. Moo will be for it then
