  1. I've noticed that PATRICK STEWART is only appearing one day (Sunday) , but l've not seen any photo shoot for him and he will have a lot of intrest for him, so will l be able to get a posed photo with him, or is SM trying to get a photo shoot with him? Please say yes to either
  2. I don't think if l had not got the STAR TREK mag, l would have known about SM & it's event's. Like the rest of us l was hooked and at the first one C9 l was a bit starstruck and babbled a bit, and like lot of us spend a small fortune at these event's. Since C9 i've been to LFCC, C1O, G-MEX and soon C11. My high's have been, meeting Kate Mulgrew and other Trek stars, the LOST BOYS and hanging out with them on the last day at C9, Don S Davis from STARGATE....well the list goes on l don't think l have a low except for David Wenham, but other than that as long as there's a SM i'll keep going
  3. Hi guys. Once upon a time you couldn't keep me off this, but then i discovered online gaming. While i have been away, with the brit friends i have i've been spreading the word about SM & Collectormania and all the other events they hold, and been surprised how little people know about SM & it's events which made me think how i first discovered Collectormania, and that was on the back page of the STAR TREK magazine and how i got to my first collectormania 9 last year. So how did you first hear about SM & Collectormania and how do you spread the word? If anybody is an online gamer (and i hope SM don't mind) my tag on the 360 is pudster62.
  4. It's on the corner of Midsummers Blvd and Witan Gate. It's about 5 min walk to the centre and so about 10 mnute to the event (it's at the other end of the centre). It may take 15 mins if you don't walk quickly. For a point of reference the train station is at the bottom of Midsummers Blvd. Thanks very much for the info! Hi guys i know long time no talk been too busy playing on my 360 online but been checking the site & forum to see whats new now i've booked at JURYS INN too bloody cheap
  5. Excellent, Bladerunner's one of my fav movie's. Nice one SM
  6. I wondered if it was a genuine e-mail from SM with the amount of type-o's in it, but seeing this thread from Showmasters now i know it is. I'm glad and sad at the same time. Glad because now my bank balance can better recover from Christmas, and sad as 3 of the Guest were on my C11 Guest suggestion's I see that some members are blaming SM for the cancellation. If the G-MEX complex was owned by SM and had forgotten they had already pre-booked the hall to another client..then yes, people have ever reason to complain, but SM do not own the G-MEX complex. It is the booking office at G-MEX that screwed up not SM. If SM had been the first client to book, G-MEX would have to honor that booking. But it seems SM was piped-to-the-post. Do not blame SM for this screw-up it's not their fault. Just think of it this way, we'll all have more saved up for the next convention
  7. Which info address? As I haven't received it at info@collectormania.com - which is the email address used for all SHOP transactions. I don't have access to the other address as that is for Showmasters. Sorry sent it to the wrong one have now forwarded to info@collectormania.com.
  8. Jola i have forwarded the e-mail to you via the info brian p
  9. Well Jola, if you deal with all the online shop sales and e-mails then you would have replied to my e-mail last week, telling you of the problem i was having trying to order the photo shoot tickets and talk tickets, but the reply you give me said nothing of why i was having trouble with my card and glossing over the fact that i was now unable to buy any talk tickets. There should have been no reason why my card was declined i had enough funds, it had not expired and i put in the right card number. Even my bank could not understand why the card was being declined. There was no block on my PIN or card, it should have gone through. But i DID try to order both tickets before they sold out. As i said if there had been no extra shoot added i would have lost out on both.
  10. Earlier on this year i tried to book two tickets for the LFaCC and each time i my card got declined. That time i did get an e-mail from the shop and i did reply to the e-mail i got but, got no reply back. Looking at the post's and my past attempt's at e-mailing SM.... Jola you see the complains on the forum how the members e-mail SM and get no reply... so no i didn't e-mail SM. I did get my tickets in the end but sent me two saturday tickets 1 earlybird and 1 normal when i ordered 2 earlybirds sat/sun, luckly i got in on the sunday only because one of the crew remembered me from saturday. I tried phoning the "booking line" only it's not a "booking line" as they can't take any card's or any form of payment. The guy i spoke to said try e-mailing info so i did, relutantly i might add, as i did tell the guy the trouble i've had in the past. Low-and-beholed i got an e-mail, but i've still missed out on the talk. And if there was no extra shoot i would have missed out on that too. Not happy!
  11. Maybe i am, but i'm still p***ed at missing out on the talk. There was no reason for the card to be declined.
  12. Yeah i'm glad too. Over the past few weeks i've been trying invane to get both the talk & photo shoot ticket but because for some unknown reason the online shop would not accept my card I have just tried again and this time hooraa got photo shoot for sat but have missed out on the talk THANKS SM

  14. Thanks Tommy. I was just, at the time, was a little surprised when getting a singing being asked for money at the convention in Birmingham. Like most of us, i too have bumped into the odd celeb in my travels as i drive for a living. Got the odd freebie even went to a Radio 1 roadshow and got Simon Meyo's sig! My sister back in the mid '80's liked EastEnders so much she started writting to the cast for their Autographs. She also has a sig from one of the Female dynasty stars and the late Sir Laurence Olivier. All these were free and thru the mail. So going to my first convention was a big shock to find you had to pay for the Autograph. It was more surprise than anything else as i'd never done anything like this before, and didn't know you had to pay. Although it was, if i remember rightly, free entry! As with these events there is nothing to say for new people you need to pay for the signings. The only way your told about this is the web site. And if you don't know the site, you don't know you have to pay until your there and in the queue. I know it was a bit stupid of me not to realize the cost of getting these people over here and, the hotel to stay in. So it does make sense to me why we're charged.
  15. HOW MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!! What? You thought a return flight from say LA to London was perhaps 80 quid? Even cattle class you're talking about £300 if you're lucky and shop around. If you want specific dates (and in some cases specific times), are often going to have to buy at only a few weeks notice, and presumably the minimum guests will travel is club/business class, then you'll be lucky to avoid four figures. With those sort of constraints on your booking it's quite likely to be over a thousand, and possibly considerably so. And if it's somebody who has to fly first class, you're looking at edging up towards five figures. Go to an airline site and see what a return flight from LAX to LHR costs you, first class, for a long weekend. (If you think several hundred pounds is a lot of money, you may need smelling salts). Tommy you may be someone who's got a few bob, but some of us haven't. I don't get the chance to do the traveling i want to do because of that. And yes, some people do think a few hundred pounds is a lot of money. Some people never get that kind of cash so what planet are you living on? I, on the other hand, have been fortunate but, not fortunate enough to have the money to keep flying round the would in first class or in "cattle class" as you put it. I started this thread to get input not to have someone look down on me like i'm idiot. And i'm not that stupid to realize that no-one can get a return flight for £80 to that part of the world
  16. They tend to be at GMEX and LFACC because it's all included within the same building, while at Collectormania they have to hire out somewhere for the talks as you can't have them in a shopping centre AAAhhh. so the money's going towards the hire of the venue. Got it
  17. 0 IT'S HEEERRREEE!!!! YYAAAAARRRRHHHHOOOOO
  18. ER!? Am i missing something? i thought talks were free
  19. Sorry guys i'm gonna have to stand you up this time round as my brother-in-Law can make it now. But as he works nights we can't stay and have drinky's sorry. But hey, if you've seen my profile and seen what i look like, come over and have a chat! see you there I wont bite.......much lol.
  20. Well i can't say about ebay as i've never brought anything off it, but the dealers...well that's something i can. Back at C10 i met Alice Krige. I got a normal 10x8 and a larger picture, or print i should say, an artists' impression of the Borg Queen with the Borg sphere escaping from the cube ship. Now in front of me in the queue was this guy waiting to met Alice as well. He got the artists' impression print £15 he had a breif chat with her and went. in-between signings i checked out some of the dealers stalls, and low - and - behold there was that guy! He was a dealer and what did i see.... the print he had signed earlier up for £15. I asked him if that was the same print he replied "No i got that at another convention." I didn't believe him and he knew i didn't, but what can you do?!
  21. I've never been to one of these premieres as you rightly said "unreliabilty". The very first convention i went to was in Birmingham back in the late 90's, also the first time i met J.C.B she was singing - cheap to only £10! I recognized her almost straight away. I walked up to her and we talked about Babylon 5 and what she had been working on recently. While this was going on, i happen to notice a girl sitting next to her but carried on talking. Spotting some photo's on the table, i picked one up and gave it to J.C.B to sign. All of a sudden a hand appeared. I looked at the girl a little embarrassed - she wanted money! " Do i have to pay something?" i said " Yes £10 please." After i got the photo signed i turned to my brother-in-Law and said "You have to pay. I thought it was free, i didn't see a sign telling us you payed for autographs!" It didn't stop me from seeing another Guest but, i was (back then) a little put out by the fact you had to pay. Now i'm not so green around the gills but, i always wondered why we need to pay. Now i've seen DavidB's reply it all makes sense.
