  4. At our cons we have an MC (Paul). He asks the questions in the talks I really like having Paul do the questions. LOADS of mine and David's got asked at Eclipse 2, but we gave fake names each time Ahhh! - were you Mr Strap! I have nearly been caught out a couple of times on the fake names - I blame the light and the handwriting rather than being hungover Good questions though - keep them coming Cheers Paul J
  5. Roughly around 170 since 1991 although I have not kept track of every single signing show. Around 100 of these I have had some involvement in terms of organising. Can't remember the first Collectormania I went to, but there were several before I joined the crew at C7. I suddenly feel very old

    Autographica

Due to the expanded guest list we require a 3/4 extra crew for the Autographica Show this coming weekend (13th/14th October) at the Radission Edwardian Hotel, Heathrow, London. This is a smaller show than most of our other events and as such in return we are only able to offer accommodation for the Saturday evening. In addition suits/ smart business attire is the dress code during the day. If you are available then please let us know via crew@showmastersonline.com ASAP. Please only email in if you can work - we do not penalise people for not being available, particularly at such short notice. Many thanks Paul J Showmasters
  7. Volunteer emails for the Manchester Show on 17th and 18th November have now been issued. As usual if you have not received one, please drop us a line. Please take care completing the email as a couple of the questions have changed although for most people this should mean there is less information to send through. Incidentally if anybody has any suggestions on how we can improve the gathering of this information, I am always open to suggestions. All enquiries, queries etc to crew@showmastersonline.com The deadline is deliberately tight so that we get hotels sorted ASAP. We expect to issue C12 confirmations within the week and also Manchester confirmations before C12. Please bear with us as there is a lot going on at the moment with 3 shows in nearly as many weeks. Thanks as always for your support cheers Paul J Showmasters
  8. If you wish to volunteer to work at C12, please ensure you have got your application to us by close of play on Sunday. The deadline this time will be pretty strict as Collectormania Manchester emails will going out next week. PLease note that these are likely to be issued BEFORE the confirmations for C12 are issued. The reason for this is to ensure we know as soon as possible numbers for hotels for Manchester. As always we will endeavour to issue confirmations as soon as we can, but please bear with us as it is a lot of work with the two shows so close together. We would expect to issue C12 confirmations w/c 8th October at the latest but if we can do it earlier we will do to allow you as much time as possible to arrange travel/ time off etc. Many thanks and as always please watch this section of the forum for details of when emails and confirmations have been issued. Many thanks Paul J Showmasters
  9. If you wish to volunteer to work at the next Collectormania event in Milton Keynes over the weekend of 26th - 28th October, you should have now received a volunteer email/ questionnaire. If you have not received an email then please let us know via crew@showmastersonline.com. Completed questionnaires must be returned by Sunday 30th September at the latest to allow us to get confirmations issued as quickly as possible and to allow everybody to make travel arrangements etc. Please take care when filling in your answers as some of the questions and options have changed this time. There will not be a general email for Autographica. This is due to the very small number of crew required and we did not wish to waste everybodies time with further emails where the majority of applications would be declined. Nobody should take this personally, it is simply that Autographica only needs a very small number of crew relative to other shows and we already have a large number of volunteers. Thanks Paul J Showmasters
  10. If you wish to volunteer for the above event, please ensure your application is with us by the end of tomorrow (Friday 3rd August) We will endeavour to get confirmations out as quickly as possible so you can make the necessary travel arrangements, time off work etc Thanks Paul J Showmasters
  11. The volunteer email has now been sent to everybody on our database. If you have not received an email and would like to volunteer then please let us know via crew@showmastersonline.com. Closing date is Friday 3rd August 2007 to allow time to get confirmations out as quickly as possible before the show. Thanks Paul J Showmasters
  12. The email to all volunteers registered on our database has just been issued. If you have not received an email, then please let us know ASAP via crew@showmastersonline.com Please note that there is a very prompt deadline of Saturday 14th July 2007 for replies. The reason for this quick turnaround is to allow everybody as much time as possible to make travel arrangements/ time off work etc where we are aware that for many of you, this show will involve quite a lot of travelling. Similarly as this is a first show, we will only require a limited a number of volunteers so please do not take it personally if you are unsucessful in your application. Many thanks Paul J SHOWMASTERS
  13. Emails have been issued for anybody on our database who is interested in volunteering to work at this show. This is a new show, but I am sure many of you will be interested in helping out as the event will follow a similar format to Collectormania and other Showmasters Events. To allow for Sportsmania next week, the reply date for Musicmania is Friday 6th July 2007 which should give everybody time to reply. As usual if you have not received an email and were wanting one, please email crew@showmastersonline.com Thanks Paul J Showmasters
  14. If you would like to be considered as crew for the above event, taking place in Milton Keynes over the weekend of 23rd and 24th June 2007, then please remember that applications should be with us by the end of this Friday, the 25th May. If you are interested in crewing and have not received an email application form then please let us know at crew@showmastersonline.com ASAP. Thanks Paul J Showmasters
  15. Emails have now been sent requesting volunteers for Sportsmania. This is a new show, but I am sure many of you will be interested in helping out as the event will follow a similar format to Collectormania and other Showmasters Events. To allow for C11 next week, the reply date for Sportsmania is 25th May 2007 which should give everybody time to reply. As usual if you have not received an email and were expecting one, please email crew@showmastersonline.com Thanks Paul J Showmasters
  16. That's right . I will get the wording tweaked to make it clearer for the next edition of the book. The book is an ever evolving document as we fine tune things from show to show. Thanks Paul J
  17. Although this event is some months away, given the need for specialist skills in view of the special guests involved, everybody on our crew database has already been emailed and invited to volunteer to work at this show. When applying please take some time to outline any specialist areas and skills that you may be able to bring with you to the event. As usual if you have not received an email, please let us know at crew@showmastersonline.com Thanks Showmasters
  18. A quick reminder if you want to volunteer as a crew member for C11, please ensure you have replied to our email by this Friday 20th March 2007. If you have not received an email and would like to crew then please email crew@showmastersonline.com and we will send one out to you, but hurry as applications close on Friday. We will endeavour to get email confirmations out as soon as possible after that - realistically it will probably be around 10 days. We will announce here when the confirmations have been sent so please do not email us saying you have not received a confirmation until after we have made the announcement. Thanks Showmasters
  19. Emails have now been issued to everybody on our database inviting you to volunteer for duties at Collectormania 11 from May 4th - 7th 2007 in Milton Keynes. If you are interested in volunteering for this show please ensure your reply is sent to us by Friday 30th March 2007. All replies should be sent to crew@showmastersonline.com As some servers, such as NTL seem to eat the emails, and for any other reason if you have not received an email but wish to be considered for crewing the event, please send an email to crew@showmastersonline.com. Many thanks Paul J on behalf of Showmasters
  20. As we are in a quietish period between shows, I have been doing a bit of tidying up and whilst doing so have found a few interesting items from cash sheets from the last few shows. Whilst this may sound incredibly boring, they do illustrate some of the common issues we have when reconciling with the guests at each show. The intention of this is not a "witch hunt" and all crew names have been removed. If you recognise yourself or somebody, please don't post the details here - that is not the reason for posting these images. The idea is that everybody can see some of the common mistakes and therefore avoid them happening in future. Try and imagine you are the guest (keep it clean) or their agent and what impression you would have if you saw some of the following. First of all, make sure your guest name is spelt correctly Keep your ticks consistent and only with the boxes. This example caused confusion as some ticks have been painted over and there are 3 random ticks on the side! Any notes should be added to the back of the sheet, not the front. Like wise we don't need to know times which have been included in the example on the right. It may sound obvious, but people still keep doodling on the sheets. Finally to end on a couple of positives. These are sheets where people think they may have got it wrong and have told us. We all make mistakes anybody who is honest enough to say so, will not be penalised for it. I hope this is a useful exercise for both new and existing members of crew as to how things should be done. Nobody should have nightmares as the quality of sheets overall is very high. Please keep up the good work. Cheers Paul J
  21. No, all crew should have received a questionnaire type email from Showmasters asking when they are able to crew over the weekend of the show. If you didn't get one, that means your email address probably didn't like the fact that it was a "bulk" email - Hotmail and AOL users are notorious for this. Usually someone posts that the application emails have gone out, which in turn then allows people like you who didn't get one, to say so, and one can be forwarded. It's no bother - you have until Friday to return it if you let me know your email address. I am compiling the raw data to help Stuart and Jola with job and hotel allocations. There was a slight glitch in our computer systems over Xmas and if you submitted your application to crew at GMEX between 20th December and 4th January inclusive, could you send it in again to crew@showmastersonline.com We have had a few emails from people who said they have not received the original email, so if you haven't please let us know ASAP and we will get one out to you. Cheers and apologies for any confusion Paul J
  22. Yes - Stockholm, BIrmingham and Manchester with final night of the tour at Earls Court still to come on 23rd December. They are on excellent form. I don't think it is any major secret that they play all of the new album in order and only a few "classics". This has annoyed a few fans but there are plenty of greatest hits tours at other times. If you like the new album you will love the tour. If you have not heard the new album you should still be impressed. Cheers Paul J
  23. We would like to thank the following for 100% accuracy in terms of tick sheets, tickets and cash handling at the show. 24. A big thanks to all who crewed this weekend in Manchester. We knew it was going to be tight on crew numbers and therefore special thanks for the teamworking to make sure everything was covered. Thanks also to the newbies for volunteering and getting involved- I know that some of them are up for more and I hope we have not scared anybody off! Plus thanks to the regulars for making them feel welcome and showing them what to do. Cheers Paul
