  1. I was infected as well, being around JaneDoe the whole weekend probably didn't help, we passed it back and forth. I had to call off work yesterday it was pretty bad. My friend's are 'jealous' of my 'sharing' with Peter lol
  2. Hi! This was my first ever fan event so I didn't really know what to expect or have anything to compare it to. I'm sure some of my suggestions won't be possible or have been tried to changed, but they are just ideas my friends and I had while mulling over the event after the final ceremony. 1. Separate rooms or areas to wait in to load the hall. Standard going in first, it's then much easier to see if people are where they shouldn't be. 2. Have the photos to be picked up out of the way of the main area that is for waiting, that created a huge hassle especially on Sunday. 3. For the drinks reception why not keep people in areas that are sectioned off in some way so everyone can actually see that the actors will get to their area eventually. We didn't crowd as some of my friends have noted and only met Peter briefly. I'm definitely not someone to shove in at all and felt like a lot of my money for gold was wasted because of it. 4. For the parties to get the actors in and not have mobbing, could they arrive together and have a special 'VIP' area that is in a corner and then they could venture in and out as they felt comfortable. Kellan had his friends and if the other guests had guests they could mingle together and venture out together and perhaps feel 'safer' in the crowd. 5. Find a way to make it seem like the guests are 'around' more. I think people really felt like they had to go up to them immediately when they did show up otherwise they wouldn't see them at all. Thus creating the uncomfortableness for the guest making them leave, a vicious cycle. 6. I don't know if this has been tried, but maybe it's an idea. Instead of queuing multiple times for autographs, could there be a long table and then you only queue once? And so perhaps it's that on Saturday morning only gold and silver pass holders are even at the event and then standard can sleep in and arrive for the talks. The next day the opposite, standard are there for the morning events and gold and silver can sleep in until the talks. This would also alleviate all the people milling around in the very tiny foyer area. 7. Having more things that aren't actor focused. 8. Other competition ideas: movie trailers, spoofs, costumes, t-shirt design. 9. Have something to watch or see or do during the queuing, it was very annoying to be constantly told to be quiet, you've got 600 people waiting in line for hours what else can we do? I know this all seems negative and I am the first to admit to my pessimistic attitude! lol But I also did have a good time, the guest talks really turned it all around for me. Peter was fabulous and obviously very skilled at getting the audience into his talk. The photo sessions were great and the cast members were very relaxed and seemed very genuine during that time even though it went so quickly.
  3. I'd agree with what someone else said is keep it as close to the truth as possible so if you are seen somewhere people can't question. I think your best bet is to say you have a wedding Friday evening in Northampton, it's a reason to go during the day to be somewhere by 5 and if you get caught in transit your headed to Northampton and going to a hotel. Your only problem will be if they turn up to the convention too, but then they will probably keep your secret :)
  4. Some others were wanting to call it 'The Book that Shall not be Named' which I like too :) Yeah I get nervous about the possibility of it not going onto film 2, Eragon anyone?
  5. Summit hasn't confirmed anything yet, and all this says is the rights have been obtained, not that filming has commenced, they are being very careful about how they talk about sequals at the studio, Catherine herself has said they have to wait until box office returns are back. From another site, when Summit was contacted they said they have nothing to confirm at this time.
  6. Steph has done book signings abroad in the past, but none lately. She has said she was taking time off from being on the road to look after her health and be with her family. If I can dig up the area where she's said all the places she's visited I'll post it. I think it was a blog on her myspace once.
  7. Awwww, why do you make us wait until then, we could have had all weekend to squee and it would have helped us through the Monday blues! Well at least it isn't Tuesday when I'd have been at a prize giving at school.
  8. Yup she's already seen a rough cut and I'm sure she's headed out to see it opening weekend in the US as well, she'll probably have a few viewings under her belt if she could make to ET :)
  9. There are sooo many..... Where did the original idea come from? Is Bella based on you or someone you know? Is Edward based on your husband or maybe someone else you once knew? Are any of the characters based on people you know or knew? Will you please finish Midnight Sun? Have you ever wondered how the trilogy would have done if you'd first done them all from Edwards point of view? Is there any parts of the trilogy that looking back you think, I wish I'd done that a bit differently? Did you ever expect your books to create this level of hysteria? She has answered a few of these questions in interviews that she has done. Like the idea was from a dream she had, she never planned to become a writer. Some characters share names with friends or famiy like Seth, Emily and Jacob are her siblings names, but aren't really 'based' on those people. She said Edward isn't her husband, if her husband was like that she wouldn't have had to create him. If you read some of her Q&A's from the Lex (the Twilight Lexicon, the first big Steph fansite) you can get some ideas of these things and probably then come up with a million more questions! But, I'd love to have Steph there, she signd my Breaking Dawn copy in LA, but it would nicer at a smaller event, I think 2000 people were having their books signed.
  10. You do like your ruffles! :) One of the girls at the hen do I was at had one similar to the black white and red one we saw at Debenhams. I hate making choices about dresses!
  11. Ohhhhh I like it! :) I'm still shopping and hoping to get something when I go home. I wil raid the closest of some friends to to save money.
  12. I remember seeing it with a border that tied in 'nicely' with the subject!
  13. I'm coming from East London/Essex right after school as well. I'm sad I think I'll miss a lot of the first day because of train schedules, etc. School lets out at 3:20 then 10 minutes to get home and grab my things (I just live acrossed the street) 15-20 minute walk to the train station, 20 minutes to Liverpool Street, who knows how long on the tube to Euston, then about 1-1:15 on the train to North Hampton.
  14. Bought a gold ticket, because two months worth of student loan payments seemed a reasonable price to pay for a weekend away . . .
  15. Very funny Tara!!! But I believe you're right! I watched this about ten times last night.....He's just too cute! Hmmm I'm hoping my upcoming 26th birthday doesn't mean I need Depends all of the sudden! Yes this video, I like it alot, I want him to say, 'Get in the car' to me, ahhh and that look is exactly amazing!
  16. Oh I think he'd find it amusing, I'd laugh! Do it! With the photo collage!
  17. I think that will be absolutely wonderful for the 1901 party! I love it!
  18. I'd really like to see any of the Cullens, Nomads and wolf pack. Not really keen on any of the humans, sorry! :)
