  1. Sorry if I've missed this info, but how long do the paid talks last? Thanks.
  2. KingRichard, he was fine with whatever you wanted - I had a couple of multi-signed covers that I didn't want personalised, a limited edition print that I asked for a quote on, which he was more than happy to do, and also an 8x10 that I did want personalising :) Most sigs I've ever got from one person
  3. I met him last time, great guest, but since then I got my Fight The Future poster signed by Gillian Anderson... So I think I'm gonna have to ask him to sign it too!
  4. I've never met a comic guest here before. I'd like to meet David Lloyd this time but I notice comic guests aren't on the list - does this mean they attend all days? If not, which day(s) is David Lloyd attending? Thanks very much.
  5. I had a great day. After having something of a nightmare getting there and ending up arriving about 10:30, I was really worried that I would be too late to meet Billie Piper - I was only going for her and Gillian Anderson (but having heard Gillian had an open queue on Saturday that gave me hope). But both had open queues - I was able to go to Gillian's talk then meet both her and Billie to get my autographs! If, even last year, someone had told me I'd be able to rock up at 10:30am and still be able to get Billie and Gillian's autographs before lunch I'd have been amazed. Showmasters, whatever you're doing, keep doing it! Great event, thank you.
  6. Fantastic! Did you ask for those or did she just decide to do so herself?
  7. I met Billie in the afternoon when she had an open queue - I had expected her to maybe be a bit tired or rushed after no doubt seeing hundreds of people in the morning, and a couple of people in front of me had met her with quite a few things to get signed but they hadn't really said anything except hello to her. But I just gave a cheery hi and asked how she was, and she looked up and had a little chat and she was lovely! She commented on the photo I'd brought for her to sign (doctor who promo from her first Xmas special with David Tennant that he'd kindly signed for me ages ago), saying it was her favourite photo as it looks so Christmassy :) I shook her hand, saying it was lovely to meet her etc, which she echoed - very happy :) And although she wasn't personalising, she was doing a heart as part of her autograph which was nice too. Thanks also to the girl crewing with Billie, it was very considerate of you to check if I'd like her to sign in blue like DT had done - thank you!
  8. I met Gillian in the afternoon, must have been soon after 1pm. I hadn't been able to get to the event anywhere near as early as I'd hoped to, so I was so very glad to be told that Gillian had an open queue by then, so I went to her talk and then went back to check on her queue. Thanks very much to the crew guy who'd explained earlier that she would have to leave early, and to come back before 1:30. It seemed like she really wanted to get through everyone who wanted her autograph, as she came back earlier than expected, straight after the photoshoot. Although she had quite a few of us to get through it didn't feel rushed at all, she was really friendly and gave me a big smile, had a quick chat and asked how I was etc, seemed to recognise me from the talk, and exclaimed my name really loudly when the crew lady showed her my name on the ticket, echoed what I said about how nice it was to meet her etc. My poster looks great, lovely signature in silver So whilst I didn't really have time to say a lot, it was still a really lovely experience, she was a star!
  9. I agree, it was fantastic! You're absolutely right about the intimate feel of the event, it was so chilled out and had a really friendly feel. Also it was very nice to have a talk of that length (an hour) - it didn't feel rushed at all, everyone asked really good questions and I think we all had a chance to ask what we wanted to, it was really fun :) Thanks for sharing those pics!
  10. Hi everyone. I'd love to meet both Gillian Anderson and Billie Piper tomorrow but I understand both will have separate queues outside the building - which do you reckon I should join? I guess it comes down to who will be busiest... Who do you reckon it'll be, as I'll try and get their VT first? (Unfortunately I'm going on my own this time so won't have anyone to help out.) Thanks very much!
  11. Hi everyone. I assume I'm allowed to post this... On Twitter, Gillian Anderson has said that as there are no talks at Collectormania, she has organised a panel/Q&A for charity at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel at the MK Stadium, for 50 people. Details are here: http://gillian-ander...ket-to-the-talk And the tweet linking to that page is here: Hope this helps get the word out
  12. That's a wonderful idea! I hope he has a brilliant day!
  13. Really please to hear the auto price is down to £30 this time Now I've just gotta decide what to get signed.... I have a couple of multi-signed things - a video sleeve from the "Abduction" story arc already signed by Mitch Pileggi, Nic Lea and William B Davis, and a DVD sleeve of the Essentials collections already signed by those three guys plus Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz... I'm tempted to get a poster signed though (maybe as well!) Decisions!!
  14. No confirmation on Gillian Anderson's autograph price? I've seen others post assuming it's £30, which would be great, but it'd be good to have official confirmation please?
  15. Exactly. Considering the number of times this event was rescheduled and cancelled already, despite each time assuring us it would be the last time it happened, the organisers cannot expect us to still keep booking tickets without more guests being announced! As other people have said, actors portraying one minor and two very minor roles aren't enough to warrant the entrance price for most of us - the organisers had gone back on their word too many times for us to risk buying tickets on faith that more would be announced...
  16. Personally I feel for a guest of Gillian Anderson's caliber, the price is justified. I appreciate that what's affordable is relative, as of course getting any autograph means different things to all of us. I was very glad that last time her photoshoot was cheaper at £35 - so I ended up just getting a photo with her and not an autograph, but I still got to meet her briefly and had a fantastic experience, and I also went to the paid talk which was another way to enjoy her attending the show but for less money than an autograph. But if I didn't already have her autograph on an XF photo I would have happily paid for an autograph too - only one, and I'd have had to save little, but although we all have different financial commitments, personally I felt Showmasters gave us plenty of notice so those of us who wanted/needed to save up had a chance to do so. So basically what I'm trying to say is I appreciate that Showmasters have given us pretty much 4 months notice, as that really helps :) At the end of the day, if there's a choice between getting a fantastic guest but having to charge more than usual or not getting the guest, I'd definitely rather Showmasters got the guest and then we have the choice of meeting them or not.
  17. True!! Fantastic that she's coming back again, and so soon!
  18. Go on, I'll have a guess - Daniel Craig!! Not that I think that's hugely realistic, but SM are building this announcement up quite a bit so I'm going big lol I'd hoped perhaps David Duchovny because of the X-Files anniversary this year, but he was at the San Diego Comic Con wasn't he so he's not a first-timer........
  19. Exactly, well said. No-one would be able to leave booking flights etc this last-minute and, especially after SM made that assurance, a lot of people are going to have lost money. I am very disappointed with the lack of communication from Showmasters - we've been continually told basically "don't worry, have faith, just wait a bit longer" and have been expected to trust their word, only for them to then go back on that promise. Not impressed at all...
  20. Here's an idea - maybe you could make a little sign saying "Hi (your son's name)!" or something and ask cosplayers to hold it when you take a photo of them! I've always found cosplayers are more than happy to have someone compliment their costume and have a photo, as usually a lot of time and effort has gone into making it
  21. I for one would stop having photoshoots if this were to happen i hate when there is text on the background or better still printed on the final 10x8 as per another event though they have stopped that now i just think it detracts from what the image is about you and the guest. Dunno if I'd stop completely but it would be a horrible thing to do. Don't anyone even think out it. Would look terrible. I agree - there definitely shouldn't be any text on the background or any sort of text border... The background used in Photo Area A was fine, really happy with how my photo with Gillian Anderson came out. Photos have been a bit hit and miss in the past, in terms of contrast or colour tone but in the past year or two any problems/discrepancies have been fairly minor. But then I saw some of the photos this year... I agree about the photos in areas C & D - compared to the Area A prints a lot looked very unprofessional, I can definitely understand people's disappointment - I would have been gutted. I was very suprised when trying to help a friend find one of her photos - a lot of pics were overexposed, too much "sky", inappropriate background, even slightly out of focus, weird colour balance... (Edited for my rubbish spelling - been a long day!)
