  1. spam It won't let me type the correct word - comes up 'spam' instead! Let's try it like this - Pen is (great quote by the way!) What did Spike need from Angel to cure Drusilla?
  2. I just wanted to add on here my deepest condolances to Andy's family and friends. I remember the first time I met Andy (my first ever convention in fact) - it was down in London and he was there with Mark Lutz. The two together were the funniest people I have ever seen on stage. Andy had to keep leaving the signing - he thought he had an absyss on a tooth..... he told us at a future convention it turned out to be a piece of popcorn stuck! The thing is, despite the fact he was actually in quite a bit of pain at the time, he insisted on carrying on and that he would stay late if necessary to ensure that everyone who attended got their autograph. Andy was such a wonderful person - he was funny, considerate and friendly. I know that he will be missed by anyone who knew him. Rest in peace Andy. Chelle x
  3. Hi, This sounds like a great idea for a convention! I personally would love to meet Kylie...... but I'm pretty certain that isn't going to happen! But otherwise what about... Alice Cooper Bon Jovi Metallica Maybe some of the great cheesy 80's pop singers (eg Rick Astley)? I'm sure whoever you get this will be a great convention. Chelle
  4. Hello, I normally lurk on these boards, but thought I would post on this topic as I find it quite 'emotive'. I am a collector - I'm a huge Buffy and Angel fan and go to these events to get the actors from those shows autographs for myself (personalised to me). However - it is a very expensive hobby and so I have in the past gotten spare autographs to sell on Ebay (I only ever get the actors that I am after for myself anyway - I don't go to these things just to get autos to sell). I would never sell fakes or copies - I have been emailed and asked by people in the past if I would be willing to make them a copy before I send it to the winning bidder which just absolutely shocks and appalls me. The reason I started selling spares as well is that I started my collection buying on Ebay and realised that a lot of the autographs were fake or pre-prints when advertised as genuine originals. So I wanted fans to be able to buy genuine original autographs and know what they had was real and good value for money. I don't see myself as scum. And as far as I know the people who have bought autos from me don't either. I always provide a COA - it might be a worthless piece of paper to most of you, but I tell the buyer that I got it signed, I tell them where and when and it links it back to that particular autograph in case there's ever a problem. I know it's genuine and I hope my buyers do too. The last couple of years I have hardly been to any of these events because I haven't been able to afford to - and part of it is to do with the amount of fakes out there on Ebay. It makes me sad when I think about it because so many people miss out because if it. Anyway - I could ramble on all day so I will sign off there. Hope I haven't offended anyone because I am a 'dealer' as well as a collector. I'm not made of money and if it wasn't for selling autos on the side I would of had to give up attending events years ago. Chelle
  5. Hi, I would love to see any of the following (including here my dream suggestions of people who I know would never come anyway!) Mercedes McNabb Sarah Michelle Gellar Marc Blucas Seth Green Alyson Hannigan Joss Whedon Kirsty Wu Carisma Carpenter Lindsey Crouse Daniel Dae Kim (would also appeal to Lost fans) Gina Torres (forgot to put her down originally - can't believe I did that!) Sean Maher What about any of the cast of Grey's Anatomy? Patrick Dempsey would be fab....! Chelle
  6. Hi, I'd love to meet (in no particular order): Sarah Michelle Gellar David Boreanaz (have met him but appalling event and would like to get a proper autograph!) Marc Blucas Adam Kaufman Kirsty Wu Alyson Hannigan (but I know she doesn't like charging people for her autograph and she doesn't like crowds either) I'd quite like to meet the cast from Gray's Anatomy too - unfortunately I don't know any of the cast names off the top of my head! Chelle
  7. Congratulations! I wish the two of you many years of happiness. Chelle
  8. Hi everyone, Sorry if the title seemed a bit distressing! My baby, Christopher, is entered into the Bounty Face of Calpol competition. If he wins, basically he gets his face on the bottle! I was hoping that some of my fellow Collectormania attendees would be willing to vote in this for him? The closing date is 19th Feb. Christopher is on page 5, and is the 4th baby down on the far right. He is the only Christopher on there. Here is the link: http://www.bounty.com/faceofcalpol/browse....tyCurrentPage=5 Thanks in advance for your help! Chelle
  9. Hi, I got the 'Buffy' goody bag. You got the following autos: James Marsters Iyari Limon Kali Rocha DB Woodside Mark Metclaf Anthony Stewart Head I assume the stuff in the carrier bag was all the same? There was a Buffy collector plate (Giles) and then some other random stuff from other shows. Personally I think the gold pass was definitely worth it. Chelle
  10. Hi, I had a great time on Saturday and am SO GLAD that I bought my gold ticket. The goody bag was nice - to get about £100 worth of autographs was a bonus! The other bits in there, whether they were 'left-overs' or not were still pretty good in my opinion. Because of the ticket, I was able to arrive at just before 9am and was still the very first person to get to meet Charisma Carpenter! If I hadn't had the gold ticket I hate to think what time I would have needed to arrive to even meet her! I don't know if she stopped doing posed photos - but she let me have one (a big thank you to the crew member who let us borrow her camera to take this - I look forward to getting your email!). I would definitely consider getting one again - but it would very much depend upon the guests going to the event. On a different subject (but something someone else mentioned earlier) - I was very disappointed that Adam Baldwin only had 'Firefly' pictures to get autographed. I would have really liked an 'Angel' one and as someone else pointed out there are many other things he has been in that they may have liked a photo of. All in all though I had a great time & definitely think the gold ticket was worth the price! Chelle
  11. SM have said they hope to send letters out this week fingers crossed Thanks very much! Appreciate the fast response - I didn't want to bother SM again by phoning or emailing as I'm pretty certain that they'll be rather busy at the minute getting organised! Chelle
  12. Hello, Just a quick question for those of you who have bought the Gold Tickets - after sending SM your passport photo, have you received any form of receipt from them for it, and if so how long did it take? I know that I've paid for my ticket - but I'd rather have something in writing from SM (along with info on where to go on the day) to take with me in case of any problems. I always worry too much at these things - especially when it's something that would mean I could potentially miss out on my autos if any errors have occured! Thanks very much Chelle
  13. Hi again Too Tall, Many thanks for the fast response - I had had an email from David telling me that he was waiting for a response from his boss & would get back to me so maybe that is what he was thinking about...? I thought the tickets would be non-refundable, but if there's the possibility of transferring it if I'm unable to attend (or Charisma cancels) then I think I'll get a ticket (assuming the first issue about my husband coming in with me). Thanks again for your help and it's nice to see you on the forums helping people out - you're doing a great job. Chelle
  14. Hi Too Tall, I hope you can help with this (and I hope the link works as I'm notoriously bad with this type of thing!!!) http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index....&t=19467&st=100 I posted some questions for Showmasters on page 6 of the Gold Tickets topic (just in case that link doesn't work!) I contacted SM by email & by phone and I did get an email reply from David telling me he was waiting for a response from his boss. I appreciate that they are very busy, but I desperately need an answer to my questions as I need to start getting things organised. If you have a link to SM, is there any chance you can ask them for me if they have had any luck with this yet? I would really appreciate this - an email reply is fine if they don't want to post the response on the board! Thanks Chelle
  15. Hi, My list would be: 1) Sarah Michelle Gellar (of course!) 2) Charisma Carpenter - thank you Showmasters!!! 3) Seth Green 4) Marc Blucas 5) Joss Whedon 6) Jeff Kober 7) Elizabeth Rohm (ok - Angel I know but still would be a fab guest) 8) Alexa Davlos (Another Angel actress but I figured this was as good a place as any to list her!) 9) Mercedes McNabb I would also like the opportunity to meet David Boreanaz again, as well as Tony Head (who I always have to meet at every event I can!!!) and Amber Benson (she is so sweet - what's not to like about her!) Chelle
  16. I'd really like to meet Chucky from Child's Play Such a friendly little guy Oh and I like the suggestion of God - I'm sure we've all got a few questions we'd like to ask him/her!!! Chelle
  17. Hi, This is a message for Showmasters: I have sent you a couple of emails, posted in the Gold Tickets section of the London Film & Comic Con forum (page 6) and telephoned you yesterday with some urgent queries about the gold tickets. Please could somebody respond to me to enable me to make my decision about whether I am buying the ticket or not? I was promised a reply by email (the person I spoke to thought I would hear by the end of yesterday) - but I haven't heard back yet... Many thanks & sorry to everyone else for using this forum to try to get in touch with SM - didn't know how else to do it!!! Chelle
  18. I agree with what the last person said! Let SM get on with things and stop hasseling them to announce people before they are ready! They aren't stupid - they have ran many succesful events before - and we will get to hear about the guests when the contratcs are signed and SM are ready to announce. Be patient and we'll find out when we can be told more! Chelle
  19. Hi, I phoned them yesterday and the guy I spoke to took my email address from me and promised to email me with a response to my questions. He seemed to think that there wouldn't be a problem - but thought I should have something in writing. He had hoped that I would get a reply by the end of yesterday - but I haven't had anything yet... Chelle
  20. Hi, Does anyone know how the best way of getting in contact with Showmasters is? I have sent them 2 emails - the first when CC was announced and the 2nd on the 19th May after my posting above - but I had no response to either of them, or the post! Since the event is only a few weeks away and the gold tickets are limited I'd really like to get a reply sorted out asap... Chelle
  21. I voted for Elizabeth Rohm - she would be a fabulous guest to meet. Would also like to meet Mercedes McNabb if that were at all possible... Charisma completes my collection of 'main cast' - I too met DB in Brighton - but I managed to get my autograph personalised by putting a post it note with my name on it on the photo and he signed it to me! Apparantly things were much better at his more recent UK appearance and I wish now that I had gone to that to meet him again at a convention where he wasn't having problems with the event organisers - so if Showmasters want to bring him over here I'll pay again to meet him! Chelle
  22. Hi, Well - this is an interesting (and completely pointless) argument isn't it?!? The price has been set, as has the 'contents' of the pass. No amount of whinging by people on here is going to change that! As other people have said, no-one is being forced to buy these tickets, and they aren't offering so many of them that you risk not being able to meet the people that you want to meet if you don't get one. So what's the problem? If someone else wants to spend that amount of money on one of these passes, that's up to them. Some people seem to want everything and expect to get it just because they consider themselves to be a 'die-hard' fan! Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that, as we often see. It's the people with money that get the advantages. And that's everywhere in life, not just at places like this! At least Showmasters are ONLY selling these to the fans and not giving the dealers a chance with them. I myself would love to get one of these tickets. I am only going to meet Charisma and do think it is a lot of money, but would be willing to pay it for a number of reasons: 1) I am at another event on the same weekend and this would enable me to ensure I get to do both so don't waste my money that I have already spent on the other convention. 2) It will save me the cost of a hotel as I can travel down on the morning of the event at a decent time of day and not worry about the queue. 3) I will be 8 months pregnant - I normally have no problems queuing up for hours. But Collectormania 7 just about killed me with the queing that we had to do so am really not looking forward to this! 4) Charisma Carpenter is one of the people I have been dying to meet for a very long time now - if I get this ticket I know that, unless she cancels for whatever reason, I WILL get to meet her. So that being said, I would be willing to pay £200 for the ticket. BUT, there are some counter arguments, and if Showmasters would be willing to answer these questions (either on here or by emailing me directly) that will help me to make my final decision: 1) My husband will be with me. He's not at all interested in any autographs, or meeting the people there. He literally comes with me to look after me (bit of a wus I am in big crowds), to help me look after the bags and to take photos of 'me with x'. Would he be allowed to enter on my ticket? Maybe a pass can be issued with the gold ticket saying something like 'no autographs allowed' or 'to accompany gold pass holder only'? We would be quite willing to pay the normal entry price for him - but obviously it would defeat the point of me buying a gold ticket if he had to get there early to queue for his ticket and there is no way that I can afford/justify buying two tickets when it really is just me that wants to go in! 2) Have you been able to confirm which days Charisma will be attending? I am only able to make it on the Saturday sue to starting my antenatal classes on the Sunday in Nottingham (so definitely won't be able to make the event that day). There's no point in me buying a ticket if Charisma isn't even going to be there on the day that I attend! 3) What would happen in the event of Charisma cancelling (and assuming you haven't signed up anyone else that I want to meet) - am I able to get a refund or would I be able to sell my ticket to someone else? If not, this makes it a bit pointless and I don't know if I could justify spending the money with that sort of risk. Thanks very much for your help with this - I look forward to receiving a response soon to enable me to make a decision whilst you still have tickets available! Chelle
  23. Well my Buffy/Angel wish list would be as follows: 1) Joss Whedon 2) Sarah Michelle Gellar (we can dream, can't we?) 3) Marc Blucas 4) Seth Green 5) David Boreanaz (have met him once - but it was at the 'awful' event and it would be nice to get the other things I have singed. Plus the photo I got signed isn't very good). 6) Charisma Carpenter - but hopefully going to meet her in June 7) Mercedes McNabb I could go on - there are lots of smaller cast members I'd like to meet (and some of the big ones again), but the ones above, with the exception of David, are the ones I have yet to meet and would most like to! Chelle
  24. That would be J August Richards (who is as lovely in person as he is on screen ) and Tom Lenk (very funny on stage, but comes acorss as a bit 'off' when you meet him in person - but I give him the benefit of the doubt as being a bit shy). I always like to see Buffy/Angel people at the Collectormania events - what are the chances of getting Marc Blucas? I would LOVE to meet him. Plus I don't think he's done a UK convention before. Seth Green would also be great but I doubt he would be up for this.... but you never know your luck. As for 'smaller' Buffy/Angel guests - what about Ken Learner who played Principle Flutie in season 1? Having met Armin and D B (both thanks to Showmasters) he would be fab to complete the principles of Sunnydale High. Also, some of the other potential slayers would be good. Chelle
