  1. I'm soooo excited! Only three days for me (am coming over on Saturday), and of those three I'm working till 4.30 today, and have tomorrow and Friday off! Need to do some serious packing and cleaning I'm afraid... Yay! Almost CM!
  2. My advice: take the bus. It's only 4 pounds on the Virgin buses, and they stop right outside the airport. Trains are a LOT more expensive and take longer. The Virgin buses leae regularly, take about 50 minutes to get to MK, and they drop you off right outside the Centre, so you can walk right in. I'm from the Netherlands too, so am taking the bus as well from Luton. I'm arriving on Saturday though, so maybe see you there?
  3. But, those only fit 3-ring binders, and those are pretty hard to find over here in Holland... I've punched extra holes for my CCG cards, but am not doing that again.
  4. Ah yes, the spelling issue... Try being called Mieneke a few times Americans usually turn it into Meineke, which is a muffler company, and British people have no clu as to what the spelling should be. I always have my name written down at cons, and this year I got one of those LED- namesigns somewhere, so will flash everyone with that I think that the blue sharpies are really great. But, as stated before, can't get them over here. Good to hear they are for sale in the UK, so will defo get some when at CM. shopping list is growing... - sharpies - sleeves - oodles of autographs! My creditcard is my friend...
  5. Finally found a decent cane today. Went to the fleamarket, and searched all over. Found a really nice one, but it turned out it was actually owned by the person in front of me purchasing something, and he needed it to walk... So, in the end I bought two of those things you use to close the curtains with in dark brown wood, took the metal thingy off the end and replaced it with a rubber thingy (I'm being awfully clear, aren't I?), en coloured part of the handle silver with a sharpie. It looks a lot better than my last ditch idea (to buy a wooden rod at a DIY store and screw a doorknob on the end), and it only cost me 50 cents, which is about 35p!
  6. wow, they're a lot cheaper then here in Holland. Hmmm, may get me some at CM...
  7. The big problem with Sharpies is that you can't buy them anywhere except America (maybe Canada too, but not sure). They have every type listed on their site, but no way to order them. In the past, I've had friends send them over and my brother in law bring a bunch back when he was in the US. I'm now the proud owner of about 20 black, 20 silver, 1 green (present from someone) and a couple of blue Sharpies. I guard them with my life... I also love Color Sharps. They're metallic, have two nibs on each pen (one like the fine sharpie, one ultra fine, very nice for books) and come in packs of five colours: silver, gold, green, blue and purple. They show up really well, because of the metallic sheen. They dry less quickly then Sharpies, but they look very beautiful. Same problem though, ni way to get them if you're not in the US... I find that some pictures do get ruined by the sleeves I keep them in. You can get acid-free sleeves, those have no solvants, so the sig stays good. They are a bit expensive though, am slowly changing mine bit by bit. On the other hand, I rarely take my photos out, and I've only found two ruined sigs in my collection. One of those isn't even mine, but my boyfriend's. So in a total of 800, 2 smudges isn't bad.
  8. Cool! I'll enter for sure. I might even have a DS9 postcard somewhere Hmm, I wonder how much postage is frm Holland to England...
  9. IF I go, I'll probably wear something I bought last week. It's a tight moss-green bodice with a very wide skirt, in the style of the yellow dress Beauty wears in Disney's Beauty and the beast. The bodice is really different though. I didn't make it myself, but I'm soooo in love with it! Do still need to get a petticoat, but that'll probably happen before CM11 anyway.
  10. Me = Dutch, so I'm from abroad :-) Am coming with a friend of mine, who is (not surprisingly) also Dutch. And I know about some more Dutchies going too.
  11. Need to bring my Dark Crystal box! Cool guet SM!
  12. Does anyone here know if the DVD's of "Hidden History of Rome" and "Hidden History of Egypt" from the Discovery channel were ever brought out in Europe? On Ebay, I can find an Aussie version, and I spotted an "Egypt" somewhere too, but has anyone seen both in the uk or the rest of Europe? I'd really like to get them to have signed, I loved the series.
  13. *finds jaw somewhere on the floor* This is AWESOME!!!! SM, you've made me SO happy, thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!
  14. Well, I'm arriving Saturday and leaving Monday afternoon, so that looks pretty good for meeting the guest I'm coming over for. Friday does seem pretty quiet... But, I will be packing and being squealy that day, so that about fills it for me.
  15. Hooray! I hope all those sigs will fit on my DVD boxes...
  16. Well, he (Richard Gibson) actually calls me Knickers, but Herr Knickers doesn't quite have the same ring to it, now does it?
  17. Lol! I didn't know... Well, we can always not wear it on the same day... Though a picture with three Herr Flicks (or should that be "Herren Flick") would be really cool.
  18. I decided to do another costume for CM11. It's going to be... Herr Flick! I know I'm a girl, but who cares, I've done Robin Hood, and he's no chick either. I recently bought a really cool long black coat, and my brother said "it looks like you're in the gestapo", so why not do the rest of the costume too? It's not hard, I already have a hat somewhere, and will just need a cane. I wear glasses because I can't see without them, so that's sorted too. I just need to check what he wears under it, but it'll be fine. I'll try to get Richard Gibson to do a picture, but that shouldn't be any problem.
  19. that's waaaay too small to print though...
  20. when I crew for events here (in Holland), and I get to PA for a guest, I usually bring them "stroopwafels", a kind of Dutch cookie. You can (just about) only get them over here (though I heard some English shops sell them nowadays), and most people really like them. But gifts? No, I'm the kind to do that. I have on one occassion given a photograph to a guest, but that was the only thing I ever gave (except for the cookies). Dwight and Dirk are awesome! They are sooooo friendly, and always try to give you some time and the feeling you're not fan #33254 they've seen.
  21. Don't forget, he was the voice of the chef in The Little Mermaid... "Les poissons, Les poissons, How I love les poissons. Love to chop! And to serve little fish" Hmm, need another sig now...
  22. It was already expensive... I have got his sig, but not on a Trek picture, so will be getting two sigs there, One DS9, one VOY...
