1. Sounds like a great guest. I'm looking forward to making him a nice cup of tea in the green room. Shaken, but not stirred, of course. - Diane
2. I'm sorry 'Fry' is so disappointed about these guests, but from the response Horizon has had to their appearance I think he's in the minority. This is the first signing/convention appearance ever by either Glynis or Michael, and quite a coup for Showmasters. Dempsey & Makepeace remains a very popular show, and to have the 2 main cast members appearing together at C9 is very exciting for its fans, and of course it's great news for Blake's 7 fans that Glynis is at C9 on the same day as her fellow Season 4 Blake's 7 cast members as she'll also be signing copies of the S4 DVD Box set which was released this week. Both actors have appeared in many other shows apart from B7 and D&M, and Michael recently starred in the hit West End musical 'Jerry Springer - The Opera'. I'm sure they will both be very popular guests. - Diane
3. Kel and I would stop the Paul Darrow stealing ... we'd keep him for ourselves ... although I think Diane might have something to say about that. 961255 I might indeed... Perhaps I should hold an auction (a la the Season 4 episode 'Assassin') That might be fun... - Diane 961444 Oh yeah.... Lots of fun! Might be a cat fight though!! Paul is adorable - a really nie guy and very interesting. Kx 961478 Indeed he is - and if you need more convincing you should buy his autobiography which has just been published. He writes the way he talks, so it's almost as good as having him sitting beside you telling you about his life. Almost. If anyone wants a copy and pre-orders from me it's only £12.75 a copy (everywhere else £14.99) AND you get 2 free photos with that. I can post them, or can bring pre-ordered copies with me to the show and you can collect them from me any time over the weekend (before Monday!) Let me know if you want one (ASAP please) - Diane

5. The S4 boxset will be £38.99 (the RRP is £49.99 - another bargain!) We'll have copies of the earlier series for sale and if you buy them at the sales table at the same time as S4 you can have the same signing deal. However, if you bring sets you bought elsewhere, it shouldn't apply. If you want a lot of signatures on the day ask for me personally and I'll see what I can sort out for you - but best to buy your DVDs from the official sales table to be sure. (That applies to everyone, of course, not just Dufresne!!! ) It's possible that at some time in the future there may be a complete 4 season box-set package, but it wouldn't be for some time and there's no official plan that I know of. And to answer Indio's query - Jacqueline Pearce sends her love but isn't able to attend as she's away in the African bush for 2 months, looking after orphaned Vervet Monkeys. How cool is that? There's going to be a Blake's 7 panel from 4.30/5.30pm. Still finalising details but tickets will be £10 each and at least 3 of the cast are staying in the bar/buffet area for an hour or so after the panel to chat with the fans. It's not in the cinema complex like the other Showmasters talks/screenings, but in one of the restaurants across the road from C9. Panel ticket holders are invited to stay on afterwards for this party/get together. There will be a buffet dinner laid on, and a bar, which you'd pay for separately on the night. This is limited to 100 tickets so best to book in advance. Showmasters have asked me to take the payments and issue tickets for this, so don't call them, just drop me a line - horizonb7@dsl.pipex.com - Diane
6. Stephen Greif isn't coming to the S4 launch, so no to that question. At LFACC 3 you could buy a S3 box set and pay an additional amount to have all the cast sign it (it wasn't free, but was a big discount on normal prices) and the same offer is available for the S4 launch at C9. You need to buy your S4 DVD box set at the Blake's 7 signing table to qualify for the special offer and would then be entitled to have all the B7 cast (except Glynis Barber) sign your set for an additional amount of £20. Since there are 6 cast members attending whose individual signatures are £10 each, this is a serious bargain. (Maybe we should put the price up... ) You can have Glynis Barber sign your set separately at £15, she's not included in the special deal. B7 cast confirmed to attend are Paul Darrow, Michael Keating, Steven Pacey, Gareth Thomas, Peter Tuddenham and Jan Chappell (Jan may not have been announced by Showmasters yet, but she IS confirmed - they'll get around to mentioning her any time now!) You'll be able to buy other B7 merchandise (including earlier box sets if you're still behind with those) at the merchandise table in front of the B7 signing area. This is being organised by the Horizon fan club, courtesy of Showmasters, so if you've any queries about this, just ask me, either via this forum or email horizonb7@dsl.pipex.com For those of you wanting to buy Paul Darrow's autobiography which has just been printed (and if you're a Paul fan, this is not to be missed) you should pre-order this from me/Horizon as I only have limited stocks and have had quite a few orders in already (ie. possibly no spare copies to have for sale at C9) - Diane
7. A pleasure to Serve you all, as always. Still recovering, but had a great weekend. - Diane, Nat & Sarah - the Green Room Girls
8. I had to ask, but I found them, and I was so glad I did. Kenneth was lovely, happy to talk at length about Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), which was and is classic TV, and vastly superior to the recent remake. He was happy to sign my R and H book - even asked me where I got it. Btw Diane, I love your Blakes 7 pic, and wasn't Paul Darrow wonderful?! Such a gentleman, and OMG that voice!! He's still the sexiest guy in sci-fi, for me anyway. 926832 I agree with you Vanna, both Kenneth and Paul are lovely. And the remake of Randall & Hopkirk doesn't remotely compare to the original. And definitely agree with you about That Voice (currently advertising a Playstation 2 game on Sky). I'm looking forward to reading Paul's autobiography, being published in March - should be an interesting read. - Diane
9. Kenneth & Martha, along with Robert Llewellyn, were actually brought to the show by the guys at Videodrome. On Saturday there wasn't quite enough room for them all, so 10th Planet looked after them on Saturday and they were all together on the Videodrome stand on the Sunday. I understand Videodrome are hoping to bring them to LFACC 4 as well, for those of you who missed them. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing them again as they (and Kenneth's wife) were all delightful, and wonderful with the fans, which I think was confirmed by everyone who met them. - Diane
10. If anyone's trying to book a cheap Virgin train (I was looking for fares London/Manchester) the website wasn't being very helpful so I phoned and got £25 per person return tickets (using the £12.50 each way offer) but trains these are valid on are selling fast so book ASAP. If you hate the automated service as much as I do, and want to speak to a human even if he is somewhere in India and you have to repeat everything you say two or three times, call the Virgin number 08457 222 333 BUT instead of speaking into the automated response thing, just press 0 half a dozen times in quick succession. This will get you through to an operator. Apparently there are also some £20 return deals for groups of 4 people, though as there were only 3 of us we didn't get offered that. Good luck! - Diane
11. Good. Hate driving in snow and ice. Hope to see you late Friday afternoon. x Diane PS Why am I replying to this at 3am???
12. Hahaha - did you spank his bottom 889825 I thought it best not to scare him any more at that point. But he'd better watch out if he's naughty again.
13. hahahahaha - He was sooooo scared of you on Saturday Night/Sunday morning and point blankly refused to go to the car to give us chocolate........ See we told him you'd let us have the choccie at 3.00am in the morning! 889753 I told him he was a very naughty boy to make you all go to bed hungry, so I think he's taken my instructions on board for next time... - Diane
14. You're very welcome - it's always my pleasure to serve (excuse bad pun!!!) Seriously, I had a really terrific weekend and it was great to see everyone again, in a more relaxed atmosphere. Apologies to anyone who didn't get fed properly - I'll try to do better next time. And I'll remember for next Autographica that marble floors and heels are a bad combination - my feet are still recovering. My thanks to the green-room crew (Judes and Sharon) for helping with the endless coffee rounds, and thanks to Paul and Idris for taking me to Tescos. Note to Paul - next time let the starving crew have the chocolates, hmmm? See (and feed) you all again soon. xx Diane
15. Blake's 7 - is this your doing Diane G? 884526 Luckily, Showmasters don't need me to tell them what a great guest Paul is, though I do remind them from time to time, just to be sure... Diane
16. Andrea - if you're the Sensible One, how come you let him keep all that stuff there???? Doesn't sound very sensible to me! Very funny story to read, but I'm going to have to be boring and say I'm glad my Showmasters duties are all done from home, at the show sites or Tesco's! - Diane Trolly Dolly 1
17. I'd put information about David's death, along with a brief biog, in the 'General Chat' section - here: http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index....ST&f=19&t=21724 And there's a recent photo of David (at the Blake's 7 Season 2 DVD launch, January 2005) with a full biography and tributes from some of the Blake's 7 cast up on the Blake's 7 fan club website at http://www.horizon.org.uk He was a lovely man, and will be much missed. - Diane Gies Co-Ordinator Horizon, the Blake's 7 Fan Club
18. DAVID JACKSON (Gan in Blake's 7) 1934 - 2005 I'm sorry to have to share the sad news with you that David Jackson, best known for playing the part of GAN in 17 episodes of 'Blake's 7' died on Monday 25th July of a heart attack, aged 71. He leaves behind his wife, Anne, and their son Stuart. David had a long and distinguished career, in theatre, TV, radio and film, but to Blake's 7 fans he will always be remembered as Olag Gan, the gentle giant. Although David was a true science-fiction fan himself, he always expressed amazement at the continued interest in Blake's 7 - a show he made so many years ago - and the interest of the fans in his career and the character he played, though he was always more than happy to discuss any and all aspects of the show with the fans. No-one lucky enough to have met David at conventions and signings over the years (include the first London Film & Comic Con) could have failed to realize what a warm, kind, generous man he was. A true English gentleman, whose word was his bond, and who always took time to talk to people and genuinely cared about them and what they had to say. He also had a wonderful sense of humour, and a never-ending supply of fascinating anecdotes. The Blake's 7 fan club's interview with David in 1990 was a delightful evening, which only ended when the waiters in the restaurant started turning the lights out and putting chairs on top of tables in a desperate attempt to get us to leave so they could all go home. David would have happily chatted to us for hours longer, and we would have enjoyed every minute. He had a lifelong interest in Victorian theatre and one of the shows he devised, produced and performed was his own one man show on the Victorian Music Halls. Up until recently he continued to perform in 'My House Guest Dr Johnson' based on the life of Dr Johnson, compiler of the famous dictionary, a show of which he was justly proud. But nothing made him prouder than his son Stuart, now 19, and following in his footsteps. Whenever one spoke to David, Stuart was always the first topic in the conversation, and he would delight in telling everyone of Stuart's latest shows and concerts. My heart goes out to Anne and Stuart at the loss of a wonderful husband and father and I'm sure all of you reading this would echo that sentiment. If you'd like to read more about David's life, as well as some tributes from other Blake's 7 cast members, these can be found on the fan club's website at www.horizon.org.uk David will be very much missed - he was a very special man, and it was a great privilege to have known him. - Diane Gies Co-Ordinator, Horizon - the Official Blake's 7 Fan Club
19. I will have some Season 1 and Season 2 box-sets, but it's only the S3 sets that have the £10 all signatures deal. However, if you're going to be buying S3 from us, and also want 1 & 2 I'm sure I can work something out as an all-in price. If you're seriously interested in doing this, it would be best to contact me before the show as I think I'm going to be a bit busy on the day... You can email me on horizonb7@dsl.pipex.com I only have a few S1 sets left, so if you do want one you should definitely get in touch before the show. - Diane
20. The box-sets are £37.99 plus the extra £10 for the attending cast to sign. And yes, it is a bargain. You can pay more if you want... - Diane G
21. Yes, there should be. There are some poster size prints that will be available, and we're hoping to have some 10x8s as well. They will all be at the B7 signing area. - Diane Horizon, Blake's 7 Fan Club
22. Sorry, been too busy organising the DVDs and Showmasters guest & crew food to notice this one. (I can't see a smilie for 'exhaustion' - is there one??) Yes, Aspen is correct - Jacqueline and the other B7 cast are £10 each, and if you buy the S3 DVDs from Horizon (in the B7 signing area) they'll all sign the box for just £10. - Diane G Horizon, B7 Fan Club Co-ordinator and Showmasters Top Trolly-Dolly
23. To answer your question, Aspen, Stephen Greif only appeared in Season 1 and Brian Croucher only appeared in Season 2. The others were in Season 3. We will have plenty of DVDs available on the day, but you're welcome to reserve one in advance if you're worried about it. We do take credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, Delta, Switch) though on the day we'd prefer cash (or cheque with a bank guarantee card) if at all possible. If you, or anyone else, should want to order DVDs in advance to collect at the show (or the special panel tickets), just email me at horizonb7@dsl.pipex.com and I can email you back a booking form & full instructions. - Diane
24. I think Ted's ex-wife then married (or lived with) Terry. And the son did turn out to be gay (after sleeping with Tiff!!) though I don't remember him being a drugs dealer. - Diane
