Ah but who do you buy an early bird for and whose party do you go to (if the other one has a party even)? i really hope they are both on the same weekend, my plan would be to go early and get early bird tickets for both or just book in advance ,thats £20 saved already. a soon as its confirmed then i'm gonna book my train to save even more money.

the move doesnt bother me much, still costs about the same for me to get to. doesnt matter where they have it, if they get good guests (for me) then i'll go, if they dont then i wont.

seeing as there is a dr.who event 2 weeks before this i think a bit of diversity wouldnt go amiss. the only telly show i collect from is buffy, so a buffy guest would be nice. apart from that its mostly horror or film guests i'm after. a jason voorhes would be great, since the last 2 cancelled and as a very very very long shot...jamie lee curtis

the 1st glasgow was my first event, been to 7 since and i am looking forward to it as its the only event that doesnt cost me an fortune to go to. so as long as they get 1 guest i want to meet i will be going to support the glasgow event.

if it is, then for me its a good thing, 2 cons for the price of one trip, or just one depending on the guests. either way it will be interesting.

i see a lot of people saying it was good because it wasnt busy, i doubt sm will see that as a good thing. good to see that EVERYBODY that went had a great time though.

there are other ways to communicate , a simple text to a mod and they could have posted it here. its the kind of information that could cost people a lot of wasted time and money. are you so out of touch with reality that you think only the borg are capable of creating a network of communication and co-operation.

surely if the mods have enough time to read through all the posts and delete any that didnt give the show a glowing review then one could have at least put up a topic saying she cancelled?

well it would have been useful for people to hear others views on the show to maybe inform people of what to expect, things like guest price increases and late cancellations might affect a lot of people going tomorrow.

ok i'm relatively new to the con scene compared to a lot of peeps, i would consider myself a pretty big star wars fan so its been exciting for me to meet some of the stars of the films after watching them since before i can remember. but i have never noticed this guy in the many many times ive watched and have absolutely no interest in travelling to meet him. i'd rather we got one actual star of the film rather than lots of extras. someone who may have been a stand in for c3-po's feet in one shot and a guy who just happens to be sitting in fron of han solo in a scene. is this really the best sm is capable of now? half of the guests put together have about 10 minutes and 4 lines between them in the films they are apparently famous for. i really cant wait to see what they put on at glasgow, i really hope they pull their finger out and get some decent guests.

I doubt he double booked, he was announced 8 months ago then cancels 11 days before the show and then he is announced on a diff show that runs 310ct-2nov. a pretty rubbish show i might add. i stand by my previous statement, he made a fool out of sm and his fans. i pity the fools.

This is Colin Higgins just testing. colin higgins was the 'fake wedge antilles' who was fired for fluffing his line, many people thought that it was jack klaff who was the fake wedge in the briefing scene, but if you look at their faces you can tell they are in fact not the same person. personally i'd like to see some of the main characters attending, i've been a fan of star wars since my earliest memories but have no desire to get everyone who appeared in the films autos, some of the main cast would be nice.

yes the picture is correct, you only see him clearly for a few secs in the film.

JACK KLAFF - red 4 (john d) credited red 2356 are mentioned in the film, red 4 is not. he appears when another pilot calls out "watch out! youve got one one your tail" . cuts to red 4 shaking his head, cuts to tie pilot firing, cuts back to red 4 who says "i'm hit" , then he blows up.

I'm afraid that is such a ridiculously self-centred view of the situation that I cannot let it go unchallenged. It is very probable that whatever has cropped up has only done so very recently, and couldn't be avoided. I have no knowledge of why Dwight cancelled, and no desire to know, but whether these things be work-related or family/personal-related, I'm sure that he has good reason for not coming. I pity the fool that challenges my ridiculously self centred statement.

he was announced on the flyers at the first midlands show, many people have booked travel & accomodation to meet him, if he disrepects his fans by waiting till so late to cancel he shouldnt be invited back ever.

well as far as i know he has cancelled at least 4 cons this year, he is currently shooting a film and is in the process of filing a lawsuit against his father for nearly a million dollars, but i'm sure he'll turn up. not that i care either way really, i just popped in to see if smg had been announced yet.

there is also the sports guests. but judging by the forum in which they havent bothered to announce the guests and the last post was 4 weeks ago not many people are excited about. i'm hopeful for glasgow though, i'm sure they will get some good guests and first time signers for that. (goes to check) oh no, just the 3 dr.who guests then (so far). with all these current (soon to be forgotten) hit shows around just now it seems like it could be a while before the cow is fully milked and they will need to return to putting on a decent show again.
