  1. Chris Wood (Containment) Ryan Reynolds Will Smith Nathan Fillion Gina Torres any of the cast from The Expanse and I'd love to see Sigourney Weaver come back. I missed her last year as the event clashed with something else. I had arranged for a friend to grab an autograph but that fell through at the last minute. As for returning guests from this year, Pilou Aesbek (missed meeting him, wasn't on my list but regretting that now!) Alyson Hannigan and Kevin Smith. Maybe a Jay & Silent Bob reunion with getting Jay Mewes over again?
  2. I have another suggestion seems many people have either gone down with a nasty cold, or stomach bug, or a combination of the two. I know Cons are Petri dishes when it comes to con crud going around but would a hand sanitising station/hand sanitiser in the bathrooms be out of the question? I saw a hand wash/sanitising station at an animal event once and it works really well! People are gross, let's be honest here!
  3. Maybe they could work like normal shop gift vouchers with a use by date (i think around 2 years is the standard) in values of £5s and £10s, you could buy a book of how much you think you might need and if you didn't use them at one event, you could use them at another within the use by date, or use them towards buying photoshoots. Just an idea I agree that ending VQ would be a bad idea. It works well, providing that people don't abuse the system, such as reusing tickets etc. Very disappointed to see in some other threads on here that this was the case with some queues. I wish I could say I was surprised but I worked in retail for 20 years and have seem people try all sorts of things to try and scam others. Play fair, guys! Fair enough, thanks for the response! PS, found the Eventbrite app very useful for this and can recommend it! :) Yeah that's what I meant :)
  4. True, the hallmark of a great Con is the post Con blues! :) I go back to work tomorrow but I have an awesome job so i'm OK with that!
  5. Yes, I have a Katee Sachoff autograph that I kept in the toploader and stuck to my wall. Eventually the sun got to it and it yellowed so I went to reframe it and found the sharpied autograph had stuck to the inside of it and ruined the photo during removal. I don't use those anymore. I buy all of my auto stuff from Arrowfile now. They're not cheap but they do the job and I've not had any problems since. I don't really bother with putting signed pics on walls anymore though.
  6. Despite an overall awesome event (we have been doing LFCC for many years, but skipped events since Stan Lee as the chaos was too much at that one) this was one of the better ones, but there were a few niggles we had over the weekend. 1) I got a diamond pass for my husband for Kevin Smith. I really wanted diamond for Alyson Hannigan too but it cost £40 more than just getting a photo and autograph separate and I had no interest in the talk. Some people in this thread have suggested customisable passes & I think this would be an excellent idea for future events. 2) when I was checking the VQ numbers for Tom Skerritt on the friday, a gentleman with a diamond pass for him tried to join the queue and was told by the crew member that he was unable to do so. He got upset and said he thought diamond meant he could hop onto the end of the queue at any time to get his autograph and was told this was not the case. However, I know many people who had diamond passes for many guests and were able to get their autographs with no problem. There needs to be clear rules for crew members to follow to prevent incidents like this from occurring. if that guy is reading this, I hope he was eventually able to get his autograph and it didn't put him off from attending future events. I would have been upset too if that had been me. 3) my husband had his photo op with Kevin Smith and Kevin asked the photographer to take the shot again at his request. When my husband went to pick up his photo he was told to choose which shot he wanted. When he asked why he couldn't take both, he was told he could if he paid for another photoshoot. Since when has this been the case? I have 3 separate shots with Jay Mewes from a few years back because the photographer took my photo 3 times and several other guests where more than one photo was taken and was allowed to take home all of the shots. I know digital copies will be available soon but it seems a bit unfair having to pay £40 for the other shot if they're printed anyway and are just going to be binned if nobody picks them up. 4) the sword/knife stalls, I think they're a tricky subject, especially in today's climate. When I was browsing i saw they were abiding by the law, asking for ID, sealing the product and telling people not to open the product until they were in their home, all well and good, yet an hour or so later I was very disturbed to see a young lad of around 11 wandering around the hall with an open flick knife in his hands. 1) if he brought it in himself, how did he get it past security? Or 2) if it was brought for him, where was the responsible parenting? Yes, I did inform security. 5) vouchers for autographs. I'd like to be able to pre buy autographs online and show them to the crew member at the desk. I'm not keen on carrying huge amounts of cash around with me and have a limit on how much I can take out daily, as most bank accounts do. That just makes you a target and I'm not comfortable with that. I know you can buy autograph vouchers at the desk (or you used to be able to) but that still means having to carry wads of cash around with you. Also, just an idea, but as our weather is unpredictable, would it be possible to buy some of those disposable rain smocks you get at festivals at future events? I got soaked on the Saturday walking back to the station and have a rotten cold now! 6) and just a personal gripe, but no tea/coffee van outside the venue? Those guys were a nice action to past events and often cheaper than the vendors inside, especially when it came to cuppas and bottled water.
  7. We just got a print and lanyard for my husbands Kevin Smith diamond pass. I asked if there was anything else but they were too busy at the table to hear me. Did we miss out on something?
  8. Not my first LFCC by a long shot but certainly one of the better ones! 1) meeting Alyson Hannigan and Kevin Smith, who have been on my "want" list for many years and who did not disappoint, they were both so nice and seemed genuinely happy to be there! Can we have them back please? 2) Kevin Smith popping out before his Sunday shoot to give a little and hilarious speech to everybody waiting 3) Benedict Wong having himself a little party with a loudspeaker on the way out of his photoshoot on the Sunday 4) Alexis Denisoff, in the queue for his autograph, every single person who walked away from his table said "he's SO nice!" And he was very sweet to the couple in front of me with their son who got a little upset that he wasn't allowed to get a selfie 5) the crew member on the 3pm Sunday photoshoot for Alyson was amazing at clearing his floor and organising everyone into queues, he lost it a little around batch 5 & 6 when people got a little bit impatient but still held it together enough to keep control. That man needs a raise! :) 6) the dude in the red Warhammer cosplay was immense and amazing, at one point I saw one of his crew giving him water and he was sweating buckets. I don't know how he managed to get through the whole weekend in that but kudos to him! 7) the many people who asked me about the Portal cube i made (I was Chell with a portal cube on the Saturday and my husband was Silent Bob on the Saturday) I do actually have the portal gun but was unable to locate it in time for Saturday so just did a really quick botch job of a cube on Friday evening with a box, a hot glue gun, some foam and paint I had laying around. Considering it was a really quick make, many thanks to those of you who said it was awesome! Also thanks to the guy who sang "this is a triumph!" To me when I was holding my cube in the air so I didn't bash anyone with it. You made me laugh! 8) the amount of people who said "nice Silent Bob cosplay!" To my husband on the Sunday when he wasn't doing a cosplay, you made his day! :) In all, it was a very relaxed convention. The last LFCC we did was the Stan Lee one and TBH it was chaotic and kind of put us off going but this years line up was unmissable. Showmasters seems to have hit on a formula that works, having the autographs separate to the stalls is great and eases overcrowding (around the stalls anyway!) And there was a nice mix of merchandise overall. A very enjoyable Con, we were still exhausted 2 days later!
