  1. Yeah I get that 'Loading' issue if I use Safari on my iPhone and hit the back button. Ah, technology!
  2. Not really... as mentioned above, the Millennium Stadium is in the city centre but I don't think (from my very limited knowledge of its internals) that it'd be particularly well suited for a convention like this. Everything has to be based around the main hall, and the one in the Motorpoint is the biggest I can think of in Cardiff at least. If Newport or Swansea have something bigger, I'm not aware (although I'm pretty sure Newport doesn't), but Cardiff tends to be the place to go for bigger events. I was under the presumption that 1st Floor was being used as a back stage area, but regardless - the venue was massively understaffed (by Motorpoint people, as they were lead to believe this would be a MUCH small event) so from a legal point of view I don't think they would've been allowed to open up another area. Hell, I'm not convinced the amount of people they had in per members of staff was exactly legal, but there weren't any problems at least. Next event, Showmasters will have a better knowledge of the venue and the venue will be far better prepared to deal with that level of people. I don't think there'll be any major problems.
  3. Yeah, you can definitely tell there's a strong bond between the cast. I think if there wasn't, we wouldn't still be getting new episodes many years later. Would've been even better if Craig was there, hopefully another time. With regards to Aliens, I think it's a bit different when the three people on stage are only tied to a single production from 30 years ago. I still enjoyed it, but the questions seemed more geared to the guests as individuals as opposed to shared memories of Aliens. Also an introduction to each person might've helped - I had to check imdb as to what participation Trevor did, from his billing (and description at his booth) I presumed he was a stuntman as opposed to a legitimate member of the Colonial Marines.
  4. Yeah pretty much unofficially official from what Chris was saying! At least it sounds like there's not going to be any holdups. I still can't get over how much I enjoyed the last series, given how much I hated Back to Earth (and I never even saw parts 2 and 3 of that). It was a great talk, hearing them do their impressions of each other, and Robert doing his Kryten was brilliant, as well as talk about Spittin' Image and the various stories. Very entertaining all in all.
  5. I have a slightly different problem... if I use the Invision Power Boards app on my iPhone and sign in, I can navigate the forum as expected - but any time I go to a thread, it needs top open it in an external window. I admin an IPB board myself so I know it's not the app, as my site is working fine. It's not a major issue, but it's a bit odd. I know IPB can get bogged down in crap especially when you've been online as long as our sites have!
  6. Yeah, hearing Robert put on the Freddy voice to mess with people was awesome. Everything I ever read about him said that he was an incredibly nice person, and it definitely came across at the autograph booth. I didn't really have anything to ask/say, so only had a very brief chat but definitely a highlight of the day. I had a feeling that despite the serious roles I mainly know Lance from that he'd have a good sense of humour, he comes across as a good dude... definitely someone you'd want to go for a pint with!
  7. Anyone who is active on a US Network (i.e. ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC) show is going to be still involved in shooting around that time period, so don't get your hopes up for those people. Definitely down with Mister Mosh's request for horror or Terminator universe people. Without a regular gig on, it'd be awesome to have someone like Linda Hamilton (then I do a Google search and realise she was over in July for the London convention... dammit!)
  8. I can't imagine it being anywhere other than the Motorpoint next year to be honest, I can't think of anywhere else they could hold it. I don't know the Millenium Stadium that well mind (from a convention pov), but things of that scale tend to happen at the Motorpoint. It's kind of the 'to go' place here really. However, hopefully next time around the venue will be properly prepared. I was told around total foot traffic yesterday was in the region of 6-7x what was expected and the staff count reflected that. With more stewards the queuing situations would probably have been better, lucky the crowd were for the most part well behaved which helped a lot. Personally, I turned up around 9.45am and was surprised I didn't have to queue to get in at all... I just walked through the door. When we went for lunch, it was going around the block.
  9. It'll have to be Matt, despite knowing he had drug convictions TNA advertised him being in London last year. They had to pull him when it became obvious he wouldn't be allowed to enter the country.
  10. Reading previous London threads, people seemed to say very positive things about Lea Thomson, and it'd be a good excuse for me to buy a BTTF print as I'm sadly lacking one at the moment. Quite jealous that London gets Ernie Hudson this winter too, that's a fun booking.
  11. I went to an event in New Jersey before 'Mania this year, and Lita was there doing autographs. She was really nice, although it might've been an event close to her (I'm not sure where she lives).
  12. Colette was lovely, I had an Aliens poster that I asked her to sign and she was more than happy to do another sig (and phrase) on an 8x10 as well as pose for a photo that her crew member took. Genuinely lovely person. Also met Robert Englund briefly (it was late and his line had been moving slowly but still had a little chat), and Lance Henriksen who gave me a funny look after I accidentally implied that watching his bad guys in the 90s influenced my morality. Again, happy to pose for a quick photo too. Shout outs to John Leeson who watched me take a photo of my friends next to K-9 as he was returning to his booth and let out a 'that... is... satisfatory'. Oh, and the Dalek who said 'Mornin!' to me when we were posing for a photo.
