  1. I'm was hoping for Richard Dean Anderson as well, plus Claudia Black, Sean Bean or any of the big-name Game of Thrones / Walking Dead / Supernatural cast, but I think I might have been being a tad optimistic. I guess Peter Capaldi would have been a massive crowd-pleaser as well (Me included). If the names announced in the last day or two complete the line-up for next weekend's event, it looks like I am indeed going to be a disappointed bunny. Oh well, more funds for Santa I guess.
  2. You've got to admit David that this line-up falls far short of what MK Collectormania visitors usually enjoy. Fair enough, if Showmasters want to concentrate on other shows rather than the MK event then that is their decision to make, but please don't patronise us. It is obvious to anyone who looks at the Collectormania 22 web page that the current line-up is nothing like the ones usually advertised. If this is how the line-up ends up for MK 22, then that is not a problem, its not worth getting all bent out of shape about... I just won't attend the event. The advertised guests will obviously be of interest to some of the hardcore fans and that is fine - good luck to them. This won't put me off visiting future MK events (Assuming the line-up improves), I am just really disappointed that an event I look forward to attending every year looks like it has been relegated to a second division show.
  3. I agree that guest lists are very much a personal preference thing, but you have to admit David that this November's list is way below par for the MK events. I think you only have to look at some of the posts on this forum to see how disappointed the Collectormania MK fanbase is. I am not knocking Showmasters as I have been a loyal attender at their MK & London events for years & usually love the MK show, I am just really disappointed that the attendee list for next month's event is so shockingly sparse of bigger names that I probably won't make it along. Perhaps I've just been spoiled by the guest lists for previous MK events & I am asking for too much... Still, at least this way I don't overload my credit card like I usually do !
  4. Totally agree with SciFiRob's comment. Last November's MK Collectormania was great. We met Lance Henricksen, Robert Knepper, Billy Dee Williams & Mira Furlan to name just four. It was an excellent day and I had hoped that this November's event would be equally exciting. To my great disappointment though, the guest list is so poor, it doesn't look like I will be attending. I didn't go to the WLFCC this month as I was hoping to save my dosh in case any exciting guests were announced for MK. I thought that, as the two events are so close together, going to both WLFCC & Collectormania MK would be too heavy on the wallet. Doh ! Looks like that plan didn't work out for the best then. Gutted !
  5. I think it probably will be on the quiet side. I only live about 50 mins away &, as it stands, this will be the first year in ages that I don't attend. I'm afraid the stalls by themselves aren't enough of a draw to bring me over to MK.
  6. I'm really starting to think that the November MK event will not be worth me attending. Less than three weeks to go & not a single guest that makes me want to make the trip (I would have gone to see Amanda Tapping, but met her a while back at one of the LFCC events - Very nice lady !). Normally I have to try and plan my day & get there early to bag all my queuing tickets, but this time.... errrrr... there aren't any tickets that I would need to get. I'm absolutely gutted that Collectormania seems to be being neglected in favour of the big London shows and the new events around the country. Its just a bit annoying that the summer LFCC event had more guests than I could get round in the day whilst the MK event now seems to have been relegated to a second division show. I have always enjoyed the Collectormania MK as the guests, halls and merchandising stands aren't as horrifically rammed with people as some of the LFCC events are, but there are usually still plenty of big-name stars to meet. Hopefully the SM guys will prove me wrong a pull something out of the bag, & I will end up heading MK-wards in November after all.
  7. I agree guys. I've been going to the shows at MK for a few years & the line up for next month's show is not very inspiring at all up to now. I have said before that I am happy for the Star Wars completists who can get some rare names on their posters, but that isn't really for me I am afraid. Call me Mr Shallow, but I do like a big name or two to be able to talk about after the event. Saying "Wow I met Lance Henriksen from Terminator & Aliens on Saturday" is way cooler than saying "Oh I met a guy who was in the background in a couple of scenes of the Phantom Menace". Sorry - I don't mean to belittle the guys who do a sterling job as extras and small part actors, I just enjoy meeting the bigger name celebs who usually attend these kind of events. Just hoping some big names get announced soon or this may be the first time in a long time that I don't bother attending a Collectormania event. I will be gutted if this proves to be the case as I always look forward to this show.
  8. I agree with Faerie Tanith. I have been a regular visitor to Showmasters events over the last few years, but this one has the least inspiring line up of any that I have seen. I fully understand that the Star Wars completists will be happy with the line-up of first-time signers and I'm pleased that they are excited about their attendance, but to be honest, that doesn't float my boat at all. Unless there are some biggish name announcements being held back, it is sadly looking like this is the first Collectormania event in a long time that I won't be attending. Amanda Tapping and Chris Barrie are the only big name draws for me, & I met Amanda already at LFCC 2013 and Chris at the Entertainment & Media Show a couple of years back. Just hoping the guys at Showmasters have a cunning plan up their sleeves...
  9. Doh ! There aren't any guests left that are making me want to attend this time which is a real shame as I love the event at MK. Hope there are some big name announcements to come soon to make me change my mind...
