  1. I went "YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Saw what day he was attending and died a little inside... a little? A LOT. I love this man.
  2. I cannot WAIT to get this photo - my 5ft 1 to his ridiculous height is going to look hilarious. Can't wait.
  3. I don't work weekends, but at any weekend event, I will only tend to do the Saturday - Sunday is my day of rest before I'm back at work on the Monday lol. It's as simple as that for me.
  4. I only attended Saturday Positive Quality quests (all of them) Prop photo shoots Stalls Crew at photo booth A (particularly the older gent in glasses. He was an absolute star - knew what was going on, kept everyone updated, kept everyone smiling in the heat and delays). Cosplayers (as always) David on Twitter - most helpful and patient guy ever. Negatives Overcrowding inside Queue jumpers inside and out Lack of queue barriers (these are a god send - seriously) Posters at sales desk weren't updated when a guest had sold out so only found out when I got to the front after queueing for quite some time. Heat inside the venue. I don't believe the air con was on all day because at one point, all of a sudden we felt it quite obviously and there was no less people in there. Female toilet access or lack of Aisles to stalls were too narrow which meant they were too difficult to get to Trailerfest Lack of signage generally - could be bigger, higher up so easier to see, updated more often Some crew unable to answer basic information eg no one was able to tell me what queue to join to gain entry. Ended up just asking loads of attendees. Attitudes of some crew. It's understandable that volunteers will get stressed due to the sheer amount of people and constant changes but if you are representing an organisation you need to take it on the chin and deal with it all in a professional manner. No snide comments, no snapping in retaliation, no 'I couldn't care less' attitudes.
  5. I'll take that as a resounding no then lol
  6. The problem with lanyards is that someone can just take it off when they leave and give it to someone else that maybe hasn't paid to get in, there's no way to check. Maybe sealed wristbands instead then like a gig/festival. Not easy to get off and pass along without it looking like you have. The material ones with a metal clamp are the best, only way to get them off is cutting them off, so no one could pass them along (if attached correctly) Even the reinforced papery ones they use at smaller gigs are good and less expensive than fabric ones- the stuff that sticks them down is hardcore and normally they only come off if you cut them
  7. DEFINITELY. Either lanyard passes or wristbands. Yeah - I was stamped 3 times, only because I asked out of fear I'd get questioned if my stamp completely rubbed off which the first two very nearly did.
  8. Yeah I agree. Although I don't go for the autographs myself - hearing of people getting 10+ things signed is shocking and just wastes valuable time for both the guest and other attendees.
  9. I'd be more than happy to pay extra for my entry ticket - whether early bird or standard - but only if it meant there was going to be considerably less people on the day. I also like the sound of the package deals for the A list guests! :)
  10. Thank you for this. It has clarified a lot and your response is much appreciated. I would just like to add... not to stir up trouble but to just put fact across... as an early bird ticket holder myself, I was not actually in the venue until around 10:35. Not a huge difference in time but I was in the queue with everyone else and that's the I stepped through the doors. Look forward to WLFCC :) Axe.
  11. This is the first time round that I didn't have time to head on over and watch. Gutted. It's normally my highlight.
  12. Laminating is the best option in my opinion - as long as there's not loads of ink on the page for it to potentially smudge...? I wouldn't go for hairspray as in my experience it leaves an unpleasant layer of tack on the photo which can sometimes been seen in certain lights. You can get professional sealing spray for almost anything - best thing to do is use trusty Google if you go down that road. :)
  13. I didn't and she's been to all the cons I have been to so far. NEXT TIME she's there I am definitely getting a photo with her. I absolutely love her and have only heard lovely things!
  14. That was so lovely of her. I'm sure she knew how grateful you were but I also hope she sees this just for peace of mind for you :)
  15. I've only been to one and it was smaller in both aspects.
  16. Hey guys, I don't know if my spec list is just rare or I'm just not looking in the right place but I can't seem to find the type of scrap book/photo album I'd like and was wondering if anyone could steer me in the right direction if you know of anything else? I want a landscape style book, with fairly thick pages, not necessarily cardboard thick but hard wearing I guess. Something I can use sticky photo corners on so I'm not directly sticking my photos down. And preferably something that has transparent plastic covers over each page... again - not the type that stick across the page (like my mums old school photo albums) - just something for basic protection against the top of the photo. That might not ring any bells for anyone but for me it's clear as day lol. If no suggestions on that particular idea - what does everyone else use? Currently I just have a 'comic con box'. Cheers, Axe.
  17. Yeah - the majority of people politely put their concerns across which is fine but then there's a handful that do it in quite an aggressive way which really isn't needed as it only riles people up more. David was clearly just pointing out that arguments won't get anyone anywhere.
  18. I've only heard great things about this guy. So glad everyone had a great experience (a friend of mine included). Awesomesauce.
  19. Totally agree. If they come on and comment without addressing it fully people will jump on them like hounds so it's definitely best to take time, look at all areas and only THEN comment.
  20. Didn't get to meet them, though a friend I was with met Lawrence and Jose and said they were both awesome. I did do a little autograph table stalking and got a wicked little photo of Vincent posing for me haha. Will definitely meet them if they come to an event again.
  21. I didn't mind the throne and I love my picture. I mean... if you were expecting the actual throne from the actual show then you have pretty high expectations.. unless it is digitally enhanced on the show
  22. I'm not crew but i have to say, the older gent managing Stan's photo queue in the second session (not sure if he was there for the first) was an absolute diamond. He put up with mine (and many others) moaning about everything and nothing. He went out of his way to try and cheer people up and make them laugh, he even got a smile out of me which isn't easy to do lol. An absolute star through and through... I hope he had a good weekend and people didn't make it anymore stressful than it probably already was.
