  1. Oh, he was superb in the Spiderman Broadway show! Going to need to get something from that signed!
  2. Looking at the other ones, my God Nicola Bryant still looks gorgeous! Wish they could get her on the new show for a guest appearance..
  3. On Sunday my Patrick Stewart photo came out black on the printer as something was going wrong with it. So me, the guy in front of me and a couple of folks behind us, had to go back in. And given that the photo session was wrapping up at the time, so Patrick could got to a a talk I guess (Only 10 folk had got in after me to begin with..) I was worried. Then when the helpers were telling Patrick what was going on, he got a little bit distracted and so his eyes were looking to the side. But to her credit the photo girl thought this might be the case, and shouted to me on my way out that I should have the photo checked again. I did so, and showed it to the guy there who promptly tore it, and sent me around again. (Now I was the last person and I was worried that Patrick would be quite annoyed to see me again.. ) Thankfully though because it was beginning to be a running joke meeting me again, and again, Patrick saw the funny side of it, and we got a great photo as a result. (Third times the charm!) So I guess some staff were better than others, as all the ones I interacted with were great!
  4. Not sure if it was the same helper. But the girl who was with him when I went for an autograph on Friday was perfectly nice with me. Even complementing me on the choice of photo. (It was a blown up screencap from the TNG 1st season episode Hide and Q..where Picard and Q start throwing lines from Hamlet at each other. Needless to say I got Patrick Stewart to sign it as well!) He was a bit reserved though, but since I'd never met him before maybe I was just unfairly comparing him to the over the top flamboyance of Q! From what little I saw of him on stage, he seemed more into it then.. Maybe he was just bored. (As there was no queue when I went to his autograph table, ironically enough..)
  5. Hah! I never actually got Scott to sign anything Star Trek related. (Don't think it's his best work. Though a lot of the problems on Enterprise certainly weren't his fault..) No I had him sign two photos from Quantum Leap, (One of which I'd had signed from Dean Stockwell about 15 years ago at a show in Bristol..) and another one for my brother from the Chuck tv show. And he wrote completely different personalised message on all them. Without me even asking him to. Such a GREAT guy!
  6. I saw this on the BBC last week. Hardtalk is right. Thought the interviewer was verging on nasty..
  7. Mlong, that's a fantastic pic of Kate and the Bunnies! (Hah! That almost sounds like a rockband!)
  8. Link works fine =) and OMG i'm LOVING this pic. Loved the story in your description and I love seeing William Shatner in the captains chair!! So jelous Thanks! I haven't got the best scanner in the world. And part of me still wonders if I should have just made it a normal smiling pic, instead of trying to mimic Nimoy. (Which outside Zachery Quinto..just can't be done!) But I'm happy with it. It's more the experience of it, when your there and you're right next to him with the bridge background behind him. I think I was quite lucky in that I was one of the first persons going into that shoot, so they were still messing about with the camera a little bit at that point, which gave me the perfect opportunity to talk to Shatner a bit more. (Mine was a low number probably because i got up really early that morning to secure the ticket. So lucky that I was staying over with my friend in Croydon. I live in Scotland, so if I'd been staying in a hotel I might have missed the Friday captains talk, and then not even found out about the William Shatner bridge shoot, as it did seem to be a very late addition. It's not even in the programme! I'm guessing they sold out pretty quickly on the saturday morning.) Though I'd bet once they got into it more, people would have been getting rushed through. But it was really amazing! I'm so glad that they added it. And yeah I wish they'd been able to do it for more folks. (I heard it was only the Saturday) I wonder if William Shatner missed out on dinner at Patricks to do this. (Scott Bakula, Micahel Dorn and Brent Spiner went over to his place after the show..There's a great pic of it here:- http://www.startrek.com/article/destination-star-trek-london-recap-day-3 I think I was really lucky with the Captains all in. As they had printer problems towards the end of Patricks first photo shoot on the sunday. Which meant I got sent round three times!! I remember saying to a guy in front of me who had been sent round twice, (as his hadn't printed first time round either, but his second one was fine..) that Patrick's gonna start getting really annoyed with me. But no, he was totally great about it! Thankfully! The only one I wish I got a slightly better photo with was Scott. But I got told he doesnt tend to smile so much in photos..(Though maybe they were telling me that to make me feel better LOL!) But still that was more than made up for at the autograph sessions, as he was, by far, the warmest and nicest of all the guests that I met. GREAT guy! But spending on all these photos and autographs did mean that I missed out on some other things. Didn't get to go to Avery, Kate, Brent, John DeLancie or the Enterprise guy's talks. And from what clips I saw of Kate's talks, hers looked really excellent. So I'm quite jealous of folks who got to attend all those talks!
  9. Scott Bakula! I'd never met him before, but had absolutely loved Quantum Leap. So it was great to see that in real life he was every bit as nice and friendly a guy as Sam Beckett. (The character he played in that show.) I actually wished I'd brought more photos with me for him to sign, as I really loved chatting away with him at the autograph sessions! He would shake hands as soon as he met you, and also when you were departing. (And again if you went to the photo sessions..) And any time I asked a question he would give me his full attention, and have a quite a story to tell in his answer. And I loved finding out from him that he still keeps in contact with Dean Stockwell (Al). Such a lovely guy! P.S And Jeffrey Combs was great as well. I gave him a photo of The Question from the old Justice League animated show, and half expected him to be insulted. And instead he loved it. (And like Scott too actually..) wrote a great personalisation without me even having to ask him to. (He wrote.."Jason..It's all a Conspiracy!" Which is sooo appropriate if you know the character.)
  10. I loved it. I think some folks are indeed not understanding the difference between a show and a convention. Conventions tend to be organised by fans. (Which is not to say the runners of this, and most especially the daytime staff/helpers aren't.) What I mean is that this was a larger more professionally run venue. I went to some Babylon 5 conventions back in the day, and there are defintely pros and cons to fan conventions too. Yes, (at least back then..) you might not get charged for autographs..(maybe just the photos if you don't have any to sign..) but at the same time you wouldn't get professional photo shoots, let alone some of the things that were going on at destination. (e,g Stunts shows, Bridge Photo shoots and the like..) So it's a bit of a trade off. And most times there's no way to predict the speed of queues or the amount of unforseen setbacks that can arise on a day to day basis. I thought the staff were great, and I felt bad for some of the folks at the ticket office/sales desks who I saw get a lot of abuse. They were all great with me, And seemed particularly happy when I was paying for things with £5 notes. (As I'd been staying over with a friend in Croydon. And one of the atms there was only paying out £5 notes!) One lovely girl actually said she loved me when I paid for my William Shatner talk and photo shoots in such a fashion. And as someone who once worked in a cinema, I can well understand how stressful it gets when you're serving a never ending queue and everyone pays with £20 notes. No matter how much change you have, it's never enough! But I came away with autographs and professional photos of three of my all time screen icons-Scott Bakula (who I've loved since Quantum Leap) Patrick Stewart and William Shatner. And I certainly didn't expect the last of these to be on the bridge of the original enterprise! That plus the Captains talks really made this an unforgettable experience for me. And I got to do all this on a standard 3 day pass. (Don't really understand how folks could shell out on the VIP stuff, but hey if they've got the money to spare, who am I to judge? ) So thank you for a great event! This was probably going to be the last time I'd be able to go to such, (As my money's a bit tight these days due to changing employment situations..) But I felt like it was saving the best for last. I mean I once met Nathan Fillion, Ben Browder and Leonard Nimoy in a day at one of these types of events, and that takes a lot to top. But congratulations, Because you guys did so, with great aplomb. In fact it's probably appropriate that this was at the Excel. As for me it was Excellent experience through and through. Thanks again!
  11. Been loving the photos everyone's been posting, So I thought I'd pay back a little and post some of my own. I'm not a member of photobucket or anything like that, so I'll try and link them from my facebook page. Though I'm really not sure this will work, since I've never tried linking pics from there outside of Facebook:- Scott Bakula on the Saturday:- https://www.facebook...&type=1 Scott Bakula on the Sunday:- Patrick Stewart https://www.facebook...&type=1 And William Shatner on the Bridge https://www.facebook...&type=1
