Another Star Trek event next year?
mjkerr replied to goldenvoyager's topic in Destination Star Trek London
I've been looking into this and Media 10 hold the licence for events with the Star Trek name and branding in the UK Showmasters could hold such an event, but they would not be permitted to use the name and/or branding However, there are simple solutions to like, such as calling it "Trek Fans UK", etc -
I am trying to establish numbers, how many people booked a Photo Shoot with Alice Krige? If you did, did you receive the ticket? If so, what day and number was it? The one we had was : Sunday 34

Another Star Trek event next year?
mjkerr replied to goldenvoyager's topic in Destination Star Trek London
Showmasters invite guests who have appeared in Star Trek, sadly it is usually a small number (typically up to 5) Media 10 are planning another event in Europe within the next two years, but it won't be in Britain -

The Press Releases were sent by email I plan to add these to a website I plan to create in a few weeks time -
Another Star Trek event next year?

Reading through the Press Releases, they certainly suggest more events will follow in due course I was under the impression this event had more of a TNG theme However, if the next had such a theme that would limit the interest, and some people may not attend One main criticism was the lack of guests representing the Voyager series Personally, I think an annual event is overkill and either every second or four years would be better (if it was every four years, then later in the same year as the Olympics is easy to remember and plan for) -
Did you like the show overall? Yes or no

From memory the wording was "Visitor Management" Can someone confirm these staff were indeed working for Excel On Saturday morning they didn't seem to know what they were doing, but clearly they had learned from that mistake as Sunday morning was much more organised (albeit there was not so many people to deal with) -
Brent Spiner Talk - How Many Jokes? LOL
mjkerr replied to Aaron2029's topic in Destination Star Trek London
The Sunday Talk was probably just as funny The same name comment appeared Some details about the filming of Spot, the use of two cats, and how filming some scenes took all day A question was raised, starting "brace yourself", asking - If Brent morphed into an eight legged arachnoid, would be change his name to Spider? The look on Brents face! He did confirm that some people have called him Brent Spiner (pronounced spin-er) -
The crewmember organising Brent Spiner's VQ on Sunday
mjkerr replied to Kaiya's topic in Destination Star Trek London
I had a VQ ticket for Kate Mulgrew on Friday We were advised to come back at 17:30, which we did The sign was showing CLOSED NO MORE AUTOGRAPHS When we enquired, the Autographs had closed for the remainder of the day! So much for coming back anytime or as advised Equally, we were not the only ones As a result, this was the only Autograph we did not manage -
There is also the Hate Crime March and Rally, in the opposite direction at the same time, and then joining the above

Quite easily solved with a disclaimer that times are approximate and the guest may not be available for all of the alloted time Time is tight for some people so wasn't so much for me but for others... I would be quite happy to stand around for about 30 minutes waiting for a guest to come back As for other Showmasters events, they were in Scotland and you could count the number of guests we were interested in on one hand!

Could the organisers add a further feature, listing when each guest will be available for autographs I have managed to work out when each of the guests our party requires should be available (assuming 15 minutes before and after each event already listed in the timetable) However this does still leave some uncertainty, as time for larger breaks cannot be taken into account (especially on the Saturday and Sunday as I would expect lunch breaks of at least 1 hour) This wasn't a great issue at previous Showmasters events, as the number of guests was quite small, and when I asked how long it would be before they would be back was either given a rough time (usually within an hour) or advised they would find them and allow me a one-off signing as they had just gone on a break

Answers to Frequently asked Questions
mjkerr replied to Queen_Sindel's topic in Destination Star Trek London
There are two Costume Parades on each day Everyone MUST Sign In to the earlier one (Friday 16:00, Saturday 10:30 and Sunday 10:30) Finalists are then selected, and they must sign in at the second event, and a winner in each category is then awarded *Not to be confused with the World Record attempt on Saturday -
Yet another page well hidden on the DSTL website http://www.startreklondon.com/highlights/112-stunt-show Tickets are £10 The Stunt Show lasts about 45 minutes

See Tickets have confirmed that although our tickets were marked as dispatched, they won't reach us in time now (they should have been sent on Friday, but a small number missed the deadline) See Tickets have now referred me to : https://www2.seetick...terms_popup.asp "When tickets are being collected at the box office, we ask that the cardholder presents the card that the tickets were booked on as identification"

The advice I received was that the event is nearer the East entrance, but it won't make much difference
