  1. Can we please just get the whole cast of Critical Role here? That would be an epic day.
  2. @AMS546 your comment was purposefully nasty. There was no need.
  3. I think a lot of the negative feedback could've been easily avoided by SM if they posted a clear complaints procedure for anyone that was unhappy. I think a lot of people became more annoyed that their complaints weren't being taken seriously. And even worse, they were being attacked for it. I for one enjoyed a lot of the weekend and the negatives were only small things, but the reasction to those negatives made me more frustrated than the event ever could. I am annoyed about wasting £80 on party tickets for two people. I would like to follow a clear complaints procedure in order to claim my money back but no one seems willing to take responsibility. I for one did not make a complaint to Watchdog but that's because I live in hope that this can be resolved by SM themselves.
  4. I feel that I've been doing the completely wrong thing on this forum today by complaining about random things on random posts and having no order to my thoughts. So here is my full review. I bought two 3-day standard passes for me and my other half. These were the highest proces we could afford due to things like travel and hotels but that was my choice. I was a little disgruntled, however, when I logged in to buy some extras (parties and photoshoot) to discover that the opening ceremony was a paid event. And a damn expensive one at that. I had thought originally that if I bought entrance to an event that I would be a party of the opening ceremony for that event. But alas, that was not the case. So I couldn't afford the Captain's talk so I bitterly missed it. Moving on... At 6am on the Friday morning I set off to London. We arrived at the hotel, waitied for check in, got ready and set off to the event. Took a while to get there because of the DLR but we made it in the end. We ended up not getting there until about 4pm. We went in and had a quick walk around to figure out what we wanted to do. (We didn't plan anything for Friday because we didn't know what time we would arrive)We decided to watch the stunt show. We headed on over to the entrance to the stunt area and asked how to get tickets, they told us to go to the ticket area outside. We did. They told us to go to the credit card sale area inside. We did. They sent us to the ticket collection area back outside again. And after queueing there for a while we were told to go back to the stunt area. This was about 17:15 and we gave up on seeing the stunt show. We proceeded to go and get some autographs. We got our Virtual Tickets and walked around for a bit until our numbers came up. When they did we headed over to Sir Pat Stew. (as he was nicknamed by me.) The staff member at the front of his queue was really nice. Very informative, jolly and seemed really happy to be there. You know who you are, well done :) We got our autographs from Patrick, Scott and Brent on the Friday evening which I thought was really good. After all this we went to get our goody bags. I really wishe we hadn't. We referred to it as the Advert Bag from then on. But it was handy for holding my autographs so far. i was hoping to get a good pre-signed autograph as I'd already decided that I would to to whoever it was and get them to personalise it (obviously I'd pay for it like a normal autograph). I thought it would be a great way to meet a guest I hadn't planned on meeting. but I somehow ended up with Neelix. After checking online and at the event, I couldn't find him and was a little bitter about another experience I was missing out on. So. By this point me and my other half were tired from all the travelling so we went back to the hotel to get ready for the party. We arrived and realised it was just a huge empty unit. But not ones to let it dampen the party mood, we went and got a drink and walked around. i was delighted to find the Laser Quest and Bungee Run were free events. They were so much fun! We drank some overly priced drinks and did a little dancing and then we noticed John De Lancie at the party having his photo taken with everyone that asked and I thought "That is amazing of him to do that!" I had my photo taken and had a genuinely good night. So well done for the Friday party! As you can see it was a mixed bag from the start. I'm not going to go into my Saturday and Sunday experience because it's pretty much the same deaql. Some amazing things and some awful things but I hope this has helped people to realise that I did enjoy the con but a lot of things were very difficult to overlook.
  5. This is really nice to read. I'm glad she helped you so much
  6. Thats all I wanted to know! Who to direct my issue to.
  7. So, no one will point me in the right direction?
  8. You say that the people complaining did not plan ahead. I have been planning my attendance to this event for a few months. You state "They just turned up after 9am and expected too much." - Well I had to stay in a hotel my friend worked in just to be able to afford this and it was a journey and a half (Marriott if you're curious and it was Two DLR's and a 15 minture walk away) and I still got there at half 8. "This was not a simple event where you could stroll in at your convenience." you're right, I had to stand in a queue in a different unit and I was guided in at someone else's convinience. And after all of this I was still excited! I had planned my days, I had schedules worked out on my phone! But upon arrival everything went wrong. I missed every free talk after standing in the morning queue because more people got there first. (Silver gold and platinum I expect), I was skint after forking out £1500 overall for this event (and all I got were two 3-day-standards) so I couldn't afford paid talks and I still tried to make the most of this event. Because if I really focussed on all the issues I would probably cry at the amount I spent compared to what I actually got. I committed to this event and I think your comment was unfair. P.s, my enjoyment to non enjoyment ratio was 50:50 so I think I had a better time than most.
  9. And to make a claim about false advertising is legit in this case. But you brought it up. Not me.
  10. Well, to be honest, I didn't like Neelix as a character. I would never have gone to get his autograph and it's not really a memory of the weekend as he wasn't there. Bobby Clarke was in one episode. Once. That's pretty minor and I had a blast meeting him. Getting a pre signed auto from someone brings them to your attention and I might have gone to see them while in the convention. Perhaps to get a personalisation on the autograph.
  11. And the goodie bag was a bag filled with adverts. I got a cardboard beer mat and a badge. Not exactly thrilling but since the contents were not listed prior to purchase I have no right to complaint about that aspect.
  12. I agree with the value for money aspect of the ticket and I'm not saying that the event was ruined by this but I still have to insist that if I buy something I expect to get what I purchased.
  13. I think you may have missed the point of my post. I paid for a pre-signed autograph from a guest in attendance. I didn't get that.
  14. Hello Everyone, I'd firstly like to say a big thank you to the guests who made this event worth attending. I'm not going to dwell on the disappointment that was Stage B because that's been hashed out already. I am curious about what was promised with my 3-day standard pass and I dont know who to direct my question to. On the website I was promised the following: 3 Day Event Access 1 Pre-Signed Autograph* 1 In-Person Autograph** Limited Edition Print Exclusive Goodie Bag * Pre-Signed Autographs will be randomly selected from guests attending, but will NOT include William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew or Scott Bakula. ** An 'In-Person' Autograph will be an autograph randomly selected by us, to collect in person, for one of the guests at the event – will not include William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew or Scott Bakula. My In person was Bobby Clarke and was actually really fun. My issue is with the pre-signed. now correct me if I'm wrong but Neelix didn'y actually attend the event and the website clearly stated that my autograph would be randomly selected from the guests attending. It wasn't. I would like for someone to explain the situation here because I (and many other people) did not receive what we paid for.
