Don't be afraid to call out the queue jumpers
twinzz replied to petrorabbit's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2015
"find a friend in the Queue" is very annoying, either find your friends before you queue or queue separately, it might sound harsh, but that's how we feel about it -
yup, he'll get you upto speed, fast as lightning!

We wish him a speedy recovery!! -
Well, I wasn't trying to "make excuses" at all - just put across a slightly different point of view. Let's say you're a plumber, you work large contracts, but ultimately you're self employed. You take on a small job that you're looking forward to doing - maybe it's in a good part of town, or you're friends with the home owner, but it *has* to be done on a certain day. A couple of days/weeks before you're due to do the job, your contact from the large contract you're currently working on calls you and tells you that there's been a change of plans, and that they need you that specific day too. The small job only takes you to do, but the larger job requires co-ordination of 50 other people, who are all in place. And, it's a longer term contract that allows you the opportunities to be able to take the smaller jobs once in a while. What do you do? We give you kudos for this analogy. If your boss tells you to show up for work because you're behind on schedule, you show up for work, no matter what sort of vacation you had planned. Studios (and especially the manpower behind it) cost a lot of money. If they schedule an actor to appear, he damn well appear on his call time. One rule in showbizz, everyone is replaceable, even the main character if it has to go that far. If an actor can't commit to his role they'll either swap him/her or write him/her out of it for good.

we believe she's currently traveling with her husband (judging her twitter feed) and finished working on "pandemic" and "continuum" recently -

That would mean you ask them to give up doing their jobs for something they do (basically) on the side. Cons aren't something most actors HAVE to do - unless their contract with studios/... tell them to - If such a clause would exist, there'd be a lot less working actors willing to attend cons -
Oh yes. Didn't Alex Meraz get called back from the airport once? I'm not sure if I have the right guest, but I remember it was someone from Twilight. Something similar happend to us when we were attending (another event) - lauren cohen was scheduled to appear, got on her flight and found out during her layover that her schedule had moved up... so she had to recollect her luggage at the layover point and haul back on the first flight back to the states for TWD reshoots

to the people who say putting photos on tickets (or even photo ID) is a perfect way to stop tickets to be handed over to other people..from experience (not with handing over any kind of tickets, just having to ID ourselves at places), we can say that's not exactly true. 1 in 75 births are twins, 1 out of 8 of those are identical -- see avatar -- with the limited amount of time allocated for ID'ing, people generally don't look at the details If we didn't go through airport security together, we could totally pull off one going in for another.
-
we think the only fair way to do this would be an official resale policy startin AFTER a day/event has been completely sold out where people who don't need the tickets for one reason or the other deal with Showmasters directly in getting their money back only after showmasters resells the ticket to a third party (and at face value + validation fee) - perhaps a dedicated email addresse solely dealing with the resale or an automated system on the website that gives the seller/buyer proof that it was done via "legal" ways

We have a really good HP photoprinter so we just use the HP high quality photo paper and have had no issues with sharpie smudges or smearing, or fading for that matter. For safety, we do allow some time to "air dry" the ink before putting it in a folder... basically means we frantically wave it in the air for like a minute & then cover it with a piece of regular white paper before putting it in any kind of folder but we do this regardless of home-print or delivered print (call us a bit OCD :-) )

Going to the Eventbrite website: no issues Going to the LFCC tab: just a little slow but nothing big Going to the shopping basket & checkout: no problem for us it does seem to be mobile related, so we hope those who are having issues can have it fixed/will see the bugs dissapear

might be that the stock in the store is just emptied & waiting to be refilled. It happens and as it is a holiday weekend, they might not have noticed it
