We are getting a lot of new users who have never attended a Showmasters or Massive events before since Destination Star Trek was announced. They just don't know what happens at a SM event and have no experience with the shows. If money is on the line (as it's here for the tickets) it's only natural for someone to get a little nervous. yes i understand that but that is not the answer to get results! I know that if you want anything done then being nice is a great way to do it. No point in stressing out as that's what made me ill so i tend to keep calm for my healths sake. My comments were directed at a person who was concerned, and I referred them to the fact the matter was being dealt with on another thread - not to anyone else. I've never been to an SM event, I've never spent this much money on an event - I'm usually on the other side of things. This is a special event for me for a number of reasons so please forgive my wanting to get something clarified. It's not moaning, it's asking pertinent questions. i personally do not get why everyone is moaning! a lot of what I have heard is silly! and with people who have just joined too. we all know what happens at a SM event and they are great people! They helped me a lot when I was new to SM/ME cons. so give them some slack! there is no need for the threatening of trading standards. if you do not get what you want in the silver and gold packages then do not buy them and go for standard like me and then build your own package to suit your needs! Stop taking it out on Jason or the SM admin people! The tickets technically do not go on general sale til the 30th April so they did not have to sell them early to us who have the code. They could have made us wait like everyone else! They will have to get it sorted by the 30th april. So those who haven't decided just wait and those who already bought tickets... fools rush in. I never rush into anything until i have read everything... asked every question to a moderator as I like to double check before as I do not have a lot of cash. Keep Calm and Bazinga! Everyone really needs to chillax and think of others who are working hard to give this great event to us! Without them we would not have had this! Peace to everyone

me too. me and my friend cannot afford gold or silver at the moment due to a large very bill when i lost my kitty on easter monday and had to call the vet out (double time) but we are getting standard next weds and then building them up per week after to have what we want. its may be more expensive that way and we have the LFCC as well but we would not miss this for the world.. just to be apart of something like this is amazing!

You're right. Seems insane to me though, I won't be taking a day off work for it. People take days off for cons all the time, usually the weekends too. Some people dont have the luxury of weekends off so they usually have to book off at least one day. And for others these cons are what they do isntead of holidays. I know I dont go out of the country or anything for the summer or anytime. I try to make each con a long weekend when I can and treat them as weekend breaks :) yes the friend I am coming with has to have fri and monday off as he works monday to friday. but to make this con he will have to either book 2 days off or just have 2 days off and not get paid. thats what us con goers do we dont spend money on things like holidays and days out as we could not afford it and go to conventions

will their be lanyards and passes for weekend ticket holders? or just separate tickets as in the LFCC? was just wondering as I have bought a standard weekend ticket and not sure how it would work with getting goodie bags etc on the friday. I have been the ME events and SM events and both events are slightly different to each other so just wondering

Woo Hoo.... same here.... the year i did not attend the LFCC he decided to attend lol I was gutted! I loved him in the ST Movies but not he original series. I also loved him in Boston Legal and Miss Congeniality 1 & 2! He is a very funny man

Interesting post for your first one. And I hope you arent referring to me as you'll see I've been on here for many years and in this case there are reasonable questions to ask, which are being quickly and very well dealt withby the mods as usual, to allow us to determine what is the best value ticket for us. No-one is saying the event won't be great or anything but some of the packages are a lot of money and people like me who are prepared to pay that much if it's right for me are realising that maybe it isn't quite what we thought it was and having already met large numbers of the trek cast I'm just trying to figure out what's best value for me rather than just jump in and spend £300 and find I'm not getting what I initially thought I was. I'm sorry if you have a problem with that but I can't afford to blindly say every event is wonderful and pay large amounts of money without thinking about it a bit. Thanks mods for answering the questions so well. It's really helped. this is why I am getting the standard ticket as I only want a few photoshoots and 2 of which are the captains as I like them for different reasons other than they were in star trek. I dont collect autos as I like to meet and have pics taken so i can look at them and say that was a great day! autos for me arent the same for me as they are for others. I am on meds so I probably wouldnt do the parties as I get tired a lot. but for what I have read.... i totally agree with what you are saying about determining the best value as I was doing that all day today. lol

yeah i need to know photoshoots prices as I only want 2 captains and i also need prices for autos too so i can budget. lol booked my hotel and buying my standard entry tickets on saturday

we are just getting the standard as I dont go to the parties and I am unsure what I want at the moment so i am playing safe and getting the standard first just so I can guarantee a place at the event :-)
