Excellent suggestion! Was thinking the same thing as it happens funnily enough :D would be totally over the moon if any of these amazing people came over, and with Debbie having done a couple of shows over in the USA hope it can happen over here too  :WINCE:

(Keith you're fast lol   :firedevil:  :P )

C3 was fab, C4 stunning, exploded at C5, ate too many dairy milks @ C6...and then, too many BLTs @ C7! Hmm... *sensing a theme here* err, C8 was sminty...C9 flinty...C10 pleenty *um* C11 :-) ...C12  Shanks -y ...C-Cov hotdogs & Ernie... etc (fast forward 8 years of many highlights, SM/ME shows and Autographicas)

Harry Dean Stanton, Ian Holm, Rutger Hauer, LOTR, SG, ST and SW people for any of the shows  (did I leave anyone out?)

Haha *cough* well in the best possible way here of course  :P

Quite a few of the people on that list have done book signings (also in the US), Leslie's doing one over here...the possibilities   :firedevil: Besides the top 3 ladies mentioned on the other thread Kirk Douglas and Robert Wagner are another couple of personal favourites, be amazing if any of them could make it.

As you said, Robert Wagner has a new book out, as has Leslie Caron and Kirk Douglas regularly releases books.  All have done plenty of book signings in the US, so theres no reason why they wouldnt come over to the UK - if they were asked!

Also, on a side note, Jane Russell has done plenty of conventions in the US in the past.

Can I add Roxy, you have great taste!

Thank you :firedevil: I love classic films, therefore have plenty of classic favourites I'd love to meet! My cup totally overflowed I think when we had Ernest Borgnine, George Kennedy, Mickey Rooney and Joan Collins all at the same show last time  :WINCE:

Also I'm sure Jane Russell's been over here a couple of times over the last few years (not sure for what exactly), but yes, with books out etc I don't see why they wouldn't mind a trip over here to promote more if asked very nicely  :P  :D *wish*

Yes, having the four of them together in one room was fab, I agree.  I just hope future shows get hold of guests of similar calibre.

Roxy you seem very connected to SM - do you know of the process/procedure used to get the guests or what they base their choices on?

I have the pleasure of volunteer working at the shows because those crazy people'll have me  :WINCE:   :firedevil: you get an idea of how those things work but no, the process is totally in their capable hands. As for choices, I've always thought it's mainly down to who/what's hot, wanted, relevant and/or available at the time lol (just my thoughts obviously!)

Of that list Kirk Douglas and Peter O'Toole are the standouts for me
Fide et fortitudine

Tickle us, do we not laugh? P**ck us, do we not bleed? Wrong us... shall we not revenge?

If all of your friends are morons is it a felony, a misdemeanor or an act of God if you blow their ******* heads off with a thirty-eight magnum?

Hypothetically, if the only choice you've got is to do the wrong thing, then it's not really the wrong thing, its more like fate.

Yes definitely Peter O'Toole as well, amazing career.

Oh I've just noticed you added Julie Andrews (Keith), now she ranks at the top alongside Liz Taylor for me - albeit in a slightly different way - that would *really* be something!

I'd say if Peter O'Toole was ever to come then getting Omar Sharif along with him would be no bad thing.

Great suggestions - but sorry to have to tell you Peter Cushing died in 1994 aged 81.

DEBBIE REYNOLDS would be an outstanding guest, having done similar shows in the US she seemed to enjoy it from reading feedback columns. Any of the older film stars would be good, not sure if kirk Douglas is able to travel any more because he looked desperately frail on TV last year.
