Showmasters Admin showmasters Posted August 19, 2016 Showmasters Admin Share Posted August 19, 2016 As some of you will be aware, our dear friend Kenny Baker passed away last week. We are all devastated and will miss him so very much. He was a legend to us all. Kenny was 83 years old and loved meeting the fans - all over the world, and did so right up to his last appearance at London Film and Comic Con two weeks ago with us all. He told us that he never wanted to stop attending events as he loved meeting the fans and it made him come alive which was so normal for the showman that he was. This is such a loss to us all. We are going to miss you Kenny, old friend. Any customers who have purchased photo sessions will be refunded shortly.

beejay
As UK FX Supervisor on Empire Strikes Back I had a special R2D2 made for Kenny which was more comfortable than the Star Wars original one. Inside the dome we had to paste the centrefold from the previous ten years Playboy girls. So Kenny could have something to look at while waiting for the next "Action". I shall miss Kenny and his irrepressible sense of fun. His Minitones act was very funny and very 'blue'. RIP Kenny and condolences to his kids.
