James bond con

I agree it would be great and would attend.

However for it to have any real chance of working I fear that it would require guaranteed appearances from some of the Bonds. I would imagine that realistically the only Bond who would be prepared to attend may be George Lazenby, and no disrepect intended (and not wanting to start a 'best Bond' debate!) but generally his Bond is not regarded as being one of the more popular. Certainly not a guaranteed crowd generator like a Connery.

Although I am now wondering if Timothy Dalton could be persuaded....

I think there would be less chance of Dalton than any of the others, I think the lack of public profile is a very deliberate choice on his part.

That said I think a Bond Con would work really well, I'm not even sure the lack of a Moore, Connery, Craig, Brosnan or Dalton (in no particular order) would hinder it that much. After all SM have just run a Harry Potter event with none of the main stars and Star Wars conventions have been going for years without Hamill, Ford or Fisher attending.

I think the good thing about Bond is there are so many of the actors and crew who regularly appear on the signing circuit that getting good guests to come along would be less of a challenge than it would be for others. The addition of a bigger name Bond Girl or Villain could then give an event the extra push for ticket sales.

Plus consider all the additional Bond related activities you could have over a weekend; cocktail parties, talks, photo shoots, signings, talks, laser target shooting, casino nights etc. That could all add up to a very good weekend.
