Help support Collectormania Glasgow!

 

We'll be adding guests over the next few weeks and stepping up our promotional campaign for Collectormania Glasgow around the same time, and we'd like your help to make the event bigger and better. Glasgow is a younger show than most of our other events, and we plan to gradually increase the number and calibre of guests we bring to it; speaking as the Scottish member of Showmasters, it'd be great to bring a guest line-up as varied and heavy-hitting as we do to London or Milton Keynes, but there's no point doing that if we then didn't get the turn out to justify it, lost money, and ended up having to downsize the next one accordingly. I know from personal experience that Scotland is home to a multitude of fans; I also know from experience that it's sometimes hard to get the word out to them to support local events. So I'd like to enlist the help of anyone on this board who feels so inclined.

 

Like I said, we will be promoting this event everywhere we can, but there's always going to be places we don't know about or can't get to. So SJ, another Scottish crew member, who maintains the Massive Events websites for us, has kindly put together a couple of posters, which you can find online in printable form here

Anyone who wants to help us get the word out is welcome to print off as many copies as they like, and then to distribute them wherever they feel would be a good place to get the word out - book shops, comic shops, game shops, student unions, clubs, etc. If you know of a local shop frequented by fans, and can ask the owner to put up a poster, that would be great!

 

Important note - please don't put posters up in shops without the permission of the owners or managers, or put them up anywhere else it would be unwelcome or illegal to do so. That doesn't generate publicity, just ill will.

Handed out 1000 colour flyers in Dundee city centre yesterday dressed in full Vader garb, and got piles of them put by cash registers in HMV, Zavvi and Gamestation. Game refused them, miserable sods.

i put some at one of the local comic fairs and in the local waterstones and things before i went on hols got about 50 left shall put them in the next good place i find after that i dunno when i will get to a printer, although how many people will come from newcastle remaines to be seen as there are no cheep trains left there all 40 each way so its only going to be mugs liek me ho have nowt better to do.
