  1. I can't help but feel that generally the prices at this event seem to be rising. The US v UK space prices. The new £15.00 price for almost everybody. The changes to ticket prices. I almost expect the prices of drinks and hot dogs to have gone up too!
  2. When the original show this year was cancelled, although I was disappointed, I expected that the replacement format to be something a little special. Compacting the best of the two shows into one. I can't help but think that so are we're still missing a certain wow factor. No distrispect to Dave, but the sparkle seems to have gone out of his involvement on the forum too. Before we had quizes, and he enjoyed a joke with us. Excitement too generally seems to be a little lacking.... I know the responce is going to be "yeah, but we've got the second guy on the moon.... and list another bunch of those in appearance!. But still, I thought I'd add my comments anyway.
  3. Maybe we could celebrate such a successful mail-out, with an announcement of a hollywood star, or moonwalker. :)
  4. Dave, I know I've talked about prices a lot, but this has bugged me a little. On another forum, somebody listed the prices at an American show, and they worked out a lot cheaper than the UK prices. I know there is travel costs involved and maybe a few other differing fees, but even factoring this in, if you're selling in the volumes that you will, it seems your margins would still be a lot higher. On another note, can we expect more space guests to be announced in the future for this show?.
  5. prices have been around the £15 mark for most guests for around ten years so cant complain really Bond actors, and many others I thought had consiseantly previously been only £10.00. As somebody said in the "would you pay......" thread, these price rises soon get accepted as the norm, and they'll become £15.00 forevermore. As trying to convince the next 'star' (extra) they're only worth £10.00 could be a bit tricky.
  6. Personally I'd advise you to wait until the on the day prices are announced. It's my understanding the pre-pay figure is £250, yet the above states that the price will be 'well under' that. Maybe you could get somebody here to get one for you?.
  7. This is all getting a bit silly isn't it, if David felt the need to edit the posts he would have. This to me just looks like you've got too much time on your hands, and have an impulsion to get involved. But my main point was I had to look up on IMDB who most of them were! , I'm so ashamed.
  8. You do have a curious way of thinking Mr Count. Anyway, back to more important matters. Does anybody know if the London venue is ok for disabled attendees.. I seem to remember a lot and stairs, levels, and walkways....
  9. There's not one £10 guest. Prices are rising?
  10. I read on post by Jason earlier today, that Autographica 18 is going to be held in London again.... I might have dreamt this, but I thought that previously he said that it was going to go alternate between London and Birmingam?. Birmingham is such a better venue . It would be such shame to cancel all shows there.

I do love this argument on the internet, and would expect more from you Mr Count. 99.9% of all discussion on internet forums are based on opinions, known facts, and assumptions. If we all had to have some involvement in the promotion or organising of the thing that we were discussing there would simply be no discussion.

I have no knowledge of staffing levels at this event, and how close the event was from being cancelled, if a handful (or maybe even one person!) decided not to put thier name forwad due to tiredness. Not all of those at LFCC I'm sure were effected in the same way, and were more than capable of working the following weekend.

I disagree, its your personal responsibility if you are too tired to do your job effectively. One example being, I wouldn't expect a doctor who was working on a nightshift all week to put his name forward to travel, or crew either. I also find it fairly insulting to accuse all unemployed people, as work shy, lacking in personalable skills. Determination, and commitment, are worthy attributes, but worthless to Showmasters if not combined with professionalism.

With respect, maybe if your personal life and travelling demands are that complicated, maybe they should slow down the number of events that they crew. Remember this is an event with paying customers, whilst we all recognise the fact they are volunteers the is still a level of professionalism that should be met, and in my opinion the excuses rasied are a little weak.

This does sound quite a comical event. You'd think because it was so smaller, it would run smoothly. What would have happened if a 'big' guest was there!. Free autographs, the row about the guy having an innocent picture taken with his son, people leaving early, and the no shirts fiasco. If there is a second one, I hope we start getting a little more professional - and stop using the excuse that its because you're all drained from events the week before.
  16. This wasn't what happened last time it went quiet. As it was soon cancelled.
  17. I kinda understand where Prendy is coming from though Isn't this meant to be extra special, and the combination of two shows. It's all a bit quiet.
  18. I hope that they persevere with it a bit longer, regardless of if this event was a success or not. Maybe one suggestion for the future could be combining it with a programme fair. I know Milton Keynes doesn't much of a history (see franchise debate), but through local clubs and those in London and Birmingham, you should have plenty of interest.
  19. Which guest had the 'no posed photographs' sign? Surly it wasn't that busy was it?.
  20. Here's hoping there are more Space guests to come. It's all gone a bit quiet on this part of the forum in recent weeks. A nice new guest would perk us all up again
  21. Wouldn't this suggestion suit one of the other shows better?
  22. Hang on. I was questioning Count about his attendance, not you!. But as football fan to football fan, I'm glad that you're one of the more active supporters. I agree, I don't usually even leave the pub until about 2.55. Quite often making my seat just as the kick off whistle blows, much to the annoyance of the fans around me. Also when I'm travelling the length of the country on a tuesday night, I'm just glad to have made it in time rather than thinking of autorgraphs. Buuuuuut! if I was wishing to do so, and take photographs around with me, then there are plenty of opportunities to do so with siginificant success. Bobby Carlton would be more of a challenge. But I bet it could be done if you were a Manchester United season ticket holder.
  23. No need to justify anything, it was a fairly simple question. Maybe though next time, it would have been easier if you just admitted the first time you didn't go to many games, and that most of your insight comes courtesy of sky sports.
  24. Please forgive me if I jumped to the wrong conclustion, but maybe to set the record straight you could enlighten me to how many games you attended last season?. I assume not living in the city that your team is based does cause even more access problems. Much the same as 95% of Manchester United supporters.
  25. Your views on football sometimes surprise me. I can't help but think your more of an occational fan, rather than one with a season ticket, or one travels each week to away games. As there are plenty of opportunities to meet players and obtain something more than a scribble, with the wrong pen. I suggest you either start actually attending, or becoming more of a part of your club.
