  1. I have approached James, no response as yet. David has been asked in the past and declined. I wrote to him a few weeks ago and not received a response as yet but he is very busy on US TV. We have approached some very big names and it is rare to get a positive response. If you do get a positive response you have to factor in their requests such as first class air fares, which from California are very expensive. Some don't want to fly, some are shy (really!) so there are so many factors. But we do keep trying!
  2. I have received a letter from Jimmy James and he will sign anything from the film The Great Escape. I did invite Lord Attenborough to Autographica but sadly he declined.
  3. Well done prendy9160! The famous Blue Peter gang of three are willing to attend the show. Would anyone else like to meet them?
  4. Michaela Strachan is someone we could get along so if you want to meet her let us know.
  5. I have invited Sir Roger Moore and he unfortunately declined.
  6. Lol, good point nospher2! It just seems so much longer...
  7. I think I am right in saying that some of the men from Stalag Luft III acted as technical advisors on The Great Escape Film. I am writing to Jimmy over the weekend and will ask the question for you. We have tried getting some other men along who were involved in the escape but mainly due to health reasons this has not been possible. If you would like to meet other prisoners from the camp who were not directly involved in the escape we could try that. If you read about Stalag Luft III there were some famous people in there such as actors Peter Butterworth and Roy Dotrice. Working on this recently I finally realised that the Stalag Luft POW Camps were for airmen only. Doh!
  8. Thanks Helmut and Anne for your excellent suggestions! Mike, I am not sure Arnold Schwarzenegger's brief appearance in Rentaghost really counts. We did have some potential guests lined up but as nobody has mentioned their names we will move on.
  9. Hello I have some free time at the moment so I am just helping out a little for this show trying to get some guests along. I have a £3 phone card that gives me 460 minutes worth of calls to the USA so I am using it! It's quite fun but getting people to attend the show is very difficult, so many factors involved. Keep those suggestions coming please!
  10. I am thinking about inviting a few guests who have appeared on children's television in the past. Are there any such guests from your youth (long lost in my case!) that you would like to meet at Autographica? Thanks Richard
  11. Ok, I made the call. Unfortunately Sally is now appearing in a TV show in the US called Brothers and Sisters. Filming for the show takes place for nine months of the year and she is only free May-July. Contact has been made with the representatives of many of the big stars that we want to meet and every effort is being made to get them over.
  12. Because if you recall instead of doing nothing to help the the show I went out to try and get some guests. I think SG is a great guest for the show
  13. Constructive criticism is always welcome but not this continued negatitivity. Some new guest announcements will be made in the next few days. I think most people will be very pleased with who Autographica have lined up but of course there is no pleasing some people.
  14. I have spoken to his agent. When the October show is on he is taking a break from his tour. Unless more US tour dates are added in 2008 he might might be available for the March show.
  15. I think we would all love to meet her. But would you, and at least 200 other people, be prepared to pay £50 for the privilege?
  16. When I asked Mr Indio to write to Michael Caine I was of course kidding but his negativity is unwarranted. I volunteered to try and help out and get guests in for Autographica 10 and it is a very difficult task. To start with the big names are almost impossible to contact directly, if you can get around their agent and speak to their PA it is a major success. Please keep making your guest suggestions here, tell us who you would like to meet, every thread is read. We all want the best show possible and every effort is made to make it just that.
  17. So instead of complaining and moaning why not write to Michael and invite him?
  18. In my opinion the prices charged at Autographica simply reflect market value. Buzz's signature usually sells for around £100, so the price charged at Autographica has to reflect that. The point is that when you attend the show you get to meet Buzz, get whatever photo you want signed with whatever inscription. I must admit it took me awhile to understand why a signature costs more when it is added to a photograph with signature(s) already on it but again that's market value. A little mean to charge extra for adding something like 'Apollo 11' but again, market value. EDIT: Sorry but it is against forum rules to post names of other events and to post links to sites selling items or services that are not affliated with Showmasters.
