  1. It's not too early. I want more astronauts, I want more memorabilia, I want a Saturn V rocket. I want Barbara Bain and Nick Tate too.

  4. I remember you Kinggodzillak, nice to have met you. Thank you for your kind opinion, I value it a lot; after all, I just expanded on your good idea of putting together moonbase, logo and actors in different poses. I had seen on the other forum some of the handwritten letters you got from the actors: really something to cherish.
  5. Unfortunately, I realised that when I came back to Clacton, slightly too late The good thing is that my son didn't know anything about it, otherwise the journey back in the car would have been a very long one. He made us stop at the Ipswich roundabout to get to Toys'r'us, though - after spending so much money on autographs and photos we felt obliged to clean our conscience with a small Lego set. The set? The shuttle with astronauts, of course.
  6. Yes, and I also noticed that the average age was much higher than other Showmasters events! My son was probably the only child (9) around. However, the day was so hectic that we even forgot to claim his surprise.

Please do, I promised her I would forward any onto her Jody xxx This is the picture. @ Jody, this is a low resolution image - I can't manage to post a better one for the moment. I had sent, as instructed by Sylvia Anderson's agent Kate, a high resolution picture to her email address but I didn't get any reply/confirmation if the file arrived. If you are able to contact Sylvia directly, can you please check if she got it in the end? You might copy the picture above if necessary but, as I said, the resolution is not great. There were other Space1999 guests who (certainly Dave Prowse and Prentis Hancock and a few others I can't remember) showed interest in the "personalised" miniposters; I made one for each actor attending but I had only one copy with me. I will try to upload here all the posters in higher resolution so if they are reading this forum (I know some do) they can download them, if they wish.

Go the album with the photos in click on the Edit button at the top right, On the next screen, you'll see a Done button towards the top right. Just to the left of that is where you select who can see the photos. It will probably say Friends. Click on the down pointing arrow next to it and select Public. Then click on Done and the photos should be available for everyone to view. Hope that all makes sense and helps. Thank you for your help dwarfbabe, I can't believe certain features are so cryptic. Anyway, as you can see I have found another way to post my picture. I am going to post some more tomorrow, including the one Sylvia Anderson wanted so badly - too tired now...

Help! I can't post my pictures. I never tried before; I clicked on Image icon and add the url of a picture on facebook but the system tells me that the extension (which is jpeg) is not acceptable. Any suggestion?
  15. I agree that Robert Powell wasn't probably the chattiest guest in the room; I had noticed that queues of 5-6 people vanished in seconds. However, I had a slightly different experience: I asked about the fact that he never blinked in Jesus was his idea or Zeffirelli's and he explained that this is a natural trick for actors but with Jesus was a bit extended. We also commented on the fact that his eyes on the dvd cover had been coloured with extra blue. He has been very kind to pose for a couple of pictures with my wife. I can't complain at all but it is true that some guests need to be triggered and if questions are asked they will answer. Others will want to know your name, where you are from or what job you do etc. and make the conversation more relaxed and memorable. I always have a question prepared to ask so to avoid empty moments. With some Space actors I didn't even have time to ask as they were so prone to chat about everything. It depends on the person's character, I suppose. Probably Robert's comments on your drawing could have been more appreciative of your effort, regardless if that was a masterpiece or not.
  16. "Hoping"? That means they are not sure yet . NNNOOOOOoooooooooo.....
  17. You're more than welcome, Giuseppe. Although it is made easier when there's only one person by that name Michelle A little advantage of living in UK. In Italy, this is one of the most common names...
  18. I was actually looking in the Upcoming Events section for the next Autographica but there is no mention of it. Is it going to happen?
  19. Thank you Dwarfbabe and thank you to all the other volunteers involved. Well done to all of you.
  20. As far as I am concerned I had a great time on Sunday too. All Space1999 guests were very nice and was surprised to see that Alibe Parsons spoke Italian (for me it is always a plus). I got the actors' signatures on a special artwork I made myself (I got envious of kinggodzillak photoshop compositions and I had to do something about it!); nearly all actors congratulated me for my artworks and some asked for a copy! Unfortunately, I had one print only with me, I couldn't imagine they would have been so successful. However, Sylvia Anderson insisted she wanted a copy and asked her agents to share contact details because she would like to display it in her office! Now, that made my day (or year, possibly). Special hello to the guy from Singapore whom I met at Alibe's desk. Second special hello to the ubiquitous Michelle who remembered my name. Third special hello to the lady in charge of Suzanne and Anton on Saturday and Sarah and John on Sunday. Giuseppe.
  21. mmm... that's an interesting concept and interpretation of the word "completion", sorry to hear about your "financial" misadventure, topmiler - that was honestly unexpected and the reason given was really odd, to say the least. I did meet Aldrin this morning and got one signature but I have to admit I gave to it a lot of thought; in the end I decided to get it but I had to give up EMS and STAR TREK LONDON. In the end, it was my decision and I am glad I took it as I am sure you did but when you find certain surprises it is really annoying. Did you decide to get Aldrin's signature in the end? The rest of the convention was perfect. I met all the Space1999 guests plus Duke and Corinne Clery and we chatted for a while in Italian (a language sported by Martin Landau as well). Excellent day, look forward to tomorrow.
  22. I know it's a bit early and when I am writing this message you are still eating and having fun but please let us know your impressions as soon as you can. How are the guests and the atmosphere? Any picture?
  23. As far as I know there is no dressing code but, if you are in doubt, wear a Season 1 Alpha Moonbase uniform and you will be fine. By the way, I am wearing a Space 1999 black t-shirt with a white eagle and go around with wife and 1 kid; if you spot us, say hello.
  24. Yes, it had been announced somewhere. A voucher for any £10 guest would have probably offered the freedom of a wider choice (just in case one is not interested in Rusty) but that's ok by me.
  25. Any news or confirmation? Is there going to be a discount for attenders?
