  1. You want to get Lee Evans IN Rowan Atkinson? Isn't this meant to be a familly show?
  2. Can I say any actor from Vancouver? Seriously, I've found that the actors from shows that film there (Stargate, Andromeda, Jeremiah) tend to be generally less 'stary' and easier to get chatting too. I really can't choose just one... Jr Bourne (Martouf), absolutely lovely guy, does a lot for charity too (sells dates with himself for charity, one of which I've been on *g*) Gives wonderful hugs. Peter Williams (Apothis, and Anne MacCaffrey's choice for F'lar apparently *g*) Has a great memory for his fans, on my second meeting he remembered both my online and offline names. Very honest too, which I respect. Good hugger! Amanda Tapping: Very funny. Has been known to burst into tears at conventions because the fans are being nice to her. Colin Cunningham: a real character, well and truly up for a laugh. Recently he not only took members of his fan club out to dinner but back to his appartment too. Actually their are loads more I could name... but I'd be here writing for hours!
  3. Returning guests? I spoke to Corin Nemec at Stargate convention recently, and he seems to think he's doing Collectormania next year. Of course, these things do change, so I wouldn't take that as definite until it's officially announced...
  4. I'm betting Corin Nemec will be there or at no 6. I could be cheating since I just spoke to Corin at Stargate convention. *g* These things do change anyway... And lol to the Jeri Ryan comment. So true!
  5. I had a great time. I'd heard Carrie signs really fast and doesn't talk, so that she was in a chatty mood was a big bonus! It meant we had to wait longer, but worth it! Darth: it's a shame you missed out on spending time in the dealers room. They generally let people go in after their ticket is called... I had ticket 14, but I was near the end of the queue outside and got in to the dealers room just as they started calling folks in to see Carrie. But I stayed, saw the dealers rooms and Kenny and Warwick. Had a nice chat with Warwick too (really nice guy). Then went up with some 200 plus's. Sorry you didn't realise you could do that. No photos and no autographs was Carrie's choice. Like I say, apparently she usually signs a lot faster. As to whether she was drugged, I didn't notice, and I've known a few people with drug problems. I've got a feeling if there was anything it would be prescribed. I'm glad to see so many people from here made it!
  6. There's a load of old interviews and articles on her official site. I think it was in one of those, but I couldn't tell you which! Sorry.
  7. Few factlets for you... She did star in The Void. Not a great film, but some well-respected actors in that. In the first season I heard she was asked to read for a Bruce Willis film, but she turned it down as she was commited to Stargate. Last year she won the Leo award for best actress. The Leo's are the Canadian industry awards. They are significant as Canada has a large film and TV industry and they are not SF awards. It's extremely significant when an actress in an SF show wins when she's competing with actresses in none SF/Fantasy shows. (Think of the Emmies... SF shows ONLY win technical/SFX type awards...) She's also one of the funiest people you could meet. And due to appear at a convention which probably means she can't appear at the next collectormania... but maybe another time.
  8. Let's see... I think we can rule out any of the Stargate main cast (I think they are all under exclusivity contracts, except for Corin who's just been and Rick who doesn't do conventions). Jeri Ryan has had major stalker problems (so maybe she'd be wary about doing a show like this), plus she charges a huge fee, so I doubt it. Same for David whatsit from Buffy. OK, I should stop being depressing! I'd love anyone from Dead Zone. Also Stargate Actors: I think JR Bourne and Peter Williams might be under exclusivity contracts as well (slaps self... ), but if they are not they are amazing guests! (Peter remembered both my internet handle and my given name the second time I met him, and Jr has been known to do mad things like posting his hotel number so fans can phone him for a chat...) Actually I've found generally the actors from Vancouver are really cool! So add Andromeda and Jeremiah too...
  9. You are all wrong and right. Fact is, everybody has their own ideas of who is 'famous'. I'm with Bruce on thinking 'who the hell is...' (insert name of LOTR/Matrix star). I'm not that interested in those films, and won't go out of my way to see folks from them. I'd rather see some of the 'enduring classics' like Honor Blackman. On the other hand... Starsky and Hutch was what, 20-30 years ago? Some of the people on this forum weren't even born then! We can't expect them to be too impressed or interested! What really matters is that as many people as possible get to meet someone they can go all red and toungue-tied about. I've currently go the two week trial of imdbPro. It includes something rather nifty called the 'starmeter', which ranks everyone on the database according to how many hits they get a month. 1 is highest. Also worth mentioning: this is very variable (one of my current favorite actors, Jr Bourne, has varied month by month between a ranking of 2 thousand and 22 thousand!). What it shows is current, right now this minute interest. Thought you might all like to see the current rankings for folks involved in this debate... So, in reverse order.... Antonio Fargas 5309 Doug Bradley 3776 David Soul 3293 Roxann Dawson 2929 Billy Dee Williams 2425 Honor Blackman 2420 Paul Micheal Glaser 2105 Larry Hagman 2022 David HasselHoff 1371 Andy Serkis 1327 Anthony Head 1199 Dominic Monaghen 727 Lou Ferrigno 131 Kristinna Lokken 2 These are ALL good rankings. If some of the 'older' names can maintain rankings like that, when they haven't done anything in years, then that shows really strong continuing interest. On the other hand, I was pretty stunned myself by Kristinna's rating. (And remember, this rating includes the like of Harrison Ford, current rank 70...) Whether she'll still be in the top 100 next month or the top 10,000 in a year, who knows? But right now Showmasters have scored a major coup having her on the list!
