Well obviously I wouldn't set up in any walkways or anywhere that would cause an obstruction. That just seems like common sense to me anyway. Nah, definitely not setting up a photo booth. Even If I wanted to, there's no way I could afford the kind of equipment I would need for that Nor could I really be bothered to carry it around. It's just a basic lightweight flash stand and standard flash gun, not remotely big or bulky and no big umbrella thingies or attachments or anything like that.

Hi, I'm attending Collectormania both days and am hoping to take photos of the cosplayers around the event. I was wondering what the rules are regarding photography equipment? I usually use a flash stand with standard size flash gun when I'm doing photos (I of course only set it up in an area where I will not cause an obstruction or hazard) and was wondering if I would be allowed to bring this along with me? I have looked at the website but have been unable to find any guidelines in this area. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can confirm that this date is definite, i.e. the event won't be cancelled or rescheduled, etc. as has happened with other events recently? The reason I'm asking is that the only way I can afford accomodation is by paying a non refundable upfront rate and I don't want to pay then find that the event is moved. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is down to the venue not event organisers. I didn't attend this event (thankfully as I have Asperger's Syndrome and major crowd anxieties and would never have coped) but I am pretty sure that if an emergency situation were to arise and people died as a result, both the venue operators and the event organisers would be held accountable. That would mean facing charges of manslaughter. Saying that the fire exits being chained up is down to the venue and the organisers simply wouldn't hold up from a legal standpoint. It is the responsibility of both parties to ensure that everyone is safe and, in this situation, both parties are undoubtedly cupable for the debacle that arose. Both Showmasters and the management at Earl's Court should consider themselves lucky that no one did get seriously hurt as a result of this and ensure that necessary measures - namely ensuring all fire exits are NOT chained up, thus allowing people to escape in an emergency, and also limiting the number of people allowed in period - are put into place for future events. Otherwise, it is very likely only a matter of time until someone does get hurt and, at that point, all the excuses they can conjure up will not protect them from the consequences of their actions (or should that be inaction).

Hi WickedQueen, No worries about the delay in replying. I know well what it's like to be completely swamped and fall behind on stuff. I always seem to have more stuff to do than time to do it. I don't think I did get any photos of you in your other costumes unfortunately. As for the Leia photos, how would you like me to send copies to you? I'm not sure if there's any way to send them on here (if anyone does know a way though please let me know) and the full resolution photos are pretty big files anyway. With other people I've either sent photos via email or over Facebook (not 100% certain if they do actually get the full resolution images with Facebook though). Anyway, just let me know how you would like me to send them and I'll send them right to you. Nice to meet you too by the way :)
