  4. Go for it! Although, you could do that on the way back and instigate a little kidnapping... Well, I have got the Monday off work! *waggles eyebrows*
  5. Having seen it done on a bouncy castle by 2 metallers, I don't think there is anything that can top it! And it takes me back to uni *cough*early 30's (and aren't they the best times ever) *cough*
  6. I'm almost tempted to turn up for the random hugs option! And the ability to wave you all off whilst dabbing at my eye with a hankie! *sob*
  7. Hurumph! I love a bit of Glam rock me! And you can't tell me that C C Deville on the cover of the 'Look What the Cat Dragged In' album is not one of the prettiest men EVER!!! Shame he didn't age well *sigh* Actually Poison - Talk Dirty to Me, Look What the Cat Dragged In and Unskinny Bop would also be awesome!
  8. I know what you mean, I dread adding up how much I've spent on 'going out' outfits over the years *shudders*
  9. I can't believe I forgot Madonna! Lucky Star Holiday La Isla Bonita Like a Prayer
  10. Oooh, I love 'Walking in My Shoes' *whispers* I loathe The Neph tho, far too dirgey (I'm aware this loses me goth points )
  11. Of course I will :) You make an awesome Fairy Gothmother! I would have been a Wicked Queen (in every sense of the word) Still wish I was going, but really can't afford it *pouts*
  12. Personally I prefer *fists* Barrowman! It's faaar more amusing *passes Never the Bodycult* And despite being 13 when the 80s ended, I only really fell in love with the music later. Being of the Gothic persuation means that you get a lot of 80s played, and it was an AWESOME decade for music. New Romantics, early dance and house music, Glam Rock. Ally - I was hoping that Enjoy the Silence might have sneaked in in 89, and it is the best thing that the Mode ever did. Oh and I forgot The Smiths, How Soon is Now is fabulous! As is This Charming Man! And hey, at least I didn't mention Bros!!!!
  13. Firstly, I just want to say that both Rob and Ally have FANTASTIC taste in music, I salivate at your choices (especially Master and Servant, all the Soft Cell, and Living on the Ceiling) Here are my fave 80s dancey songs, so even tho I won't be there, you can hear them and think of me! Billy Idol - Dancing with Myself Billy Idol - Hot in the City Billy Idol - Rebel Yell Whitesnake - Here I Go Again Whitesnake - Is This Love Adam Ant - Goody Two Shoes (my theme song) Adam and The Ants - Stand and Deliver Soft Cell - Sex Dwarf (all the others have been mentioned) Soft Cell - Torch (except for that) Human League - Sound of the Crowd Joy Division - Love will Tear Us Apart Siouxsie and the Banshees - Fireworks Siouxsie and the Banshees - Dazzle Kim Wild - Kids in America S Express - Theme from S Express The Vapours - Turning Japanese The Normal - Warm Leatherette Madness - One Step Beyond (this bypasses the brain and goes straight to your feet) The Specials - Enjoy Yourself ('Hello I'm Terry and I'm going to enjoy myself first') Queen - Headlong Queen - I want to break free Queen - A kind of magic Queen - One Vision Bomb Da Bass - Beat This The Mission - Tower of Strength Poison - Look what the cat dragged in Poison - Talk Dirty to me Motley Crue - Girls, Girls, Girls Skid Row - Youth Gone Wild Def Lepard - Pour some Sugar on me Def Lepard - Animal Warrant - Cherry Pie Guns N Roses - Welcome to the Jungle Wham - I'm Your Man Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence PIL - Rise Sisters of Mercy - First and Last and Always Steven 'Tin Tin' Duffy - Kiss Me Yazoo - Don't Go The Proclaimers - I'm Gonna Be (500 miles) Duran Duran - Girls on Film Duran Duran - Planet Earth Grace Jones - Slave to the Rhythm Kraftwerk - The Model Tubeway Army - Are 'Friends' Electric Spandau Ballet - To Cut a Long Story Short Pogues - Irish Rover Toy Dolls - Nellie the Elephant The last two can get a little frenetic and a smidge violent, especially Nellie, as anyone at the 80s night at Whitby will testify!
  14. At least you never saw my ex dressed as him, less Goblin King, more Bloblin King! Now that was a wrong thing!
  15. PHWOARGHH!!! I was wondering who would succumb first!
  16. For Twisted Fairytales, you could always go with Jareth, the Goblin King from Labyrinth!
  17. Now I have the Benny Hill theme running through my head!
  18. He's a good friend of mine - I take him with me where-ever I go!! He was the centre of a cracking party recently. He and the boyfriend are intimately aquainted!
  19. I think my hair is abnormal, because I can crimp it after washing (when it's dry) and it stays for days. Obviously it loves the crimp! Damn hair! Won't hold a curl, but will crimp forever!
  20. Whilst it would be super-fabby to have Gareth there, it would be getting very close to his wedding (unless he wanted to escape the headache of wedding planning for the headache of con ) Personally I would love love love there to be James (because he's super-yummy-delish, in the 'like Hugh Jackman' kindaway), and the ladies who played Alice and Emily and Owen Teale (cos I could pretend to be 16 again), and some of the writers *cough*James Goss*cough* But really, the thing that makes me want to go are the cool and rather fabulous people that I met at 3, none of whom were guests, but without which it would have been a very dull experience *squishes you all*
  21. I love crimping my hair! I sort of stopped when it was long, cos 1 hour sat with your hair in 3 bunches whilst you bemoan the lack of a 3rd arm was not fun. I ought to give it a go now it's short. Personal top tips - Hold the crimpers on to each section for about 10 seconds (ignore 'That's burning my scalp/ear' it's only 10 seconds, and it'll be worth it) - Do small sections, takes longer, but you get much bigger hair Personally I don't bother with back-combing or hairspray, I just comb out once I've gone over the whole thing and poof! Big Hair!
  22. what about stand and deliver? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1j7bOVEew0 Ooooooooooooh The Dandy Highwayman *droooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooools* and people wonder why I'm a goth!!!! Please! The bit when he's topless in front of the mirror *swoons* And I've met him, and he was utterly LOVELY!!!! *ahem* @Never - *dons historical and important figures in music and media hat* Siouxsie Sioux was one of the original Bromley Contingent along woth Billy Idol, Steve Severin and Berlin. They were disaffected kids from Bromley and surrounding areas who were obsessed with David Bowie and then later became the hard-core initial fans of The Sex Pistols (most important UK punk band ever, whether they were the best is open to debate). They were the kids standing at the back of the Pistols on the Bill Grundy interview, Siouxsie is the blonde with the black star over one eye, who is offered a more 'personal' meeting by Grundy, which caused Steve Jones to go into the now infamous tirade of f-words. Siouxsie herself formed a band at very short notice for The Screen on The Green, featuring Sid Vicious on drums (later 'bassist' with the Pistols), Steve Severin and Marco Peroni (who became Adam Ant's right hand man). That was the start of Siouxsie and the Banshees. The early stuff is punk, and then when Goth began to happen, Siouxsie's look was copied by thousands of goth girls and boys up and down the country. Their music will fill any alternative/goth dancefloor, however Siouxsie has always stated that she is not a goth The woman is a goddess, an icon, an inspiration and an idol. She is utterly amazing, and if I looked like her, I could die happy! She is utterly awesome, her music is fantastic (I recomend Playground Twist, City in Dust, Swimming Horses, Dazzle) Hong Kong Garden and Dear Prudence are probably the Banshees biggest songs, and the ones you are most likely to hear. Oh and Peek-a-boo. Hope that helps *takes hat off* That was a potted history btw, I know faaaaaar too much about 70's Punk, and Goth, and New Wave
  23. I am faaaaaaar too late, but I would pick Iron Man, then Dark Knight! But not Wolverine, the plot fairy did not visit that particular movie sadly!
