  1. The boys from Enterprise! Scott, Connor, Dominic and Anthony... great fun and so appreciative of the fans. Such a pleasure.
  2. Lol - love the alternative show title... the photograph set up really was superb, wasn't it?
  3. I would disagree - I was extremely pleased with the quality. He didn't hang about, which meant I didn't end up in that fixed, slightly manic expression I seem to end up wearing, and he checked each one. I usually hate me in the photos, but I actually like these ones!
  4. I have mixed feelings about this event and will try to provide my impressions, both positive and negative. Overall, I had a great day but that was mostly down to the guests and the company, not the organisation... My overwhelming impressions: I felt that perhaps DSTL had turned out to be more successful in attracting attendees than the organisers had anticipated, which then impacted on some of the areas of delivery, particularly around stage B The event, especially within the hall, seemed woefully understaffed The crew (were the people in blue shirts volunteers?) had not received enough information to do their job effectively (again, this was mostly to do with stage B and the way the free talks were handled). The good All the staff I interacted with at the event were fantastic. Well done to them all for staying so polite and helpful in what were sometimes challenging circumstances. I have to say I didn't have a cross or rude word from anyone. The autograph and photograph queue organisation was excellent. Instant photographs - brilliant. and last, but by no means least... The guests - awesome line-up. And now on to... The bad Oh dear, well, I think other posters have covered it - most of the bad for me was around the way Stage B was handled - chaotic queueing, not clearing the hall between talks and bizarre ticketing arrangements. Queueing generally (for everything!) - I mean, I know most of us there were British, but hey, let's not reinforce the stereotype! Not spelling the guests names right. Not getting a guest's name right. People having to push wheelchairs up and down and up and down in a queue. My suggestions... Free talks are great, but in an event this size, you really need to ticket in advance. People were in the hall queueing for entry on Saturday morning. You could have had people walking up those lines handing out relevant free ticket talks to those who wanted them. You wouldn't have got through all the queue, but it would have eased the burden once the hall opened, and people who had already queued for some time would not have immediately had to join another queue. Access for people with disabilities. Really - there is so much advice etc out there and you need to do this better. I recently worked on a project where we involved disabled people and representatives from disability groups. Ask people what they need - and then provide it. I went looking on the website for access information and didn't find it. First thing - put a link to such information (wherever it may be) on your home page. Make sure your team have all the information/training they need to do their job. Proof read everything - and then get two other people to proof read it, too (especially names and dates). And finally This was an absolutely huge event and it would have been amazing had everything gone exactly to plan. Most of what I have mentioned could have been avoided, though, and I'm surprised that with Showmasters' experience, it wasn't. I have to finish by saying thanks for bringing such an event to London. tl:dr Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance!
  5. As always, Connor was friendly, approachable and had time for everybody. Loved it when I got to his table and there was a hand-written note saying "Yes - you can have a photo!" Great guy!
  6. That's great news, Monkeyking - have a fantastic weekend! Sal
  7. and Dominic Keating ... and any chance they might do a photoshoot together?
  8. First off - be honest with your employers. Tell them you had planned to go to this event and is there any way you could get some time off - even one of the days. Is there a particular shift/time (apart from the time you want off!) that they find difficult to get staff to cover - how about offering to do that for them? If it's a no go, then suck it up and go to work. Like a previous poster said, there will be other events and your job is much more important in the long run. And congratulations, too - hope you enjoy the new job!

    Event ideas

I like the commentary idea - you could do it with one episode from each series - and how about Connor Trinneer and Dominic Keating doing that for Shuttlepod One!? And yes - I'd like to see them as guests! Sal
  11. Hi there - your friends here say hello!!! You might find it useful to remember - in the UK in buildings we start on the ground floor, then go up to the first floor. Looking forward to a UK another show - especially when graced with your presence, of course Sal x
