  1. Terrible news that he has passed away aged 76. Truly an icon. Someone who most of us on here would have grown up watching his great work. And in the same weekend that Robert Englund was a guest at the Showmasters Bournemouth event.
  2. It's a tribute to how alive he always was that even at the age of 83 we're all shocked and saddened to hear this terrible news. I was lucky enough to meet him a few times over the years, the last time at MK in 2009. I think we were all hoping that for the 50th anniversary next year he'd be tempted back to a show here in the UK and one in the US, all the surviving main crew together. Every time I met him I found him to be a truly humble and genuinely nice person to meet. The talks I saw him give were always fascinating - giving real glimpses of his intellect and his humour. It was easy to see why he had such a long career - who wouldn't want to work with such a man. I know we'll all miss him - but I also know that his work really will live on forever.
  3. I'd like to see any of the cast of Atlantis a Bionic reunion - Lee Majors, Richard Anderson, Lindsay Wagner, Alan Oppenheimer, Martin E Brooks, Jennifer Darling a 1960s Batman reunion - Adam West, Burt Ward, Yvonne Craig, Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether Clockwork Orange reunion - I met Malcolm McDowell and Michael Tarn from ACO at Collectormania in Manchester in November 2007 so it would be good to have another ACO reunion at this show, especially considering Anthony Burgess's connections with Manchester. That would probably get some coverage in the local Manchester media. As well as having Malcolm and Michael back I'd also like to see Adrienne Corri, James Marcus and Steven Berkoff. I'm sure there's a good chance that Dave Prowse will be at the show too. If we had Malcolm, Michael and James we'd have all the living Droogs from the film and that would be a great group photo shoot. sports guests - Denis Law, Brian Kidd, Wilf McGuinness, Tommy Docherty, reunion of the Man Utd European Cup winning team of 1968, reunion of the Man Utd FA Cup winning team of 1977 (with a group photo shoot for any team reunions).
  4. Denis Law and Caroline Blakiston were the main reasons I went today and both were great. Took time with everyone. Very genuine and caring. Hope we see both of them back at other shows soon as I'd like to get some other items signed. Enjoyed the show over both days - better than I thought it was going to be.
  5. Excellent guest. Missed her at previous events so I'll definitely meet her this time.
  6. I'd definitely like this to happen too. Surprising it hasn't been done before. This show would be the perfect opportunity to make it happen, and I think it would be really popular.
  7. Absolutely great announcement. Any classic comedy guests are always amongst my favourites to meet.
  8. Carol was the highlight of the day for me too. A really wonderful person to meet. One of the best guests that I've ever met. I'd like to see her become more of a regular at SM shows, not just Autographica but some of the others too like CM. I'm sure she'd be popular at any event.
  9. I'd like to see as many Doctor Who's as possible. I was at Milton Keynes in 2012 when we had Five Doctors - Sylvester McCoy, Tom Baker, Paul McGann, Colin Baker and Peter Davison - and all doing a group photoshoot for the first and I think only time so far at a SM show. I'd love to see that repeated. It would bring a lot of attention to the Sheffield show, and many fans would come for that.
  10. Great announcement. And as was said in the Arsenal team reunion thread http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=86229 surely this time we should have a team photoshoot with all the team reunions from now on, at this show and future shows. This really is something that football fans who attend would like to see happen. It would make a few dreams come true to have such a special photo.
  11. 100 percent agree with this. I've been saying for a few years now that we really should get a photoshoot option for these historic team reunions. Afterall, it is a big deal for football fans to meet truly classic legendary teams, and so much better to have a proper team photo with them all, rather than just individual shots over the desk. Just seems a real opportunity missed for us and the organisers when it doesn't happen. Earlier this year we were finally going to get one with the Rangers team reunion of 1972 - price was the same as the cheaper all on one item autograph price - in Rangers case it was going to be £80 for the 11 players attending. Sadly though that reunion was cancelled, I assumed because of the great Sandy Jardine's passing. But it shows they were finally going to add team photoshoots, so I was hoping that would be the case with all team reunions from now on. I'm sure lots of people would have a photoshoot - obviously fans of that team, but even people who aren't fans of the team would be interested as certain teams are classic line ups that we all remember, and are part of our years growing up. Really hope they add a team photoshoot for the Arsenal reunion and the Leeds one too as I'd like to do both of them far more than getting the autographs, and I hope they do photoshoots for all future team reunions too. by the way, very good to see Pat Rice and Bob Wilson back again after their health problems. Thanks for making these team reunions happen for fans like me who grew up watching 70s football.
  12. Thrilled to have another chance to meet Denis. Always such a great legend to meet. Surely a legend of his stature should have a photoshoot as well. Hope we get one added. And I'd like to see some more United legends added on the same day Sunday too. It's been awhile since I've seen Alex Stepney at an event for example. Any of the 1968 legends, or the 1977 Cup winning team are always popular too. Thanks so much for getting Denis to attend.
  13. this is something I would very much like to see happen. I grew up watching the bionic shows in the 70s and I'm sure lots of other Autographica collectors did the same. I was lucky enough to meet Lindsay Wagner at a previous Autographica, and to meet Richard Anderson at a non SM event in London, but I've never met Lee Majors. I can't ever remember him being a guest at a signing event in the UK, although I think he was supposed to be a guest at a SM show in Manchester a few years ago but he had to cancel. I've been hoping for them to get him back ever since then but I don't think they have yet. It would be perfect if we could have Lee, Lindsay and Richard all together at a show, with a group photo shoot. Alan Oppenheimer and Martin E. Brooks, who both played Dr. Rudy Wells, could also be added to a reunion. And so could Kenneth Johnson, the producer who created the character of Jaime Sommers and the Bionic Woman series (and created V), and Harve Bennett, who executive produced a lot of the episodes from both series (and worked on some of the Star Trek films).
  14. I was lucky enough to meet him twice at Autographica shows and see him do a talk. Really great to meet, and very sad to hear this news. It's very true that without Autographica I'd never have had the chance to meet him. That's what keeps me coming back - to meet the true heroes of space and film and tv history.
  15. Very happy to have another Clockwork Orange guest attending.
