  1. As an amateur photographer myself I expected this to be the case when it was advertised that the LFCC would have a "Professional Photographer" Studio Lighting should really be used in all photo sessions and if you check with the right photographers they will already have the kit themselves and wont charge extra because they use it. Hell I'd do the photoshoot's for free just because It meant I get to spend time with the actors. As a photographer I have pride in my own imagery and would want to use whatever is the best to get the best shots for people who are paying £20 or more for a photo. Mobile studios are cheap enough these days and would make for much better photos. Studio lighting is also better for the guests as it stops them having to look at super bright flashes every 10 seconds However I don't expect there to be a better studio as people are paying for the current style of photos so why make them better? (for the fans, I know. but i dont think SM would go to the effort of even checking for better photography conditions unless they thought they could get more money) Please check SM you will find someone out there who is equally skilled as the guy at LFCC with better equipment for the same or lesser cost. I really want more photos but I hope we can get a more unique service at this con. Some photographers will cover events for free just to build up their portfolio. At London Film and Comicon Last year, for the Elijah photo shoot, studio lights were used. All the photographs looked great, because the lighting was far softer. I was surprised to see on camera flash at this year's Comicon, it isn't what I would call a professional set up. Mind you the teeny tiny area used for the studio this year didn't have enough space for studio lights. The size of the venue was massive, beats me why they used such a tiny studio set up.
  2. I just booked today at The Park Inn. Friday and Saturday night. No standard rooms left just Executive - £10 more. I wasn't asked if I wanted smoking or non smoking.
  3. I'm a photographer and I am hoping that on camera flash will not be used, and studio lights used instead. On camera flash is very harsh, and unflattering.
  4. Woot! Just booked my sister and I in. Gold passes, too! Bring it on!
  5. Wow, that is a whole 1 minute and 58 seconds more time that I had for my photo op. Lucky you!
  6. ? I'm guessing the images will be thumbnails. Have you any idea of the size of these images? Any server would curl up and die with that many images hosted at full size.
  7. I agree with you, but the area used for the photo ops was incredibly small. Amazing really when you saw the size of the hall. On camera flash, is direct and very harsh, and it showed in all the photos. If studio lights had been used (as they were for the Elijah photo shoot last year) then the end result would have been much softer, and resulted in better photographs. But because the area allocated was so small, there was not really enough room to set up studio lights.
  8. Well my photo op was about 2 seconds, I can barely recall it. I'm a photographer ,I know how long it takes to check for non blinkers, especially three of them. You will have to enlarge the image on the back of the camera to check. No way was this done, not in the time allocated. IMO
  9. I've attended several photo ops over the past couple of years, and it has been the same photographer and he has always checked the images. But the Milo/Adrian shoot was completely insane. I felt sorry for the photographer. I just hope and pray all three of us managed to not blink during the one and only exposure"!
  10. Unfortunatley when I entered for my brief 2 second photo op, I was barked at to keep my hands by my side, click, then herded out.
  11. I have a question. As I was rushed through, as so many others towards the end of the line, the photogrpaher did not have time to check the image. If any of us have closed eyes do we get a refund? During the Dominic Monagahan photo op and others I have attend during other conventions the photographer always checked to make sure eyes were open, and if not he took another shot. I'm afraid the total of two seconds I was in the photo area did not allow for any checking.
  12. Feda, you may have to email showmasters a pic of you to help them identify your photo.
  13. I saw the old dates on the leaflet, too.
  14. I saw your pic Feda, if I had known you had already returned I would have picked it up for you.
  15. His name is Malcom, and he is top dog!
  16. I was at Comicon until the end, waiting for the photos, and posters went up saying they would not be ready for collection but would be posted on the website for identification, within the next few days.
  17. I was lucky enough to at the front of the Dominic line when Patrick entered his auto area, so I managed to see him, which was great for me. I felt sorry for those who had made special journeys to see Patrick only to find out he was there for only 3 hours, I would have been gutted.
  18. Overall, my experience for Sunday was fantastic, but my experience of the photoshop with Milo and Adrian was dreadful. Queued up for 20 minutes to hand bag in, and then queued up for one hour for the photo. £30 for about 2 seconds... I was gutted. The photographer told me to keep my hands by my side as I was rushed in, I didn't even get to look at Adrian, and Milo didn't look too happy. Then I was out! £30 for 2 seconds! I opted for the photo shoot instead of the autos, and was let down. God only knows what the photo will look like. The photoshoot was obviously oversold, making it an awful experience for the last half of the guests rushed through. I bought my ticket at 10am, they should have stopped selling them when they reached a certain number. It wasn't fair on the lads, it was a nightmare for photographer, and it ended up being a miserable experience for a good majority of the paying guests.
  19. Yes it was a short talk, and the microphone in the middle blocked the view for the majority of the guests. Why they couldn't have had the microphone at the side beats me.
  20. I've had a look at FAQ, and I've looked at the website, but can seem to find a map of the hall, and where everyone will be situated. Is there one? If not, is it possible to be told exactly where the talk tickets will be issued from? Thanks Swan
  21. It will be very interesting to see if Dom is confirmed for Ring Con, after Comicon.
  22. When tickets for this concert came online to buy today, I stopped and thought, oh, that is Ring Con weekend. Then I thought about the non existant announcements and just went for the alternative. I guess I still have the Saturday for Ring Con, but to be honest, my excitment and support for this event has evaporated. Swan
  23. Well today something came up - which meant booking it for 25 November, and because nothing has been forthcoming from Showmasters I have booked to go to this particular concert instead of attending Ring Con. It may not only be me Showmasters... I think you may have lost many potential attendees because of the huge delay. I did book my Ring Con ticket back in April, but now something else has come up which sounds a lot better than Ring Con. I wonder if you will make me change my mind? Swan
  24. Well as November is more or less two months away, I wouldn't call it several months.
