  1. Still a legend in my books, I was very pleased at the quality of my photos, don't forget the lighting in the venue was a bit pants, it may have affected things. And it's not like we were having portfolio shots taken! Yes I do agree, what a great job he did getting through everyone.
  2. You had a good experience too cookie? Wasn't it amazing that he was just a thoroughly decent person, being friendly and chatting despite the workload :)
  3. Yes indeed, thank you all for everything, Showmasters, you shower of legends! had a really enjoyable time and will be back :)
  4. He was really amazing! It felt strangely like meeting johnny depp haha
  5. I don't quite know where to post this but I need to say a massive thankyou to the photographer who was taking the photos of Dom. My friend and I went to have our photo taken with dom on the saturday, and we wanted it done with both of us in shot. There was a bit of confusion and when we went to pick up our photos, there was only one print. Out of the kindness of his heart the photographer arranged for us to come back the next day and have our photos taken again, which were infinitely better photos as we had the confidence to ask dom to do some silly facial expressions with us. So a massive thankyou once again, we really wanted to find the gent later and buy him a drink or something but we were in a rush to get home. If anybody knows the legend himself, please pass our gratitude on! Thanks loads! Jo (on the right) and Helen (on the left)
  6. apologies for the quality but these are photos of photos, i haven't scanned them yet. One is meant to be us all looking confused, and the others are us looking ecstatic... you can tell who the actor in the bunch is, haha :)
  7. Oh dear I feel bad for people who didnt have a good time with dom, but I suppose it was a long day for him to be constantly switched on and engaged with people. I had a really great time meeting him, he was smiley and seemed happy, and when my friend and I went up to get our photo with him he joked it was a 'dom sandwich'! When I asked if we could do one photo looking confused and the next photo looking ecstatic, he was well up for it and we have some quite funny photos to show for it!
  8. haha u genius with the cheese talk :) love it
  9. Did everyone get 'pythonic greetings' from Terry Jones? He was lovely and smily :)
  10. So stargate SG1 people are filming their film nowish, and we can't get the Shanks-- Well here's hoping we get the fab Atlantians! david hewlett, joe flanigan, paul mcgillion to name but a few :) I mean, there's still time right?
  11. I wasn't manhandled, but I too had my photo sort of snatched away and placed in front of Tony. I didn't find that a real problem. However, nobody in the world has the right to shove you. It's dangerous for a start, and if someone on here was seriously saying, with no exaggeration, that they were roughly handled I am wondering why they didn't take the name of the crew member and go and make sure they spoke to a supervisor and sorted it out on the day? I can understand WANTING to be rude and pushy with the general public- in my last job I worked on a till in a huge bookshop and sometimes the slow-moving, irritating customers made me want to scream, especially at busy times. But actually BEING rude to them never even entered my head, as it really is bad customer service and was absolutely against the rules. My only explanation for rudeness is that the crew are basically a buffer zone for the celebrity- if the celebrity is asked to do something, perhaps the crew member has to consider that the celeb might feel forced into saying yes and not appearing rude to a fan, and its the crew member's job to be the bad guy for the celeb's comfort, and doesn't necessarily mean they are drunk with authority? Anyway, enough devil's advocate- that's my wee contribution
  12. Wow Veasse it must be cool to be memorable Heh, although I almost hope Sean doesn't remember me as 'Wet Hand Girl'. At C4, I think it was, I had a strangely memorable conversation with Dom Monaghan about bees... it turned out we both liked them- surreal.
  13. Hmm.. countless embarrassing moments. When I was meeting Sean Astin I got an attack of the clammy hands, and horror of horrors-- he reached out to shake my hand while talking to me. For a few seconds he was just holding his hand out there, & conflicting signals from my brain caused me to do nothing. Nada. He looked a little confused, so I just came out with it- "sorry I can't shake your hand, my hands are clammy" The stewardy lady sitting by him was nice about it, and Sean looked amusedly taken aback and said "So what!? My feet are sweating! Just shake my hand!" I limply touched his hand a bit, so he made me shake properly... I hate having clammy hands of death, and he really reassured me. What a legend Later on though, I gave Tony Head a clammy hand sandwich and then I bolted while he was trying to talk to me Am I the only one???
  14. Wow Mr McGann is really friendly, and was quite tolerant of my inane blabbering. I want to share what happened but just be aware there will be censored swearing in here.. hope that's OK. So... written on the front of the 'Withnail & I' DVD insert I wanted him to sign, there's a quote from the film "I feel like someone cr**ped on my head", and after the usual niceties, hi how are you etc, I handed it over. He took one look and said "The quote's wrong! It's 'I feel like a pig s**t in my head'" & we spent a few minutes discussing it while he crossed it out and re-wrote the quote correctly! Fabulous
