  1. Is it imperative that guest information is released as soon as possible? Personally, I believe it would be better to wait a couple of days, whilst you find a picture and structure a professional simultaneous release. If takes longer, the site design needs reformatting. A good developer these days could surely make it so that you only have to upload a picture, name, etc into a database, and the job is done. I don't disagree and maybe in the future SM will look at getting a web developer in to make the sites look better and easier to use. But to be honest Jason is a HUGE advocate of this forum community and will always want to announce things here first. It's like telling your friends before the general public. We have one of the biggest forum communities around and he wants to keep it that way and announcing things here first is one way of keeping things interesting. bigger isnt always better. i think the websites themselves look fine as they are to be fair. and the forum is a great way for people to find out, also lets them into a world where they can talk about literally anything else with other forum goers from all over the place. J. p.s. e-magazine
  2. any publicity is good publicity i would well be up for organising an E-magazine or hey, even a normal magazine for SM. we could kick start it at LFCC and have an actual stand dedicated to it. could interview; celebs, the public and even the crew. would be nice to hear a few more words out of some people rather than just the "hello, nice to meet you.." that we get with some of the busier guests. its all part of a publicity scheme that you could also involve, mail shots, radio promos, flyer posting, street teaming, etc a whole host of ideas really. thoughts? J.
  3. i cant believe there isnt anything like an E-magazine for it. just think of all the exclusive interviews, pictures, videos showmasters could have on there? you could find out what music they listen to, what films they actually watch themselves, etc etc. could even have a "meet the crew" section each month or something J.
  4. i am getting really tempted to buy one soon. but i still dont know which pack to get with it. guess i'll get the harry potter ones as a present for my girlfriend
  5. right got to try and remember them now, some film, some tv, some music, not that many though but they were all in person at least A (band) Amen (band) Andy Serkis Andy Tong Anthony Head Bruce Spence Carl Weathers Carrie Fisher Craig Parker Danny John Jules Elijah Wood Finch (band) Four Star Mary (supplied the music for Oz' band in Buffy) Frank Bruno Frank Turner Funeral for a Friend (band) Jeremy Bulloch John Rhys Davies Katie Leung Kenny Baker Mark Ferguson Matthew Lewis Miranda Otto Patrick Kake Paul Blake Peter Geddis Ray Park Sala Baker Sean Connery Silverstein (band) Warwick Davis Yellowcard (band) and im spent! (until LFCC later this year of course)
  6. it was abit gutting last time because we were all ushered into separate queus outside and eventually the Gold Pass holders were let in first. By the time we had gotten our actual passes though inside a million other people had already entered also and formed queues for everyone and everything
  7. hopefully we might get to say more than just "hello" unlike with elijah's London visit
  8. yet again LFCC is looking like a huge money spender for me. With the likes of Patrick Stewart, Dom Monaghan, Mads Mikkelsen, Billy West, Bill Nighy and not to forget a whole host of Star Wars peeps I will be needing for my poster. The bank is already watering its eyes at the amount of money I will be spending. Query though; firstly I got a Golden Programme last time for LFCC and it was well needed as I only had the 1 day around the place to meet Elijah, Carrie, etc I'm just thinking if people still think its worth it? I must say I was slightly disappointed as to what was in the 'goody bag' last time though, especially the selection of autographs. Which leaves me at another question mark. Should I select LOTR again and hope for different/better sigs? Or should I maybe get StarWars and hope theres some decent stuff in there for the 30 years of it, or should I just get Harry Potter and give them to my girlfriend as a present as shes obsessed with it? Another thing that would be nice with the hefty price would be a free photoshoot because besides the £50 worth of autos your mainly paying for time saving. Just a suggestion. J.
  9. this is one of few guests that i always thought would never come back. how wrong i was J.
  10. i think there was something on play.com also. it was similar to the one ive got for my old trilogy but it was just the bit with darth vader on. seeing as hes in episode 3 might be worth having a look failing that they do have a lot more various ones, some of the mosaic pictures might be worth having a look? J.
  11. just wanted general opinions of others. i bought a poster which is meant to be limited edition when the original trilogy was re-released and its all shiny, embossed and fancy la dee da. but i was wondering ive only got old trilogy cast members on it so far, do you think it would ruin it if i got new cast members on it? i.e. ray park as darth maul? because its only made with the old in mind. this post might seem pointless to most but im just in a situation where i dont know whether to get new trilogy cast sigs on it or not. that there is what ive got so far not alot really. advice/ideas would be appreciated Carrie Fisher (princess leia) Paul Blake (greedo) Peter Geddis (captain antilles) Jeremy Bulloch (boba fett) Warwick Davies (wicket) ....are all visible so far. but there are alot of signings happening this year for the saga so... cheers, J.
  12. Wahey, Ray is always a great guy to talk to and meet. everyone must blag him about darth maul but hes still nice as pie. a true gentleman. J.

  16. well the movie looks magical and i cant wait for it to come out! why not have some of the cast? Optimus Prime anyone? seeing as they were the original voices of the original series too.. thoughts? ~J
  17. ...that SM's star wars guest list gets bigger and bigger...i heard they werent doing the CE one anymore so i take it thats why? roll on Samuel L ~J
  18. ..that this event is the highlight of my year. the last few have been hampered with family crisis, ill health and just no general fun. im well looking forward to it and contemplating getting a decent ticket just to get the chance to say more than a "hello" to people who worked on what is now my favourite films trilogy (and book trilogy of course) of all time. i do also stand by my opinion of John Rhys Davies being the most genuine gentleman i ever did meet. instead of me asking him about his amazing life he was more interested in what was happening in mine. and i promised to have a CD of my new band for him next time i saw him so hopefully he will be at this event ( eh showmasters?) plus it means i can get my return of the king and middle earth posters signed yet again which is always good, see some good friends i have made on here once more, and generally rock out middle earth style. sorry twas a bit pointless but i thought i might as well air my thoughts ~J p.s. i apparently have to drag my girlfriend along as well because she likes frodo...thats if elijah returns to london town of course
  19. yet again a crossover guest. awesome musicians. have had an album out recently AND for regular SM event goers. they supplied the music for Oz' band on Buffy the Vampire Slayer; Dingoes Ate my Baby im in direct contact with the band so if anyone wants this to happen let me know ~J check out their stuff anyways if you want at; http://www.myspace.com/4starmary
  20. FINALLY got around to watching the film after being a marvel rather than DC fan. BUT it wasnt that bad so i think i might make the MK journey all the way from north wales again seeing as theres a few would like to meet now
  21. to be honest he is just simply a legend. it was just a bonus when he signed up for xmen which i love anyways guess that means another gold ticket purchase for me this year then
