  1. I signed ....right boob. then again across your cleavage......
  2. Well, it was larger than GMEX 2 :), I understand that alot has to be took into consideration just the main point was that even if the exact floorplan and layout was used you would of seen a quicker turnaround in talks if the entrance and exits were reversed. the main issue was that the exit lead out onto a route that passed dealers, so Not convinced by that actually.....anyway maybe we wanted people to exit through the dealers..... My inital post was based on the Saturday talks, when I returned on Sunday there was no issues. It's good that it got sorted quickly We do try....in fact we can be VERY trying....lol Need to be clearer :) Don't mistake me as having a whine for the hell of it, I enjoyed it alot, I just feel that with every show there will be good points and a few sticking points. If they're never noted then they'll never get fixed :) To be honest signage is a perennial problem for any event. It doesn't matter how much you put up you end up always neeing more! Don't worry about whinging there is nothing wrong with constructive criticism.
  3. Actually I think it was the same size, definitely the same number of seats as LFCC. It's not as simple as you think. We have to consider a whole number of issues regarding layout, that most people probably w ouldn't consider an issue. For example how to optimize the number of wall segments that are used. How the queuing will work for getting people in and out of the area as quickly as possible. How do we keep different queues seperate? Not only to keep our turn around times down but in an emergency. How do we fit everything needed at the show (cos play changing rooms?) in with the floor plan while still leaving space for dealers etc. Once all these issues are considered then the layout becomes more logical. Actually as far as I'm aware this only happened once. I reminded the crew and I wasn't aware that it was a problem after that. There were signs but....
  4. Don't tell Jason....but Kristine's talk was a little longer than it should have been because so many people wanted to ask questions.....
  5. Just for the sake of interest was it a crew member who was saying no or someone representing him like an agent or something? Im not really sure, the person in question wasnt wearing a Staff t-shirt, but they didnt look like an agent. And I have to point out that I know for a fact that some of the SM staff do not wear event t-shirts. Ad And what do agents look like? You are correct that some staff don't wear crew shirts but it is fairly rare for them to be with a guest at the signing areas. We are basically too busy doing other things to be ther imposing no phot rules. In all probability it was an agent. (I'm even pretty sure I know which one...;-) )
  6. The UK Garrison wasn't there - that was the MK Garrison On at least one day both where there.
  7. NOOOOO York is bad enough with Tourists without Hordes or fans bimbling around.....lol Anyway I don't want to spend the wekeend at home I'd have to deal with family!!!!!
  8. The ball was over the try line, but not grounded as his toe end clipped the touch line. Of course the commentators are going to be biased as they are English. Have you heard the French commentators? They make Stuart Barnes & Co look quiet. Ironic that it was an Aussie 4th official who made the decision - the Referee did not make the decision by the way. That's what I meant by "before the ball was placed ..." I know about the commentators and it annoys me when the Scottish ones do it for our games too, But .... I thought the referee made the right choice to pass it to the 4th Official and it looked like he took his time making the right decision. It's not one I'd like to call.
  9. It was only the rather biased commentators that ever thought that the try was legitimate his foot touched the line WEll before the ball was placed over the Try line
  10. bad influence what me never Well I can't be a bad influence I had a tie and everything....at least on saturday morning...... That's cause you were trying to hide your bad influence, it didn't work Damn and I barely mentioned tarmasalata all weekend. Although I did give Andy a smile on his face on saturday night....those shoes were just such a turn on.....
  11. Thanks, It's nice to be appreciated. I think the point of using a lab is that the turn round time for the number of photos that have to be printed is still better using a lab and a courier. The labs tend to have specialist printers that can deliver the large number of high quality prints. Even with the turn around time on the journey I'm not sure we could have printed the photos out in the same time using even a high quality printer at the hotel. (I'm pretty sure this would have been considered, but I'm not an expert on this.) Hey I didn't mean to appear unappreciative. I realise you went beyond duty to get them photos printed. I think the problem lies in what was printed in the programme ie - "photos available normally around 1 hour after the shoot; so you can then, if you want, get the item signed." I think that kind of information is very misleading. I was going to ask Bernard Cribbins to sign my photo, thinking they would indeed be back in time. If I had known the photos weren't going to be ready till much later I would of met Bernard without it. Was very upset about that. The lack of information is the real problem I think. No I didn't think you were being unappreciative I think the aim was to get the turn round in an hour but I think it may have been that somebody forgot the travel time involved. The photos at the lab were turned round within an hour but the transport time needed to be added in. I'm sure we'll be more aware of the issue next time.

  14. Just a quick note about the turn round on the photos. Sorry if you didn't get them back as quickly as you'd have liked. We had to use a printing lab that was open on both days (obviously) and this meant using one a few miles away. I was the guy tasked to transport the memory sticks to the lab and the photos back. We did average a turn around of an hour on the trip and believe me It wan't as if I was hanging around. The traffic was particularly bad on Saturday (apparantly partly due to the match at Wembley). I have to say I was not enjoying the experience of riding the bike (and I never would normally say that!) in London. I've never had the bikle overheat waiting at traffic lights before but it was a constant problem due to the long "red" sequence in nearly every light between the Hotel and the Lab. I did manage to get the round trip down to about 40 minutes on sunday but i'm looking forward to the speeding and jumping liht fines that I think I may have got. Although I know Malcolm the photoigrapher tries to find a suitable lab within areasonable distance we are beholden to them being able to produce the goods, that with the lousy traffic condition on Saturday meant that the turn around wasn't quioete as slick as we may have wanted.
  15. *ahem* me?! never! No Comment......
  16. Dr Evil Said: the reason postman get paid to do overtime e.g. covering say another delivery and it get done in their contracted hours is that the majority of postman start earlier than their actual starting time (coming in at 4 instead of 5)...they also work through their meal breaks and sort /deliver faster than they should...the term job and finish....if they finish at 12 on their own delivery with about 2 hours to spare they would then start on their overtime...why wait to 2pm to do it when the important thing is to get the mail out on delivery....Adam Crozier has not once mentioned that this is common practise in nearly every single office in the country...he wants you to believe that we are underworked and making far to much time out of the job. In response I often work late into the night, over my holidays and lunchtimes etc etc etc. your own comments argue against you. If you were so worried about the post arriving you would work to rule, not strike.
  17. perhaps if you changed the record rather than repeating yourself with the same stuff...its clear you don't like people striking, its clear you believe people should be treated badly, its clear you believe people shouldn't have a right to stand up for themselves against bullying managers... People are being treated badly. Us. Just because you're feeling bad doesn't mean that the rest of us deserve to suffer too. You know that you're going around in circles. You feel that you have the right to stand up for yourself by punishing others, yet you don't feel that the ones you are punishing have the right to stand up for themselves when THEY are losing money and facilities too. That'll be £323 gross per week; take off tax and NI and it'll be about £250 - actually probably less because there will also be pension contributions to be deducted. Whether that's more than you earn or not, there are a finite number of people who will do the job for that money; walking the streets in all weathers carrying a heavy bag isn't exactly glamourous. In fact, if it's much more than what you earn, why don't you sign up as a postie? If that's a problem, they could get an education and pick a more glamorous job. They're getting paid far above their skill level - let's face it, who couldn't be a postie? There are people with incredibly skill and worth, eg nurses, who aren't getting anywhere near what they actually deserve. This is just greed. "get an education and pick a more glamorous job"....i find that remark f*****g offensive....just because we are posties you assume we are uneducated....you are now so desperate to offend us...you are starting to talk out of your backside....your idealism stinks of right wing snobbery!....i'm not even going to give you the attention you so clearly want on here anymore! I've a PhD and I'm a university lecturer and I do get paid more than a postal worker, Not as much as I deserve and i don't get many perks but.... However, I do agree that there is an errosion on pensions in the RM (as in most places) but, I don't think this is what the strike is mainly about...Shall we discuss "Spanish Practices". Personally I think that postmen should get a fair wage but then they also need to stop demanding overtime etc for when they are asked to work up to their contracted hours, or when asked to help a busy workmate if they are not etc etc etc. I don't get paid anymore if I step in to give a lecture. by all means a fair wage for a fair days work, but that works BOTH ways. (AND I'm a Union Official ! )
  18. Ask Roxy about Scampy Fries.... will you punish me if I don't.....
  19. Yes it was a typo, I was eating cookies at the time and had a momentary loss of concentration. Sorry Sparkles I agree, it all sounds faintly disturbing to me. SPARKLES!!!!!!!!! remember "it's pink, it's moist ....it taste like fish...........taramasalata!!! (watch this post get banned!)
  20. First of all I have loads of friends, even some not on the internet ! secondly normal forum ettiquette is not to use caps. It is pretty obvious if you look at the screen when you type to note if they are on or not. They are more difficult to read and for those of us who do spend a lot of time in front of the screen (for work purposes). they can induce headaches and squiffy eye syndrome. The fact that several people felt obliged to tell you off is indicative of the feeling that you have raised in your attitude to others in this forum. (it's also a by-product of how forums work, with real-time conversations being temporaly delayed byt the process and individuals access to the forum media...hmmm interesting research issue there.....) In general, you asked a stupid question (normally i would argue that there is no such thing but....) then got upset and rude and defensive when people teased you about it. I suggest you calm down stop being so defensive and maybe you'll learn something. as for threatening to bitch slap people...I think not..... LOL...I'll have to remember those ones!! Just remember to spell it correctly...only one T in wit (or am I missing a reference?) Can't you tell who's proof reading papers at the moemnt?
